Yesterday I paid $5.69/lb. for Esskay bologna! I also picked up Hatfield domestic ham for $2.99lb. Pastrami was $17.99/lb.! That made me feel a little better about the price of bologna.

The seafood counter had ex Jumbo gulf shrimp 12-14/lb. I got big bag of those too. Because of my gout I can only eat a few. My wife and my grandson love them!

I'm not supposed to eat cured meats. I can't help myself. Call the Sherief, round up a posse. They will have to drag me off kicking and screaming to stop me!

I almost forgot to mention; I paid $5.19/bag for original Barbeque Fritos! I don't know why they are only available occasionally. Maybe to motivate suckers like me to pay full price?

Our new Samsung smart oven is coming today. When I was told my Mom could stay here. I finally was motivated to work in the upstairs kitchen that was damaged by the fire. I have a loving patient wife that had no problem using the downstairs kitchen. She never said a word. Give me an excuse to do nothing and often I will.

I did not want my wife to walk up and down cooking for my Mom, which motivated me. I ordered the new oven. I removed the old oven and worked on removing the other fire damage. Thanks for the motivation, Mom.

Money or love is all that motivates me. Anger can too, but I try not to go there.

Have a great day Everybody!

I'll let you borrow mine then.

I think you asked about Gondola diagrams on an earlier post:

These are hard to read, but here is an example. These and many other freight car diagrams are available at :
hope this helps! Dave
Thanks a lot. I saw some photo's on the Conrail Historical Site. With the many details and photo's I could figure out the inner Lenght, Width and Height. I added 1 mm scale HO for the sides. So my guess is in metric system and scale 87 is Lenght scale 183.9 + (2x1) = 186.00 mm
Width is 290mm scale is 33,4 mm + (2x1) = 35 mm. Height is 167mm scale is 19.00 mm +2 mm for the wooden floor+ 1mm for the steel underfloor = 22.00mm.
I will save the drawing and enlarge it. The car I want to build (due to my subscription for RMC and the drawing in the July issue) is build in the 70ies. Not all badges were alike and Conrail rebuilded the cars (the one I took the measures from) so its probably not 100% correct.
Sure I will have a look at the website you mentioned. Thanks a lot Dave.

Good Afternoon All!
55F in Libby and severe clear. Weather guessers say cold until Monday, then unseasonable warm for the next 2 weeks - we will see.

Things seem to be getting done abet slowly. I am building up more stamina, which is good. Was used to sitting for 11 hours of which we throw that out the window. Been sore for the last week as I am doing more bending, leaning, walking up/down stairs ... etc.

Got new ( to me ) truck - 89 Ford F150 4x4 long box, 302ci and automatic. Did not really care about the tranny, but I really like the 302. Everything else we looked at were 350/351 or bigger; don't even bother with Ram's as they are the most uncomfortable things I ( we ) have ever been in.

Have to do the inside of the Santa Fe, then it goes on the wife's facebook or craigslist. 2005 for $4500 AWD automatic with 109K....timing belt changed at 102K.

Later
I guess it will be BNSF orange? Or even better the SF Kodachrome all included?

Good morning to the European contingent, and to the sleepy heads from the US that were up late.

As usual, I got up at 4am and stayed up.

Already have 900 words in. Mostly about cinnamon rolls and pixies. And why [censored] got arrested... And it's only the middle of the book.

got another 20K words to go before we find out who dunnit.

As for my books: If anyone wants to read a free sample, message me. I've got three shorts to introduce characters and style in each of the three series.

My main demographic of reader is the 50+ year old female reader with a lot of time to read. Most of this demographic goes through a book a day (about 50K words) Maybe one every two days.

But, I have a surprising number of male readers as well.

there are "Witches" - aka Fae faeries, werebeasts, small pookahs and pixies, and the odd "demon" (for lack of a better term... beings from another dimension who smell of brimstone, and want to cause havoc on our world.)

There is almost always a murder for our amateur sleuth to solve. Sometimes two. One full-sized book had no murders, but an art heist.

All of the books have at least one snarky, talking cat.

I've got a promo planned for my UK based series in November. Book 1 will be free (ebook only), and books 2 and 3 will be 99c each. (US and UK). I'll try to remember to post a link just in case anyone wants to get a discount.

My first attempt to construct something. This is adjusted and pasted, duplicated to form the "ribs" at the end of the Gon. The angle should be wider, the heigh will be like 6 inches (so a lot lower) and I need 3 of them with in between smaller ones. But it's a start. I'm not that smart so before this I listened to the tutorial part 1 ...10!!! times?

Like that, first time trying anything new is the hardest I find.

Good morning!

The usual wake-up time is 6am. I'm up 2hrs early, due to the high winds making so much noise outside. The winds are blowing away all the warm weather, as well as the neighbors plastic garbage cans. I'm hearing we can expect first snow very soon.

As far as the weight loss/exercise discussion goes. I walk the dog 1/2hr twice per day, up and down the forest hills, year round, rain or shine. As a result, I've never had to worry about gaining much weight. The purposeful walks along with frequent snow shovelling don't leave much time for fat layers to build up. Plus, I'm not a couch potato watching someone else play sports. I lead an active lifestyle.

Yesterday, I started work on the layout swing gate. The plans for it are all in my head, so it is indeed an experiment in either success or failure. I'm trying to anticipate the 'what could go wrong' elements of Murphy's law.

I've cut, glued and screwed the parts of the framework. The swing gate will be angled, so I only need to sand a radius in that left hand, front corner to achieve an unobstructed swing. The tab on the end will allow for a 3/8" metal pin to be entered into a sleeve, forcing the gate to stay securely closed. The metal bar you see in the photos will be cut, drilled and installed so the gate will sit on a metal lip when closed, and the same when open. For now, this is a one hinge adventure. I do have a back-up plan if it requires more than one hinge, but I'll trust the metal lip to do its job.:

I've also painted my sidewalks with Future floor polish, in anticipation of a wash and weathering. The pavement itself has two coats of paint on it. I'm giving it another coat after the sidewalks are done, slightly darker.:

Plus, I've re-boxed all of my expensive engines and tank cars, before I break anything else. All that's left on the table to play with are a couple of Bachmann engines and 2nd hand boxcars. I'm leaving these few out, so the G-kids and I can play.

Smudge - You're T-Rex has the wrong eyes. It's supposed to have cat-slit eyes to have that really evil look. Also, it should have five claws per hand. I know all this from experiencing my ex, who was definitely closely related, actually walking in the posture your Dino depicts.

Curt - I know how it is with home ownership and plumbing. My main washroom can't be used until the toilet drain is repaired. The solder joint has failed, after 52 years of being in service. Good thing we have three washrooms.

There, just like Troy, I've worded a few words over coffee. Think I'll just sit back while having another coffee and listen to the wisdom of my friends from other places.

Have a good one!

Raining outside now. Oh well, could be worse.

Good morning from home after checking in with the vampires this morning. My breakfast out with the old friend and a once personal assistant was cancelled via text around midnight. Since I hit the sack early last night I didn’t see it until I was in blood suckers department of the Clinic.

She cancelled due to a hubby who thought 30 years ago I was a menace to their marriage and she wrote he still feels that way. A joke then and a bigger one now. They moved into the area a few months ago to be closer to their grandkids. Geez, I know that feeling.

A busy morning is now freed up. I still have a massive headache from the Krylon spray bomb used yesterday. I will call the HVAC guy who built my spray booth and ask about a bigger exhaust fan.

No real plans for other then the trainroom until the 7:30pm touring Broadway play, Pretty Women. I do have an escort, it is not a date. Arranged by my wife so as to not waste a ticket and make sure I go. It’s the sister of my Endocrinologist who is in Maui with Terry and 2 others. No jeans and I have to wear socks along with good shoes.

enjoy the day
