Mornin' guys!

Well I did not get as much done as I had planned to this weekend. I kind of forgot about some plans the wife had for us. That's pretty typical of me to forget things like that so I end up and just roll with it. I did get a small amount of layout planning done. Man, that stuff is tough on a new modeler! But I will see what I can come up with.

Ken:Welcome back, Floreally was missing you!:D

Well I am off to see what is going on at work this week. I am suppose to be off next week but I might have to work the first couple of days of the week since we are still a little busy. Nothing special planned for the time off, just general stuff around the house. I really need to get my garage cleaned up and start straightening the basement up too.

I'll talk to you guys later...

Good morning.

It's 70 and sunny. The high will be in the upper 80's and it will be partly cloudy.

Got a break yesterday and went to Wal-Mart to get a few things. Among those was a Hot Wheels 1/87 Custom '67 Mustang and 2 of the Harry Potter movies in wide screen format. I already have the first 5 movies in full screen format. For those who think there's no difference between the two, you're either blind or not very observant. There's a marked difference. I also checked on the availability of ColorPlace spray paint. They have black and white in flat and gloss, gray primer and red, green and blue in gloss. I also picked up some frozen dinners and some flat bread. I don't know what today holds in store but I guess I'll find out. My parent's yard needs mowing so I'll have to see if I can work it in.

Afternoon, Everyone.

Been away for the coffee shop doing some real world and model railroading things. We won our softball game 17-5 on Thursday. Luckily for us, they were even worse than we were. We are at 2-1, which is better than I thought we'd be given the beating we took in the first game.

I finally finished installing my Model Power traffic lights. They turned out to be a much bigger pain that I originally thought. Had to do a lot of detail work to the heads to get the wires so they weren't all sticking out and then about three coats of yellow paint for the light faces, since the traffic lights down here are yellow. Ended up running five sets of wires back to the control panel so I could control each travel direction plus have all the ambers flash. It came out OK but I wouldn't do it again. I ordered a Walthers traffic light and controller for my other intersection and it should be way easier. The traffic lights look better and the controller makes it dead easy to use. The lights will also change at preset intervals, which is a lot easier than flipping toggle switches. Reminded me of the old days of block control. You start adding up toggle switches at $3 a pop and you can pay for a Walthers traffic light controller if you find one on sale.

The rest of the time has been doing...well...stuff. :) Cleaning out the garage, dissembling and replacing the motor in the central vac, which finally failed, hanging up yet more crap on the walls...that kind of stuff. Between that and some church things, that pretty well shot the rest of the week. I have no idea how I can not really seem to do much but never have the time to do much of anything else. :D

Hope everyone else is doing as well as they can. We had a nice little dry front go through here Saturday and it actually was cooler after the front, a rarity down here. It only went up to 87 yesterday and went down to 62 last night. My heat pump actually shut off for a while. It's starting to warm back up but only in the low 90's with 28% humidity so it feels pretty comfortable. If we're luck, and BOC stops stealing our rain, we might get some more thunderstorms later in the week. At least for now, most of my lawn is green again.

Good afternoon all. Its been running 100+ degrees in the western end of the San Fernando Valley the past week. No let up in sight either.

The sidewalk is done yahoooooo. Finished moving the pile of dirt out of the yard just a short while ago. Hauled about 15 wheelbarrow loads to around the sidewalk and across the street to a neighbors, he just bought the vacant place and is now remodeling it. Had to strip the garage because of Mold and mildew and gutted the kitchen and is now putting in new floor and cabinets. His dad cut down all the shrubs in front of the house. That is the first time I have ever seen the whole front of that house in the 32 years we have lived here. He has done a lot but also has a long way to go before he can move in. His brother brought over a pickup up truck and we loaded the last of the dirt into it or I would have hauled another 10 wheelbarrow loads myonself. No wonder I am tired. Tomorrow I will start installing the new railing around the porch and down the steps and encasing the post with vinyl. Well time for fish, corn on the cob and peas and I is hongray.

Evening guys!
Day 1 of the new job was great. Boss even took me to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays! :D
Yesterday my next door neighbor asked me if I wanted some firewood. Sure I said, figuring a couple of bucket of his Bobcat would be what I would get. So while I was at work, he brought a little over. Well, not a little! I now have the remains of 2 75 year old maples laying behind my shed! Some of these buggers are 6-8 ft long and 4 ft across!!!!
Wow, its chainsaw and wood splitter time!!!!! Wife asked me when I would have it split and stacked. I asked her when she could eat an elephant. I told her it was possible, but you have to do it a little bit at a time!

BOC, thats no cat, its a Puma!!

Jim Can you still see the walls?

Larry, I feel your pain, or at least I will soon!!!!

Cya!

This being a landlubber in weather like this stinks!!!! I did go fishin' though. Did OK. Got some real nice crappies and s few white bass. Oh, and one 4# channel cat. Goin' again tomorrow.

It was 106 here today. I can't even say it was a dry heat, as the humidity was up. Okay, 40% isn't what I consider "high", but when normal humidity for here is 10% or less...
The good news is, I have a lot of auto a/c repairs to keep me busy for a while.

Mornin' folks!

Seems I'm a bit more spry today. Yesterday I was draggin' butt!

So whats up with all of you?

Chris, will do on the prayer request!

Good morning folks

It was 66 F with threatening skies when I hit the pavement this morning. Our high will be 79 F with a 50/50 chance of thunderstorms.

Last night was a lay around the house night. We did not do much except watch some TV together as a family. Later I tried to do some modeling but I nicked my finger with the blade of the razor knife I use for cutting decals. While it was not a large of deep cut for some reason it bled a good bit. So instead of decaling I wound up cleaning up blood drops from the workbench top and trying to get my finger to stop bleeding. I guess the nick was a little more than what I thought.

Tonight is my daughter’s flute lesson. Also I have to help my son get his gear together for Boy Scout Summer Camp next week.

Chris, we are hoping and praying that you are not on the chopping block.

Friday is quickly approaching. If there is no budget I will get a two day pay. It will let us have food and gas. The most important bills have been paid through mid August. The others will just have to wait. They gave us a letter to send to our creditors but the creditors don't care or even want to see the letter despite that the Governor told us that our creditors would be willing to work with us. I guess as usual he forgot to check with people outside of his circle of yes-men to see what is going on in the real world.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning.

It's 73 and partly cloudy. The high will be around 87 and there's a chance of rain.

Got the parent's yard mowed yesterday with just a slight interuption. I cut the tractor off to take a short break. When I went back to start it, no luck. It wouldn't start. Seemed as though it was vapor locked. I couldn't find any starting fluid and I learned the hard way years ago about pouring even a little gas into a hot carb. Air freshener makes a great substitute. The engine fired right up and I was back at work. I also reminded my sister that we were out of chlorine for the pool so she made sure she got more. Trouble is she didn't have her son bring it down yesterday so I had to pick it up and carry it down here this morning. That drum is pretty hefty! Not sure what I'll be doing today. Just roused my mother from bed and I have her breakfast ready for her. She just has to get out her to the library to enjoy it while she watches the her daily depressing news channels, Fox and CNN.

Chris, got the "heavy duty" prayer rug out, buddy. Which are you hoping for, a lay off( a change in avocation may not be bad) or ya wanna stay? I need to know. I will pray for all in any case.

You may want to get the resume started any way. It's always better to have some things and never need them(like car insurance) than to need it and not have it.

Phil, a draggin' butt? Ya got pics? I've heard of a "draggin butt", but have yet to see a picture of one. Or is it a "dragon butt"? In any case, I've never seen one of those either.

Tom, you should be in the shoes of Jeffrey and myself. We have to prick our fingers multiple times a day to test our blood. But, we are smart enough not to use X-acto knives. Will we need to amputate? I've just bought a new set of blades for my knives, the procedure should go quite smoothly. Even got a new saw blade we can use as a bone saw. Chris should be able to round up some anesthesia and something we could pour on the wound to prevent infection. (note to Chris-- Save the GOOD stuff for us for post operative discussions)

Jeffrey, WD40 is also a great product to use on those stubborn engines for starting fluid.

Just got back from a fishing expedition. Got fish to clean. Hopefully, I can sneak back out this evening and get the rest of the fish in the lake.

Bob

Here is a "Dragon Butt" & "Draggin Butt" both, your choice!:D

So how are things going today with everyone? I had a dentist appointment this morning and found there is a crack in one of my rear teeth. Doc says it will have to have a root canal to fix it. I may have to wait until January though, insurance funds are a little lower and it's not really al that painful.

Chris; We’ll give the big guy upstairs our best effort for you. Hope it all works out the way you would like, keep us posted please...

Bob; Sounds like you having a good time with the fishing. Not much of a fisherman myself, always thought you had to be to smart to fish. I enjoy hunting a little more.

Well, I just too a little break from work for a few minutes, have to get back at it. Talk to ya later...:

But I digress.......................

Afternoon everyone;

My LEGO model of Firestone has been finished yesterday, though, today, due to a time crunch, I might not get so much done, but maybe a few segments of road. Pretty cloudy out and that can mean one thing.... lots o' rain....
