Greetings from the house of aspie!!!
Getting to love a website called broadcastify get the local emergency personell and of course the railroad pulled up. I do need to know how do you figure out the milepost that is closest to you. listening to it while the Notre Dame game is on a weather delay. I'm planning my ho scale layout I'm considering copying/taking inspiration from a layout on YouTube I have 2 2foot x 6foot fold up card tables so. Im sitting in my chair as I order some pizza.

hope everyone is having a good day God bless you all until next tiem

Ugh... now the jaw ache is right on the edge of one of those temple (side of head) headaches that might go full migraine. I haven't had one for 15 years (and rarely got them).... can't wait for this weather system to move on. The front has barely shifted.

I'll just be in my chair, in the dark, listening to Exotica music.

Good evening. It's hot and humid, and getting dark.
The helpers were done at 10:AM, so no beer at either end of the run. I've spent the rest of the day removing the previous owner's stuff that I don't need, want, or have room for, and trying to cram my stuff in. And finding a few things they kind of forgot to tell me. I went back and cleaned the trailer, and shut off the air conditioners and fresh water supply, so we don't have any surprises there. I'm headed to the showers, and then going to bed.

Good afternoon to all on the forum............

I haven't posted much lately as not much going on, just feeling tired or having to do everyday chores.

My raccoon trap from Tractor Supply arrived via FedEx today so I hope to have a big fat "bandit faced" critter ready for a relocation plan, hopefully as soon as tomorrow.
Tractor Supply had the large traps for $49.95 each but they had a combo trap set, large trap and a smaller "squirrel sixed" trap for $39.95. Two traps for $10.00 less than just one? Shipping, taxes and all totaled to $51.35, just a buck forty more than the price of the single large trap.

I had to move (relocate) a couple of mainlines on my layout. In doing so I had to insert a new six inch long section of track. I have Micro Engineering, code 83 in this area. But when I tried to insert the six inch section of the micro engineering track, the rail joiners did not fit. Seems the rail flanges were too wide to fit the joiners. I found three other pieces of track with this issue before finding a piece that the rail joiners fit. Poor quality control I guess. But I have switched to Peco Streamline, code 83 track so I should not have any more issues like that.

My bottle of AMMO "light wood" colored paint arrived Friday, Sept 19 after being sent on a Grand Tour of the Southeast United States courtesy of the USPS. I guess I should be happy it arrived here instead of being lost in the system for all eternity.

The last time I ate at a Chinese buffet was about 16 years ago. I quit the buffet scene when I saw a young child reaching into the buffet food with his hands, feeding himself and moving on down to the next item. Not a soul tried to stop this child. I had to wonder, how many times had this happened before?
I have ate at a Golden Corral on several occasions since that incident 16 years ago but Golden Corral is strict on keeping children away from the buffet tables, at least the Golden Corral I attended in Dallas. I have seen the manager at the G.C. I ate at tell some adults to keep their children seated while the adults filled their plates.

I am working on a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 repair project but I'll report on the results of that project in another thread.

Well thats about all I've got for today.........John

If you haven't experienced a live racoon in a trap before, I advise wearing heavy gloves when picking up and handling the trap. They can get their hands with those very sharp claws through the mesh of a Havahart trap, if that's the type that you got. Good luck and take it at least 8 miles away or it will be back...or so I have read.

I did have one of mine that the motor failed on, and after explaining that mine had a more detailed and custom decorated shell, Bachmann sent me a new motor under warranty, rather than me sending them the loco back. It was an adventure for sure, but doable. Good luck !

25 years ago in NH we had we had a gray squirrel coming down the chimney into the house. (It was a rental house and the fireplace was not being used). I got one of those havahart r whatever it''s called traps and was able to capture it. I drove like a mile away and let it go. It was back the next day.

I caught it again and this time I drove like 15 miles away and let it go in the parking lot of a Circuit City or similar type store. (I was in west Merrimack and I drove to S Nashua).

He was not back. That was the end of that.

Though I did find the space where the electrical breaker box was -- it was inside a framed extension thing with a door on it -- was full of stuff below the breaker box. I cleaned it out and there were some dead squirrels or other animals amountgst all the other wood, rags, and trash that had accumulated. Probably got in there and died 20 years before. They didn't smell much as they'd been in there so long.

I'm up... coffee is brewed. The good stuff, not the mad priest medium roast masquerading as dark.

Made it through the night with no brain attacks. But as I sit here, I can feel the edge of it still lingering. I'll skip the game store today.

Migraine triggers are being excised, other than coffee (drinks with caffeine), to get over this. Then I can add them back one at a time over a slow time frame.

It's clean the cat boxes day, along with the regular trash. By "clean" I mean dump the litter and add fresh.

I might nap. We'll see what the wife wants to do for lunch. I'm hoping for Giordanos pizza.

Good morning all. A large coffee on the go please, Flo.
After 24 hours the rain has stopped. A thing called the sun is in the sky.

Oldest grandson stayed overnight and is going home after lunch.

I have arthritis in my left hand. Yesterday I could feel it in my right hand. Another challenge to overcome.

Good morning. 65f degrees now 75 later with possible rain this afternoon.

We are going to the Wisconsin/Florida volleyball game. #6Badgers vs #15Florida at noon. Not in the UW Fieildhouse but in the gigantic Kohl Center. Last time these 2 met they set a then NCAA volleyball attendance record of over 17,000 in the Kohl Center in 2022. That record has been beaten now 3 times and today they are only figuring 12,000. Still it should be a good match

No live GB Packer watching today as they also play at noon. No way to hide from the score as it will be everywhere and watch it unsurprised later. This is Wisconsin, just about everywhere we go today it will be being discussed

After the VB game we are gift chocolate shopping (at Kilwin’s a national chain), artesian bread shopping and later tonight dinner out with friends to celebrate their anniversary #3.

2 friends should be here at 8am. I’ve pretty settle that IF I really add another level to the layout I have to drop the 52” level I have to 40-42”. I do not want to add floor risers around the layout. But that is why the guys are coming over, we will figure it out.

Enjoy the day

What a beautiful machine!

Just back from a minor grocery run. Wasn't sure if I had enough kitty litter to change the boxes.

While there, a box of Oatmeal raisin cookies fell into the cart.

That's my story, and I'm sticking with it!

Told the wife I wanted to go eat lunch somewhere, and that ruined her plans of staying home and eating pancakes.

I'm still thinking gooey Giordanos pizza. Not pancakes. We'll see what she decides.

67°F/66°F this morning. Oktoberfest went well yesterday. I didn't get to watch any of it on German TV. No one was broadcasting it which I found very strange. I'm going to check again today and see if any broadcaster is going to have a table for interviews and other talk.

The balloon race in St. Louis was cancelled with storms rolling through yesterday. We naturally were skipped over again and didn't see a drop. It is supposed to rain today again, but I'll believe that when I see it happening.

You all have a great Sunday! Prost!
