Once this section is done, I’ll only have a little over 100 feet of track to lay. We’re getting close!

Don’t worry, those kinks will be worked out with the track. I slight measuring mishap. 😳

Hi rgeiter !
It's quite impressive. Here in Europe all that plywood would cost a fortune.
I know It's too late but did you ever consider an open grid frame in order, not only to save on plywood, but also to get more flexibility when building scenery below track level ?
It also helps to avoid a too flat and too straight fascia edge and, therefore, a flat looking scenery along the aisle side.

Yes, I did consider that. But ultimately I went with the flat table top method. It’s what I’ve done in the past. It was only 16 sheets of plywood. 😜 Having to learn a new construction method wasn’t in the cards.

I understand your point.
You wouldn't believe how plywood, wood slats and so on are expensive here.
On the other hand an american friend told me that styrofoam is more expensive on your side.

A 4 foot by 8 foot by 2 inches thick sheet currently runs around $55 at one of the “big box” stores. That’s the really dense type, usually pink or blue.

My 1/2 inch, surface one side plywood, that I bought from a lumber yard was around $47.

Here a 122 x 244 x 5 cm sheet of styrofoam, about same size than yours costs 22 €= 47$.

A plywood board same size but only 15 mm thick (slightly less than 1/2 inch) costs 69,90 € = 81 $ !

The progress I made the last three days has been awesome. The mainline should be completed this week. All I have left is 32 feet of double track mainline to go. Almost there.

Then there’s the yard, industrial branch and storage tracks to go.
