Well, typhoon 26 is making an unfortunate right turn and will be gaining strength. At least i will be at home for this one.

Good morning all!

Happy Friday!

Currently its 60F with light drizzle falling. Not supposed to last long at all. It will become partly sunny and a high of 66F. I see low 70s return
by the weekend.

A few household things to get done this morning. Other than that, should hopefully be a low key day.

Have a safe day everyone!

57°F and partly cloudy this morning. Glad to be sleeping through the night except for the 0345 turbo Diesel wake-up call this morning, but I managed to drift off again. I don't much like sleeping on my back, but it seems very conducive to dropping off after lights out.

I did laundry unexpectedly yesterday when I dropped a small piece of bar-b-q on my shirt, but it needed doing anyway. I just haven't been to motivated to do much at all until I get these tubes out of me.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Servus!

Yeah, i don't blame you, after all, having extra dangling bits is not a natural thing...

On my back is my preferred position. The surgery requires me to sleep on my side, so i need to prop my head up with their bean bag pillow and then hope my shoulder survives. I am surprised that i wake up in the same position as i normally tend to do somersaults in my sleep.

Well, a good day and good news that i will be making my escape tomorrow. Wife was able to convince the doc to get us outa here around lunch time vice the mid-afternoon that they were planning for. So i have a meeting with the doc at 0830:

Time to catch up on some missed sleep from last night. See.youz all l8tr.

Wow, it's 59 here right now! Loving it. Only supposed to get to 72 today. Got a caboose and a couple on Amtrak cars arriving today according to USPS. Andra's diverticulitis flared up bad late last night so she is really hurting badly right now. And she is supposed to be coordinating a wedding tomorrow. Not a good combination. And while we were gone, I got the idea to possibly change the track plan on my small N scale layout. I need more coffee....

Good morning from Wisconsin.

Reducing my time again online as it has been creeping up.

We were supposed to be in Louisville today but the flooding conditions affected where we were headed so we cancelled. This will be the 1st full weekend home this month.

I did not watch the Packers. We did watch volleyball from the UW Fieldhouse in the Big Ten Network. #6 Wisconsin beat #20 Oregon. Today we will watch the 2 time defending NCAA champion Women’s hockey team open the season in Canton, New York. They are going for title #9 in 20 years and 5th in the last 8. We are spoiled. We kept our season tickets for hockey but did not renew the Volleyball tickets.

Enjoy your day

Good Morning All. Clear and 69°, headed up to just 91° today. Rain that was originally in the forecast for Sunday has now been removed; still there for Wednesday-Friday, maybe heavy. But seeing is believing. My trees need it badly.

Yesterday's grocery trek wasn't anything special; groceries, gas, Vitamin Shop, pharmacy and post office. Cost of gasoline has dropped with regular now at $3.79/gal everywhere. Vitamin Shop had a buy one get a second one half price, so we got some stuff that we didn't need yet. IH35 construction continues with a new entrance opening up near UNT, replacing one that they closed about 14 months ago. That project is one of four separate projects that I deal with on IH35; I have a fifth on the state highway between me and the highway itself. There will be another major one on IH35 pretty soon as soon as they finish up some of the current ones. Basically they are widening IH35 between Denton Texas and the Oklahoma state line and totally replacing the 55 year old IH35E/IH35W merge. They project finishing the current ones by 2029. Not sure when they will start the pending one, since all of the major contractors are already quite busy.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I eased back into the modeling mode by pulling out the figure painting palette. Used 4 or 5 colors on about a dozen figures while I decide on the next big project; or small one for that matter. Still looking for a couple more trees to add to the area that I am still finishing, but that area is essentially done. Regarding the figure painting, my dentist gave me some expired dental picks the other day that I can use while painting things like belts, ties, suspenders and other small details. Heck, I may even try my hand at mustaches or eyeballs! The previously opened pack of picks was dated 2007.

Troy -Good luck at the Ortho doc today. Looks like PT and painkillers is your treatment.
That's quite a CD haul. That first disc of that Bowie CD set is very good, second one starts out good but goes downhill from there, in my humble opinion.
David (Marlin) - Continued best wishes for Nikki, coming your way from me.

No notable rock & roll birthdays today, unless you count the late composer Shel Silverstein, ("A Boy Named Sue"; "The Cover Of The Rolling Stone"); who was born on this day in 1930.

Everyone have a fine Friday.

Well, back from the Ortho visit with complications... maybe.

PA and a Surgeon came in after reading the MRI. Surgeon was friendly and not rushing to apply a surgery, until he asked me to heel walk. I've got good foot drop on the affected side.

He said he would give me 3-4 weeks of PT to see if we can get it to improve, if not, then time to snip off the herniation on the disk because it can permanently damage the nerve and make the tingling or foot drop permanent.

Stopped by the PT office as they were trying to call me... gave them the new PT orders and the MRI document. PT on Mon and thurs next week.

I'll be doing my exercises through the weekend.

OH, and if I do need to do the surgery, I have to go through the Carrum health network... and there are no docs in my area. It's a 2 or 3 hour drive to get to any of their network.

So, we want to avoid surgery.

Fortunately, the PT was like... We'll get this knocked out if you do the work... get your ass in here and do your exercises.

I'm posting this with a heavy heart...

As much as I love collecting, building and running my model trains, and hanging out around the tracks, and taking pictures, it takes up too much of my time and I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics such as cleaning and taking care of my home, so something has to give. I will be getting rid of my collection.

Below is a list of what's available. Serious inquiries only please and don't insult me with your offers.
Thanks for reading and understanding...

1. Dustpan and broom
2. Sponges
3. Dusters
4. Mop and bucket
5. Window cleaner
6. Vacuum
7. Dish washing liquid
8. Laundry detergent
9. Fabric softener
10. Laundry baskets
11. Toilet brush
12. Cleaning sprays
13. Scrubbing brushes
14. Lawnmower

Found the above on another site and just had to... - thanks BoxCab!

Good Morning All!
50F @ 80% partly.

Should be able to finish the Chick/Goat house wiring in a bit, then lick my fingers and plug stuff in. After that, interior wall(s) are in order. Should be pretty simple - top ~4ft is wire mesh so we can see in, bot ~4ft is OSB all on 24" center studs @ 9ft wide with ~3ft left for entrance gates.

I went on a once in a lifetime vacation. Never again!

Hopefully that house will be a quick sale, and that noisy diesel will be someone else's wake-up in the near future!

I really hope so. He'll never get what he's asking though. He wants $115,000 in a neighborhood full of $60K-$70K homes. No way, no how. There's absolutely nothing special about that house. Every house on this street is a story and a half with basement. His is a single-level with basement. Square footage is two thirds of what any other house on this street is.

With interest rates recently bumped, he'll be lucky to get an offer of $75K.

Good luck to you and hope the PT works and you can avoid the surgery. My 6' 2" buddy had his back operated on out here in Japan and while the surgery went well, when they were moving him from the operating table to the gurney, they dropped him because he weighed more than they expected. Since then he has lost a lot of weight so that has helped.

Geez, where are you again? For that amount, I'd be your neighbor. Part-time of course.

Good morning all, today is Exodus day and I can't wait. my wife told me something yesterday that I thought was interesting and showed the cultural and personality differences between people. She said that on the elevator ride, she overheard one of the other patients complaining that the nurses were scary. I thought about that and told her that some of the nurses are rough in the way they speak, but I never thought of them as mean. To me, they just spoke quickly and to the point, which is what I am used to. So I told her my perspective and she understood. Two of the nurses that I had were tougher than the others but again no problem to me. The rest of them were young and cute.
