Acetone is extremely aggressive on the vast majority of plastics/polymers. Be very careful and rinse thoroughly/excessively when done.
I believe it’s also flammable. Which may be a plus , depending on what you’re using it for.

I’ve used acetone to try and remove old CA glue. Acetone IIRC is used to clean up CA but once’s it’s hardened it’s harder but over time it will soften it some.

There was something else I was using acetone for but I forget. Some sort of tool that was gunked up and 24 hours in a jar of acetone softened it enough.

Always test it on a spare piece of material.

Good afternoon, wow 2 pages since the morning post.

Back from the movie Downton Abbey, the Grande Finale. Ok this the 3rd DA movie I have seen. But, I have still not seen 1 episode of the TV series and it so shall remain. What a great Crew of actors! I bet 3/4 of the ladies in the theater were crying the last 20 minutes of the show including the ever stoic wife…

Dinner out in a couple hours, another Kilwin’s chocolate stop to buy even more goodies and then a Baskin Robbin’s ice cream stop. I didn’t even know we had a BK in the area. Terry is going through the $35 coupon book that we buy every year to support the UW scholarship programs. Hey $5 to $15 off or BOGO coupons are good deals if you use them. When we 1st purchased a book in 2014 it was a way for us to use the coupon, find decent eateries and check out the area. We eat out a couple times a week anyway so why not! It’s been very good for us. This year’s book ends 9/30 so we are finishing up. We have next year’s book already to start 10/1.

Possible work session tomorrow but I need a ride and I’m waiting for a response on that. If not Wednesday the same layout is having another session I definitely can go to on Friday

So I went back and tried to replicate the same scene as it is today.

LATER

Ok I had this problem a few years back, and then it self rectified.
I was looking at old photos for a new thread I started
And bingo! The problem has re appeared
Let sleeping dogs lie….any you’ll see the problem…..
Once the jokes run out …Troy already noticed this on my main layout thread….
Does anyone have a solution….because otherwise I may be stuffed
So here goes….
So….let’s see if my iPad can stop clowning around….apparantly not…sighs….

Good evening. Today was a mild day in Jersey. Still warm, when I stepped out about an hour ago. Neighborhood very quiet tonight. My kitchen skills are getting better, as the wife deals with the Shingles. So are some of my household skills.
According to the forecast, we should have rain off and on through Friday.

More progress on my Flour mill project.

Where the heck did acetone in my post come from? I never mentioned acetone !

I said 99% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. I would NEVER put plastic parts in acetone for paint removal.

Acetone will melt plastic. It is often used for gluing plastic models together and works well for joining plexiglass.

On another note :

Claudia Cardinale, the sexy Italian movie star who appeared in classic Italian films including Fellini’s “8½” and Visconti’s “Rocco and His Brothers” and “The Leopard,” Sergio Leone’s spaghetti Western “Once Upon a Time in the West,” as well as “The Pink Panther,” has died. She was 87.

Once Upon a Time in the West is one of my favorite movies. Claudia was a "looker" for sure.

Racoon #2 expired in the trap today. His/her remains were placed in some nearby woods for an "open casket" burial. And racoon #2 wrecked the trap just like racoon #1. A trip to the car wash to clean out the trap again and more repairs tomorrow. I'm not fooling with it tonight. I'll reset the trap tomorrow night as racoons are known to live in groups of 4 to 7 or so.

Not really feeling like spending time in the train room, just tired today.

Everyone have a pleasant evening....John
