No live GB Packer watching today as they also play at noon. No way to hide from the score as it will be everywhere and watch it unsurprised later. This is Wisconsin, just about everywhere we go today it will be being discussed
Are Green Bay fans the best or what!

With my sleep schedule I consider it a treat when I see a live game.

Oktoberfest went well yesterday.
I know you had brats, but did you have a pretzel?

Good morning, Everybody!

Another Sweet Sunday! Bonus points if you know what boardgame that comes from.

The hot water is ready for my instant coffee. I already finished the pot of Columbian coffee my wife made for me. I had my obligatory 20oz of water and a 24oz glass of iced tea mixed with ginger ale. It's coffee time!

Soon it will be time to enjoy my Sunday newspaper. The real kind you can hold.

@chadbag It turns out I am a bit of a mixer too. I mentioned my iced tea mixed with ginger ale. I also mix Maxwell House Original Roast instant coffee with Aldi's decaffeinated instant coffee. Aldi ran out of regular instant coffee, I tried it, and I liked it. I picked up Hills Bros. Double Mocha sugar free Capuchino for my wife, but she didn't like it. So, I put a teaspoon of that in as well. It's good!

I live like the rich and famous!

Time to get off my 🫏 and make a cup of coffee. I could ask my wife to do it, but I can manage walking a few yards to do it. God knows she does too much for me already.

I'll be back!

This is the stuff right here, best senf I ever tasted. I didn't buy any this year, but now I'm going to.

Good morning. A pleasant, Sunday along the Jersey Shore. Not for nothing, the real allure of Autumn, is the run of consecutive pleasant days. Those who are enamored with changing and falling leaves, either live in Condos or Apartments or Treeless city neighborhoods, where they don't have to deal with fallen tree debris.

Nine days remain in this year's regular baseball season. Teams that clinched their desired position are mailing it in to avoid injury, while teams eliminated from the playoffs are playing out the string. Only a few "Meaningful" games remain. The Cleveland Indians have one 10 straight and are only 1 game behind the failing Detroit Tigers, in the AL Central. Seattle is close to taking the West as Houston flails, while in the East, the Yankees (2 games back), and Red Sox (4 games back) have a chance of catching the stumbling Toronto Blue jays (lost 4 straight). The Blue Jays have discovered the Maple Leafs secret for Choking late in the season!

In Not for Long action the Jersey Jets travel to Tampa Bay for an opportunity to lose to the Buccaneers, while tonight, the KC Chiefs get to feast on the (nor so gigantic) Football Giants at the Meadowlands. The Metropolitan Area, is the Toronto of the NFL, blessed with not one but two losing football teams, one of which has not won a Stupor Bowl since 1969....Just three years less than the Maple Leafs! Giants haven't won since 2012.....

Tropical Storm Gabrielle, according to the NWS - Hurricane Center "Cone of Uncertainty", seems to be projected to run into the coast of Portugal, Spain or France some time late next week.

Hope today goes better for us than yesterday did. Hope everyone has a great day.

Right after I graduated with my culinary degrees I worked under a Bavarian chef, at a private business club, in the middle of Silicon Valley This was the only mustard he allowed in the kitchen when we did Oktoberfest & Mayfest. Spaten and Paulaner were the only beers allowed. I still remember the buffets we set up with 40+ items. Everything from bündnerfleisch to eisbein.

When Renee was promoted to F&B Director I was promoted to Executive Chef. If I didn't continue to do things his way it was an insult to his heritage and I was a "shoemaker".

Good Morning All. Overcast and 74°, probably hitting at least 90° today, a little cooler than yesterday. Morning showers are in today's forecast, but looking at the radar, unless something changes, they will track a bit north of here...not by much though.

Spent yesterday morning hauling and stacking firewood, no cutting or splitting. Depending on the weather, I should be returning to the cutting grind today. I also have at least a dozen pieces that are too big to fit through the heater door that need to be split. Probably made the last visit to the pool last evening, as the cloudy days coming up will keep it from heating up after the temperature drops overnight.
I might get to the dishwasher today before leaving for church, or I may catch up on some other threads on this forum.

Not much time out in the train shed yesterday. I just wasn't in the mood, which is rare. I did pull out the palette of figures, intending to do some more with the band members, but I didn't do anything. At least I now know which arms go with which bodies.

Tom O - I am height challenged at 5'4", so my lower level is at 36" and upper level is at 54". The lower level is also at that height because I have grandkids who sometimes operate on that level. I still use portable risers to work on the upper level when needed.
Troy - Good luck with avoiding the migraine.

Everyone have a great Sunday. I'll be grilling later today. Got to remember to click on "Post Reply".

Good morning all!

Should be a fairly pleasant day out today. Currently 71F heading up to 80F. Yesterdays several rounds of storms left about 1.5"
in the rain gauge which is good, we needed it badly. looks like maybe some more will fall later this evening.

Volleyball tournament yesterday was good. They played their hearts out and ended up winning 2 and losing 2. They were just outgunned
by a couple of the bigger schools, but hung in there to at least make it close. Everyone was in good spirits on the ride home and
got to hit Culvers for dinner on the way home.

Not much else going on around here. Have a grocery run to make today. Saturday is the usual day, but we had the tournament all day.
Laundry is already spinning and drying.

Have a safe day everyone!

If you are ever in Baltimore stop by and we can play some games.
I would love that!
My grandson loves the old classic boardgames from the 1970s. Masterpiece is his favorite.
My daughter loved board games when she was younger. We would play several nights each week. We still have a closet full of the older games. Candyland, Clue, Monopoly, and Monopoly Jr. Chutes and ladders, and probably several more.

Sadly they grow up and that kind of thing is no longer "cool"

At least I have the memories!

The Washington Commanders host the Las Vegas Raiders today at 1pm in Northwest Stadium. My how things change.

My Orioles will try to win the final game to split the four-game series with the NY Yankees at 1:35pm In Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

I'll be watching the NFL because the Orioles' game is blacked out live on MLB.TV I must wait until 90 minutes after it is over to watch the replay.

Have an enjoyable day Everybody!

As Dawn says, "HER bairns are growing up."

The Last Time

From the moment you hold your baby in your arms,
you will never be the same.
You might long for the person you were before,
When you have freedom and time,
And nothing in particular to worry about.

You will know tiredness like you never knew it before,
And days will run into days that are exactly the same,
Full of feeding and burping,
Nappy changes and crying,
Whining and fighting,

Naps or a lack of naps,
It might seem like a never-ending cycle.
But don’t forget …
There is a last time for everything.

There will come a time when you will feed
your baby for the very last time.
They will fall asleep on you after a long day
And it will be the last time you ever hold your sleeping child.

One day you will carry them on your hip then set them down,
And never pick them up that way again.
You will scrub their hair in the bath one night
And from that day on they will want to bathe alone.

They will hold your hand to cross the road,
Then never reach for it again.
They will creep into your room at midnight for cuddles,
And it will be the last night you ever wake to this.
One afternoon you will sing “the wheels on the bus”
and do all the actions,
Then never sing them that song again.

They will kiss you goodbye at the school gate,
The next day they will ask to walk to the gate alone.
You will read a final bedtime story and wipe your last dirty face.
They will run to you with arms raised for the very last time.

The thing is, you won’t even know it’s the last time
Until there are no more times.
And even then, it will take you a while to realise.
So while you are living in these times,
remember there are only so many of them
and when they are gone, your heart will yearn for just one more day of them.....

One Last Time …....................
