Some ho modelers being too rigid

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I am simply fascinated when Any steam locomotive gets to haul fright in modern times! 😃 Love this!

You'll love this too then.

This locomotive was involved in a track construction project.

A Br.52 pulls a short freight in this video:

And another; a Br.50 out to stretch its legs with a rake of gondolas.

The Germans regularly use museum locomotives to haul freight to get them out of the train shed every now and then. I think it's wonderful that they go to the trouble to maintain these locomotives for revenue service.

Btw the guys that were upset have told Us that we are not invited to any run sessions that they may be having because they have strict rules of what can be run on any of the sessions they have. They said they would come back to our sessions if we abided by their rules.

How do you guys think that went over?
Honestly, that's just all the more funny.

Upset Model railroaders: "We are not coming back to your layout unless you do things exactly like We say!... 😠 Even if its your railroad...Your clearly not fit to run it in your state of mind! Two different eras on one layout, whos ever heard of such things..."

David: 😶 ...

Yes, this is great! Thanks for sharing Michael.

This is exactly why I like railroads all over the world. I have thought of maybe collecting some of the German steam. Just let me find a Marklin lot...
This is why you should run what you like! Despite what certain modelers say... If you want to run in one era only that's fine, but don't tell "friends" what to do on their layout!

I like steam but that doesn't mean I don't run early diesels. I don't really care for modern era but won't dare say anything about someone else's trains that they bring to an operating session (which sounds like a greet and meet).

IF the owner says bring whatever, then do it and the others that don't like it, too bad, but it is too bad that they left instead of staying and just enjoying the trains. Even if you don't really care for what others have brought. Heck, I wouldn't, I'm not running their trains, I'm running my stuff that I brought and having fun.

Hope you all had fun anyway and enjoyed getting together with other modelers.

My thought would be go to theirs with the right era engine let’s say the 70’s and have a sound system in it and be able to play some hard rock music from the same era. That would be prototype and say the engineer has a big boombox he takes with him. That should make it that you won’t get asked back but would be so fun to do
Don't forget the bell bottoms!

If you get a Rapido locomotive with factory sound, the owner of the company has included some specific, definitely not prototypical sound files in the decoder for you to torment the nitpickers with.

I probably would have showed them this:
