While I was out doing yard work Murphy decided it was a good time to take a nap.

I saw something today that made me extremely happy.

The next door neighbor with the trashy yard, big mouth, and Ford turbo Diesel planted a For Sale sign in the yard from a local realtor within the last couple of days. It appears in Zillow, Realtor, com, and others.

He'll never get what he's asking with the bump in interest rates that just happened, but hopefully someone will buy that place.
Reminds me of the movie "Moving" with Richard Pryor.

Well, today started at 215 AM to get to the Denver Airport, then to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and then to Little Rock Airport. Stopped at Firehouse Subs on the way home. Got home, I ran to the Post Office/Grocery Store/Gunstore [to check my schedule] while Lady C started laundry. Had ramen for dinner and am now catching up from a week and a half of traveling Colorado. A little over 1,000 miles on our rented Nissan Pickup as we went from North to South. Incredibly beautiful scenery, but feels really good to be home.
It was 77 on the way home, had the windows down and enjoying not being in the upper 90s when we got home.

I posted some info on UPS rate increases a few days ago.

Now USPS has stepped it up. Seems they just got a "temporary" increase a few weeks ago.
From October 4th to January 17th, USPS is temporarily raising rates to account for peak season demand. Prices are going up for everything except international services and Media Mail.

Here’s how much rates are increasing:

Ground Advantage (weight-based)

  • All other Flat Rate products: $0.85 increase

Forgot to add shopping too while bored. Was thinking of getting rid of my Weber gas grill and getting one of these two stage burners since that’s the only thing I use.

But, I will need a stand and wind breaker for it, so the gas grill will have a new function.

I am also keeping my shopping cart at Rails of Sheffield alive by adding to it constantly until I can get my credit card number. I’ll just delete the extra items. I just hope that loco remains in stock for one more day. Unless one of you can do me a heavy… nah just joking!

A sample photo:

What you don't see is behind the camera. A folded up lawn mower that's been sitting in the same spot for two months. An oil change container I would imagine is still full after at least a month. An old oil filter close by. A kitchen 15 gallon trash can, no lid, an old wooden kitchen chair missing half of the back. Etc., etc.

Could be worse.

This is what I see towards the NW, still like this 2.5 years after the tornado.

Louis - On this day 1957 the "Bums" made their move.
A dark day, but California baseball has been good for the game.

How about 23-year-old Lucas Spence? He became the third player in MLB history to hit his first three career homers in the same game! Including a solo shot in the seventh that broke a tie. Lucas drove in five runs to send the Astros to a crucial 7-5 win over the A’s at Sutter Health Park.

The win kept the Astros (79-80) in a first-place tie atop the American League West with the Rangers, who beat the Mets earlier Thursday. The Astros have the tiebreaker over Texas and continue to control their own destiny with three games remaining in the regular season. Houston has three more against the A’s, while Texas begins a three-game series at the Twins on Friday.

The way things seem to work is, your new neighbor will have a pair of pickups with 12 valve Cummins, and garbage-can exhausts sticking up through the beds. Mufflers optional...
