McWane has a strict "no touching" policy. If you touch it, you gotta marry it!

I cann't get the wife trained I've had for over 40 years.
BUT I can window show!

Good morning. It's 66° and cloudy with fog. The high will be 75° and cloudy.

Only thing on my schedule today is layout work. I was going to do some yesterday but other things (as usual) got in the way. One thing I plan to do is to remove the shell from my F3 and prep it for a spraying of Clear Flat. That glossy shine has got to go. Had dinner at my nephews place last night along with several other guests and a good time was had by all. He found a great way to get some exercise without having to do any running or setting foot in a gym. He has an old three wheeler (200cc) he's rebuilding. Right now it has a problem with at least one of the piston rings and is getting some oil up into the cylinder so starting it is somewhat tricky and requires a lot of pulling on the recoil starter. It's also helping him to increase his vocabulary. Just yesterday while trying to get it started (he eventually did) he came up with at least three words I can't find in Webster's. We both put our minds to work on the problem (the engine, not word definition) and have deduced that the oil ring (bottommost piston ring) is either cracked or has totally broken up and is laying in pieces in the bottom of the crankcase. We'll find out soon enough. Getting it started isn't easy but once it's running it runs like a champ, though nobody wants to be behind it on the trails as it burns almost as much oil as it does gas and for the time being it does a great job of keeping the mosquitoes away. He plans on tearing the engine down sometime next week and we'll see what we shall see.

For those who are still interested my sale of HO items is still on though is scheduled to end on the 24th (Friday). The list of items is HERE:

Good morning everyone.

Tom, listening to your schedule almost overwhelms me. Then I think back to being a kid and it was exactly as yours sounds. Now that I think about it, my parents should have painted the family cars yellow and charged us fare.

We got about six inches more of the white crap yesterday. This time it ended with freezing rain! The store was super busy despite the bad roads because as you know, Christmas is coming! They let school out so what do the kids and parents do, go shopping! I shouldn't complain, we need the business.

I added another layer of drywall mud to my highway. Hopefully I'll be able to sand and stain it before Christmas. The clocks ticking so we'll see what happens. There's really no rush, it would just be nice to have made a little more progress since the last time my family came over for a Holiday.

Speaking of holidays, we're hosting Christmas again this year so I have to do the grocery shopping tonight. Talk about making a list and checking it twice!:D We're having a twelve pound prime rib roast for Christmas dinner. That gigantic, expensive piece of meat is coming courtesy of my wealthy aunt. I have to supply the rest!

Well, I better get ready for work. I got talked into working on my day off by the boss since it should be busy today as well. That's okay, it's raise and Christmas bonus time of the year. I better make myself seem irreplaceable!:D

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Guys,

It's good to read most everyone is having a good time. I got a big kick out of how Jeffery described his friends language. Say, if the words he used are not on unwords.com it could be a word!?

Time to get to work on my layout to get more progress going. The new cordless dremel will sure come in handy for drilling all the spike holes in the upper section without having to be concerned with draging the power cord over anything in front and below. It's supposed to be on it's way so it should get here in a few days.

Hope everyone has a good Holiday Season.

That's a good question. I've been known to cuss in seven different languages and sometimes I do combinations.

Evening all

Cold here again, had a few -14 temps, last night was -17 down the road which is not helping the snow melt, it's just turning to ice and tonight we have between 4" and 12" forecast to add to the mess,,, bring it on i say :)
Only problem is it's driven a big old rat (18" to 20" long) into my place of employment,,, so tomorrow i'm going rat huntin with the gun, the pest people want to poison it but they are not the ones who'll have to get it's dead stinking carcass out from under the floor,,, NO it's gotta be high velocity lead for breakfast.

Ya'll have a nice day like Mikey ;)

Fancy a beer Chris ;)

Sheeesh. 2 individuals of questionable background at the same time?:rolleyes::rolleyes:;):D:D

Shoot, you had better smell the coffee here, there are alot more of us here that are Questionable! Heck, H-Rex and Larry are really Questionable! And you my friend are starting to fall to the darkside of it!;):p

Layout planning............Ugh! :(
After several attempts with Atlas and 3rd-Planit software, I've given up on doing a digital plan. :( So today I printed out a lot of 1 inch graph paper, grabbed my trusty track template, and started to put my crude sketches to paper in a reasonable fashion. Roughly a 21x26 "G" shaped layout, my biggest challenge so far is how to get 2 levels of running point to point, yet still allow a few loops for continuous running. There is also a planned interchange track off the main layout that goes over the washer and drier! SWMBO only asks that she have a clear shot from the bottom of the steps to the laundry room. All while trying to maintain a 30 inch minumum radius!! Fun!!
When I get it close to ready, I'll shrink it down and park it on the web for all to see and critique!

I'll show you all, Crayola Rocks!

Good morning. It's 64° and mostly cloudy. The high will be around 70° and there's a 40% chance of rain (Just a hair under an inch according to the weather guesser).

Maybe I'll get some work done on the layout today, IF nothing else comes up. Maybe I should put a sign on the door. "DO NOT DISTURB UNDER PAIN OF GETTING A SEVERE BEATING". Of course that wouldn't work with my nephew. He'd enjoy it too much! Nothing really special has to be done. Just mix up some plaster to do a skim coat over the wall joint compound to fill in the cracks. As anyone who's used plaster on a layout knows it's best to be able to do the entire job without interruption as the stuff sets up really quick and joins between wet and dry areas can show up fairly well and require sanding to smooth it out. While I do have an orbital sander to do any sanding that may be required I do so hate the mess that ensues. I have an attachment I made to attach the hose from the ShopVac to the sander but that limits the use of the sander to open areas. Getting it into a tight area with the vacuum hose on it isn't much fun.

Still got my sale going on. There's 12 items remaining. Only two days left.
