I was always fortunate enough to be able to hire or promote people who could do their jobs, or mine while I was on vacation, without me looking over their shoulder. Hence no need to call me while I wasn't in the office. I realize that not everyone has that opportunity.
That was my philosophy too. Hire competent people, let them do their jobs. Stay out of the way while they do. I was pretty high in the food chain though. The buck stopped with me most of the time. Things were structured so that didn’t happen much, but at that level, you’re pretty much always on duty.

I had to carry my phone as I was commissioned when I got my 1st bag phone. But later when I did more management like WILLIE, I had a great well trained staff. It was after I retired that the calls started coming asking for advice. Management hired a friend with no experience in customer service to replace me and let both my assistants go. It stopped about 8 months after I retired when I sent my brother an invoice for consulting. They paid it!

Good Morning All. Clear and 79°, should head hit 100°+ again today. Maybe only 98° tomorrow. Rain chance has been moved back to Monday now, with just a 40% chance. That will probably disappear by the time next week gets here. It was only a hallucination from the NWS to begin with.
Incredibly, the pool is still at 88°. very warm for this time of year. I'll use it until it drops to ~80° although the lower limit for my wife is 84°. My guess is that Mike in northern Illinois has stopped using his by now.

Rather boring day here yesterday, the usual household stuff both indoors and out. Much of the same today with the dishwasher to start up with. I have an 11:00 dental hygienist appointment to break up the day. Medical stuff restarts tomorrow with maybe a second epidural for the spinal stenosis. I didn't stop my blood thinner quite in time, so it may be delayed.

I spent the entire time out in the train shed yesterday, under the layout's lower level. I wired all of the structures in the just completed area to the lighting buss terminals. No lighting buss wiring to that section yet, but that's part of the future. I am however questioning the wisdom of going through all of this lighting fuss. I never run anything at night without the layout room lights on to begin with, so all of the structural lighting is never seen unless testing! After straightening up after emerging from the abyss underneath, I ran a few trains.

Kusojiji -
Wife told me I need to put my name on everything in case it gets stolen in the hospital.
What the hell kind of hospital is that???
Michael - Yes, hospital food is excellent, at least at the place that I have stayed at. But the reason for eating it to begin with is always disconcerting.
Troy - Great looking sandwich!
Tasty, but I resorted to a knife and fork to eat it.
i once had a vendor from Pennsylvania come into town, and we went to lunch at an upscale place to eat. He ordered the Texas-Fried Chicken and then ate it with a knife and fork. Our Engineering manager (originally from Chile) who went along, laughed about that for a week afterwards.
Alan - None of my eight implants were covered by insurance. Pricey to say the least!
Tom O - Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Musical birthdays today include drummer/vocalist Joe Butler from the Lovin' Spoonful who is 85 today. Ron Blair, bassist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers is 78 today. Kenney Jones, drummer/vocalist for Small Faces/The Faces, and The Who, is also 78 today. And the late BB King was born on this day in 1925. Together they would make a great band.

Everybody have a great Wednesday.

Good morning folks and Happy Birthday to those appropriate.
Nice night's rest last night, looking forward to a trip to a local arboretum today, then find a spot for dinner. Just saw the news where a helicopter has crashed in LA while filming another accident.
On the topic of weather, the Birch trees are turning here and it is making for some beautiful scenery with those gold leaves among the darker green of the other trees. We have a Nissan Frontier Pickup for our travels, it is a really nice smaller truck with very comfortable seats. Not gonna replace my Carnival, but it is a nice change out.
Marco, looking forward to seeing your new products.
Anyway, you guys have a great day.

I can see if it’s a U.S. base hospital but if it’s a Japanese hospital I very much doubt anything will get stolen. While there are exceptions like really touristy areas in Tokyo, in most places, you lose your wallet, it gets turned in to the cops and nothing is missing. Drop your phone on the bullet train and their lost and found will have it.

Well, the Ortho practice is driving me nuts today.

Heard back from the gatekeepers at the practice....

Getting an MRI request taken care of normally takes 7-10 business days... for someone to call you and tell you what is next...

That tells me they don't want to lose the insurance money, and are trying to get my insurance to pay. But, we already know the insurance wants to see 6 weeks of PT before they'll approve an MRI.

I wrote out a grumpy email response, then fed it to ClaudAI and had it more professional, and sent that off.

It should take less than an hour for a clerk to send the orders to the off-site, non affiliated imaging center. I'm paying out of pocket for this. This is NOT a 7-10 day turn around job.

Right? So lame! I guess the culture is to be the happy, silent victim. Just like with the kids, if a wierdo is hanging out near a school, instead of getting rid of the wierdo (and that person is known for a while) by calling the police, they call the parents instead and they have to come and pick the kids up.

I'm going to get a motion light for the room. If my camera picks something up, I'll be calling the police and not let the hospital handle it. This has got to stop. Maybe I go on FNN and make some drama.

Japanese hospital
Years ago, I'd have believed that, but not any more. Kids are rampant with no caring and no supervision. Parenting by society over here. A lot of punks, losers, and petty crimes.

Daughter works in a hospital and she said that theft is common, but yet, nobody does anything. First thing I'm going to check for is any security camera. They post a guard at the main doors after hours, so it has to be an inside job.

Well, we planned to go to the wings place tonight, so the wife could have a tenderloin sammich.

Got there and the parking lot was mostly full at 5:15... then we remembered, it's Trivia night with a DJ... we don't trivia, and don't need loud anything with dinner...

So down the road we went to the next place that wasn't Pizza.

I had a sammich (meats, marinara, and mozz on flatbread), wife had the spaghetti Parm (half order) and we both brought half our dinners home.
