Here is an Auto-Carrier Truck that i have spent the past couple hours building and detailing. I added detail parts to the Promotex Mack CH603 from Plano Models. The Auto-Carrier is from Walthers and came from the Auto-Loading Facility Kit. I have 2 of these Auto-Carriers, both are built, but i have to detail the other cab for it, so ill post that one when i finish it...

But for now, here is this one:

I added Front Fender Mirrors, Front Fender Corner Posts, and a Diamond Tread Cross-Over Platform to the cab from Plano Model Detail Parts. I also added Mack Mirrors, grabs horns, and the famous Mack Bulldog to the front hood

Josh, I don't know a darned thing about auto carriers except they look complicated. Yours looks complicated so it must be good. :) Nice job on the cab too.

Thanks Josh,
Now I know what is wrong with mine. It's the wrong colour.Old Henery would love it but I'm no fan of black.

Looks good sir.

Great looking "parking lot" as truckers call them. It would look more modern with a flattop peterbilt pulling it. You can go without the overhead rack on the cab, or use it as a company truck and leave it.
Did you know that company drivers of parking lots such as that get a free motel room every night they drive? Self explanatory huh, lol.

Jim, Mike, and Johnathon, thanks guys for the comments :D :D I like this one so much i think i might to another like this. I had already started doing one for a Kenworth T-600 with a Flat Top Sleeper, but man i like the look of the Mack Cab pulling an auto-carrier :D :D

lol thanks

Trust me, i would love to have a Peterbilt pulling one of these, but i dont have any right now that would work  I need to pick a couple up from Promotex.... lol Ill be getting another Auto-Loading Facility kit sometime, so that means ill have 2 more auto-carrier's to get cabs for. Ill have to do at least one of those for a Peterbilt for sure :D :D

Ill also have to get some decals on the cabs.... I think i want them to be all company trucks, but then i would have to have them all the same color. I might do the next 2 that i do with the new Auto-Loading Facility kit in company colors and decal them for Ford Transport or something, and leave these 2 that im doing right now with just private owners hauling.....

Josh you can easily get away with not having a fleet of all the same company trucks. There are dozens of private haulers who transport collector cars and other single lots combined on one load. Most are enclosed trailers but many are open as well. Up here in the frigid north the snowbirds as we call them who spend Winter in Florida often fly down and have their cars shipped down by truck. That would give you the freedom to use any tractor you want and paint it any color. Some modifications to the trailer would add to the individuality of each privately owned rig as well.

Very nice Josh! Now load'er up with some Gremlins from Wallyworld. :D
I remember sitting at the local A&W watching them unload one of those... they got the last car off the bottom which made it top heavy and the dang thing rolled over!

Thanks Mike for the info :D My dad actually works at a car dealership as the fleet manager in a large auto-center. He said he was going to take some pics of some of the auto-carriers for me, he sees tons of them everyday at work lol

And i agree with you, making some mods to the trailers would certainly make them more unique and make them stand out from each other :D

Yes i do need to make a trip to wallyworld lol. Can you believe that i only have one car, well actually its a pick-up truck so hardly a car! lol The rest of my vehicles are trucks and construction equipment, about 500-600 trucks and trailers and NO cars whatsoever lol :o

Sounds like those guys made a stupid and costly mistake, i bet he didnt have a job after that one lol

Time for an update on this thread

looks good !! but i'll give you a few pointers

your headrack is to tall!! those rails should be ABOUT 2 or 3 inches above
the cab
the reason is that exploder is going to get roofed at the next 13'-6''
overpass
next with that load in the first few pics you ARE overweight by about 30,000 lbs
we try to keep the loads legal here in new york

lol thanks

Josh- they look great. In regards to having them all the same color. Maybe you could have owner/ops on contract that pull company trailers. just a thought.

Wow Josh, looks like you found some cars!
Big ford is right about the Exploder being a little high, should be to the rear of the trailer.
But at an average weight of 3,500 lbs per vehicle, 30,000 lbs is a loaded auto hauler. Must have been a typo BF?

no Ive loaded a few real car haulers. truck trailer and load
must weigh 80,000 lbs. that mack ch is a heavy tractor so is
that kenworth. so you can figure with all those crown vic and
exploders she should be over weight:D
