Grandeman, actually I'm looking a used bike myself, one of the likes of this:
http://www.ducati.com/heritage/anni90/996sbk/996sbk.jhtml

Either the 996, or 998. Big twin, beautiful to ride though, and to look at, at that. Gonna cost me in the range of $10k - $13k (won't go higher then $13k). Wanted one since High School, just never worked up the nerve to jump and spend the cash on one, but the Fiance says I should, so she won't have to worry about me wanting one forever.

Anyways, I'm off for the night, I have to re-think the "incedent" we had at work today, (fuel CAN break a 1/2 inch of steel)...

Good Morning ! from Indiana. :D

Ken, Biker chicks??? I need to do some thinking about that.:D :D :D On second thought, that might present some secondary problems...

Hello sports fans

It's an overcast day here in the Land Of Pleasant Living, the sky is the same color of gray as the ballast I've been struggling with all week. Yesterday was a two-steps-backward kind of day - I spent roughly 4 hours gouging-out excess ballast from an area where I had spent ~2 hours originally applying the stuff! Win a few lose a few...

Rex, thanx for the input on ballasting. The last time I did it was 10 years ago on my previous layout, and I never was as concerned about appearance back then as I am nowadays. Good luck getting that extra 10mi. of track laid, you sure know how to make the most of Carey's time huh?:D

RT - I see you've started a thread about this club by-laws topic. I'm just curious: What scale is this club you and your friends are starting? Will it have a layout, or is it a round-robin type of setup? Enquiring minds want to know...

. . .
Back 2 work, C-ya!

Hello all and happy Easter weekend to everyone! Thank you Doughnut Man for screwing up my diet. (How about raspberry jelly ones tomorrow?)

Had a big work day on the layout yesterday. CJ came over and we were at it for almost 9 hours. We didn't get our goal of 10 miles of track down, but we did get 13 turnouts, a 30deg crossing, a wye with a "drop down" on one leg, and about 50 total feet of flex track put down. This is the backbone of the track with the remaining trackwork being industrial sidings and a yard. The sidings will be designed in as the structures are put in place.

We only had one  OOPS! After we got all the connections of track made, we decided to test it with a Class A. (Challenger was on another run). "OK Rex, throw the power to it."..."Turn it on, Rex!"..."It is on, CJ:mad: " ..."Ain't nuttin happening"..."Meter time, hmmm!"..."Only reading small voltage"..."Rex I got a hot spot on the track."..." "CJ, we got a short!"....................(together) "Ahhh Crappo! We forgot to isolate one leg of the wye.":o :o :o

It wasn't all work though as we also told a bunch of fishing lies and discussed and settled all the world problems. I think CJ got so excited about the fishing he had to launch his boat today.

KENL: The secret to getting CJ to do any work is to fill him up with about two pots of coffee. He's then so wound up you can't hold him back.:D :D

Rex: Watch what ya say about the coffee, the others will be outbidding you for my services!:D

Fellas, we had a blast yesterday!:D:D:D But you talk about a rookie mistake. Trouble is we both missed it.:o:o:o

But after the "error" was fixed, that Class A 2-6-6-4 sure looked sweet going around that wye!:D:D:D

Can't wait until the area is fully operational, the operator(s) of that area will have their hands FULL!:p:D

So I got my 2006 AMA membership package today, and I swear, every year the pin they give you gets all that much smaller! First year it was about an inch in size, then a little less then 1/2 for year 2, now year 3's is smaller then the turtle clip that goes on the back of the pin! I hope they get bigger soon, or they'll end up smaller then the needle portion of the pin soon. BUT I did get a new window decal for my car, considering last years was an "outside" style, sticker, and its on the cover or my laptop now, this year's can go in my car, and its a static cling style, so it can come off if I get a new car.

Off to find a smog check station...

The club plans to run mainly O gauge what else is there . Oh okay we did talk about having a HO layout also but it probally will be about 1/2 the size of the O gauge as we have 21 members 18 O gaugeand I think 3 are HO . I said we should give them 1/6 the space as they only make up 1/6 the membership but we decieded if we do a HO at all we will give them about 1/2 the space we have.
