Afternoon, everyone.
Sandy, it has been a rather strange month in Colorado. Tornados are usually confined to the plains east of Denver but there has been a persistent low just off California that has been pumping moisture up into the Great Basin and Colorado. It looks like that's just about at an end so things should heat up fast for you. I've always loved storms and spent a summer doing storm chasing. If I ever could have figured out all the math, I would have gotten my degree in meteorology.
Rex, we spent two weeks in Bangkok and that was enough for me. Between the traffic and the heat, it's a really tough place to be, although the temples are amazing. Your comment about A/C is interesting. When I used to sail the Caribbean, the first week was always miserable with all the heat and humidity. The second week was bearable, and the third week was fine. I think our bodies do adapt to heat if given the chance but, with all the A/C today, all we do is run through the heat to get to the next cool place. I can't believe they can squeeze 10,000 more seats in Bryant-Denny field. We were crushed when we were there last year and I can't see where they could jam in any more seats. I guess I'm fairly lucky with my Meniere's. I'm almost totally deaf in the left ear but rarely have any tinnitus. I know that some people have it bad and it really drives them nuts.
Andrew, sorry to hear about your neck. I'll be interested to see how your JITB model comes out. I've looked at the ads for those Summit Model kits and they look nice although they do seem to be really expensive.
Jeffrey, I'm glad to hear your mother is fighting physical therapy. That's a sign she's getting better. No one likes physical therapy but really sick people just let the PT's drag them up and down the hallway. Sounds like real fun working on that mower. That's why I pay a guy to cut my lawn. I wouldn't be able to fix those huge mowers if my life depended on it.
Corey, sounds like a really cool version of a monster truck rally.

See, it's not so bad having your wife home, is it? Assuming you have a good relationship, it will get even better. I think a lot of guys forget that women seem to naturally engage in artistic work like painting, gardening, and knitting. If you think about it, it's not a great leap for them to do scenery on a layout if you can get them interested. Making trees together is a good start. Dianna's sole contribution to the layout is rearranging vehicles when they don't look "right". I haven't figured out what "right" is yet.
Chris, sounds like you're moving right along on the display layout. I can smell the wallet smoke up here...or maybe it's the paper mill.
Got the two new laptops yesterday and spent most of the day stripping all the extra junk off it like Norton 360, Office demos, Lord only knows how many games, and assorted internet junk. I installed Office XP and AVG 8.5, got connected to the net and, so far, so good. Next step is to transfer all the data and settings and then reinstall the rest of my settings. It sure would be nice if there was an easier way to do all this.
It's really a scorcher here in Dixieland today. It's presently 102 with a heat index of 109. Only went down to 77 last night and it was already 90 by 8:00. So much for getting up on the RV roof today. Doesn't look like any chance of a break until at least Sunday. I'm sure glad we a got a little rain over the weekend or it would be even worse.
