Who likes Chinese but thinks it is expensive
100g long grain rice per person, wash put in pan, cover with water and boil, if necessary as water dries test taste if it is chewy add more carry on until cooked. Sit on one side.
Mean time chop onion garlic, and add 25g of sesame oil to a frying pan fry gently, other veg optional peas or sone frozen stir fry, baby sweet corn, beans;routs water chestnut, 10g cashews each person, once onions start browning add other veg
Mix one egg per person in a bowl add nothing, once onions etc mostly cooked push to one side check enough oil and add egg, once mostly cooked stir the egg once cooked thru mix with veg pushed to one side
Now add rice and mix, test taste if sesame oil not detectable add 12g per person more I would avoid an oily finish
Once played and test tasted addlight soy and/or dark soy to taste avoid too much
Light soy saltier in my opnion, dark soy a touch strong but covers any lack or slight
burning - best avoided
You can serve by itself or a side dish meat or you could add chicken at the fried onion stage, smaller meat = less loss of sesame oil during cooking
Yum yum, yes I know I added photo recently it tastes scrumpy and I keep getting repeat orders, plus I now have frozen peas look much nicer and sone stir fry and sone cashews - you have to watch straw forks stealing your cashews!!!
FYI I had lamb kebab balls and chicken kebab as the side - it was requested, and was surpringly not a bad mix. For uk diners I use colmans mix
