I need a brush like the attached photo but either narrower so I can stick it in the gap and clean the back wall of the gap or with longer bristles.

It doesn’t have to be exactly like this one. I have one from home depot that has three rows of bristles and that’s fine but the plastic head is too fat to fit in the gap so that the bristles don’t reach the back wall. So either narrower head or linger bristles. Probably like 3/4” or something. Maybe 5/8” would work.

Stainless steel bristles are best but brass would work.

Anyone know where to find something like this as modified above? I’ve searched on amazon but have’s seen anything.

Head can be longer if the bristles can come straight out from the handle like a paintbrush.

I’m trying to clean out some gunk and misapplied waterproofing that went over the gunk I didn’t see at first on our linear drain in our wet room bath.

Thanks

IPA for the win!

A little bit of "weathering" to clean, but it became chasing residue around as it dried and redeposited the green. Appreciate the recommendation @kbkchooch! I must admit that I was getting worried as I was feeling gumminess, but it must have been my fingers as the 100% IPA that I have was leaching everything out.

Good thing out here in the west is we don’t use heating oil.

I remember as a kid in New England the truck coming to fill the tank. Eventually my dad bought a wood furnace that was hooked to the oil furnace so we could use either. Wood furnace got used a lot more.
We had kerosene central heating, it was pricey
We tried oil radiators when we got the solar but deep winter could only run a few units if self sufficiency
We can still use the oil radiators and move into rooms as required but often not that much
The woodburners and self supply wood have cut the bills a lot,
125 min per metre cubed, often 150 now or more per week is average, if supplier runs low on stock prices gets scary
That’s 500 or 600 per month
So about 3000 to 3600 off set each year
That means we off set the buying and fitting in less than y years.
Maintenance and replacement parts and chimney cleaning is not included
FYI our fits income feed in tariff usage and export is just in excess of our bills for bought in electricity.
Heavy curtains are already back up in room one

Lidl likely has them seasonally and not costing much, but immediately ? Sorry no idea

Although search for suede shoe brushes, or other uses might give you a wider choice

On a less sad thought, I just looked at a thread where one of us posted, and someone asked what a “Q” was…
….ooh I was SO ‘tempted to add a picture of Startrek Q.
My hands were itching, but it was a proper thread…….so I resisted……..just.

….Sirfoldalot :(
That’s the sad fact of this hobby many of us get into it after retirement. Thus the chances of losing people you like is higher. On that thought I am going to take a break.
Oh flowers…

If I had that kind of brush and needed it to be thinner.
I would put it in a vise and cut it to size with a hack saw....... modify it the way you need it to be.
Harbor freight has them for cheap.

Well, howdy there internet peeps

It's Troy again

Here in the Fort (NE Indiana) it's going to get into "shorts weather" today. I'll probably have the short pants on all day just to save on laundry.

Update on the arthritic cat. He has not wanted to go out into our fenced patio all summer. I suspect it's from his arthritis. Yesterday, I had the back door to the patio open, but the storm door closed, window open on it to get a breeze through The main door has the pet flap, which I closed down in June after it was obvious he wasn't using it.

Well, now he wants it open. Scratching at the door. I switched the doors around and opened the cat flap again. He was out and under my chair, waiting to pounce on an unsuspecting chipmunk. The anti arthritis shot must be doing some good. He was out until I decided to move out with the laptop. Evidently I scare the chipmunks too much and disrupt his hunt. We'll see if he wants back out tomorrow.

Sending positive vibes to Terry again. Hopefully you can weather this storm as well. Are you close enough to retirement age to do SocSecurity and be a grumpy greeter at WalMart?

we have a mandatory meeting tomorrow before the place opens to tell us how long we have.
I'm not sure how that goes in the states or what your work was, but out here, a lot of the positions on base are contracted and a lot of times, a new company picks up the contract. They do try to keep the people in place and try to entice people to switch over to the new contract.

I hope they do that for you and keep you on. Best wishes for tomorrow.

(forgive me if you told us, but I do not remember)
