I was taking Lisinopril, hydrochlorothiazide and Amlodipine to manage my blood pressure.
I've lost a little over 50 pounds in the last year, and asked my cardiologist if I could try backing off meds.
He suggested I stop taking the Amlodipine as a first step, as, of the three drugs, it would have the least impact. So... That leads me to believe it is the least effective of the three.
I've been monitoring my BP dailey ( a week before stopping Amlodipine, and ever since), and I noticed no significant difference when I stopped taking the Amlodipine.
He said the next one to go would be the hydrochlorothiazide. So I stopped taking that yesterday. Again, no significant rise in blood pressure. I've been averaging like 116 over 68 for about a month.
I'm hoping to get off Lisinopril if I can continue to improve on the obesity. I, 6'2" and topped the scales at 307 lbs just about a year ago. Today, I was 254. My goal is be below 240 fully clothed. I haven't been below 250 since the 90's
I was 240 in college, playing midfielder on the lacrosse team. Of course, back then the wide part of the triangle was my chest. Today it's my waist, lol
