Morning y'all,

It's finally [according to the Weather Channel at least] NOT suppose to rain here today! Everything is still kinda wet though. At least yesterday there was enough of a pause in the parade of T-storms that I was able to lug the miter saw outside and cut out all the component pieces for my Car Card slots. That was more of a chore than I thought it would be, since it was so humid outside and I was sort of hunched over for much of the time. My whole body ached later in the day. At least I have half of them (30 of 60) assembled now, the jig I made up is speeding the process nicely.

Jim - you are sooo right about the difference between being married and co-habiting. Something about the elevated "state of commitment" seems to cause the partners to view each other differently than before. Of my 4 sisters who lived with their boyfriends before marrying them, 3 are now divorced.

Karl/Jim/BOC - I wish I could find a used car with manual windows, they just don't seem to exist anymore! I always dread the thought of having to pay hundreds of $$$ just to fix a window.

Gotta run, I'll try to check back in later - since I can't do so from work in the forseeable future!

You know, it is/was the strangest dang thing. I had at one time a 1968 MGB sports car. Now, THAT was supposed to have electrical issues! But. Never once did I end up with the problems everyone else was talking about. I sold the thing in 2002 and it is still being driven around on a daily basis. Kind of makes one go HMMM----

Once in a while, you'll get a piece of equipment that the tolerances are + or - just right, and it will last forever. Usually it will be the exception proving the rule.;)

Chris, congratulations on being able to wear a 34 waist, I'm still hovering around a 36.

There is something good about being able to clean the inside of the truck with a garden hose...

Jim...I guess I wasn't in that big of a hurry to get it fixed  The mechanic I used to use quoted me about $600 to fix it and the one who DID fix it charged $350. It was the timing belt. What a bother.

The Explorer has all the bells and whistles...but my Escort is pretty plain. No power locks, and no power windows. Never had any problem with the windows in it. ;) I never use cruise control so that is not an issue with my Escort. I always forget to use it in the Explorer...oh well.

Karl...The shifting is coming back to me :p I am getting used to that and the fact that I am sitting SO low. I also have a tendency to speed in the Escort. Hafta watch that.

Happy Father's Day!

Sandy

Hi everyone and thanks for the Father's Day wishes and back atcha!
My daughter sent me 5lbs  of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The flavors range from familiarly good or interesting, to down right weird :D:D She always sends something out of the ordinary just to keep things fun.

I finally got all the staples pulled from the porch that was securing the old screen wire; must have been 10's of thousands:rolleyes:. Well, at least it felt like it when standing in the HOT sun. Next: some JOMAX and Chlorox cleaner mix sprayed on and then using my new pressure washer.

Roofers back at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning meaning another rude wake up call. Like Jim has said, it is hard to believe anyone could stand that heat. They quit around 1-2pm, but DANG, it's hot by 8 a.m.

Today I stay out of the heat and relax. Hope you all have a very good (cool) day :).

It's a hot one here today. Forecast Fox says it's 93 but I just saw that it was 101 in town a while ago and my neighbors thermometer says 99.

not too bad today here. It has been drizzling a little bit.

Family should be here from Colorado tonight. 6-7 months of 2 little girls living in my house.

Happy Father's Day everyone! Going to a local steak house here in about 2 hours.

We's be having a BBQ with 4 families out'n our back yard---pot luck style---gotta love it--:):):)

I managed to get the plantings shuffled about AFTER our 20% chance of an 'isolated' shower isolated itself and monsoonded all over us:eek::mad:--this for about an hour----got summat like 3 inches here---

Have a pleasant evenin'-----:D:D:D:D

I sure am ready to party hardy. Got the niece all married off Fri afternoon and the reception was very nice with good eats and an open bar. I went easy on them and only had one Brew Moon draft and we finished off two bottles of a very good Chardonnay and Cabernet that went well with the fancy smancy chicken we had. Stopped and visited my dads sister in Valparaiso IN on Sat and her oldest son on Sunday Afternoon in Elkhart IN. We had a very good mini vacation and I am already ready for another. Maybe in Sept Glendia and I can take off for Train Town in Strasburg PA and an excursion train ride in Lancaster County in PA. While in the area I might also visit my Bro Jim in Yorksprings PA.

You should have stopped by, Larry. You probably took US 31 home. Marion isn't that far off the beaten path. Just head east on SR18. I was probably fishin', but the better half makes a mean batch of sun tea. And she made this pie with graham cracker crust, cream cheese, bananas, fresh pineapple, and Kool Whip. Mighty tasty. No wonder I have trouble getting below 200#. But I have lost 26#, so I'll be happy with that for now. This is a match made in Heaven, she loves to cook and I love to eat.

By the way. limited on crappie........

Bob
