Tom O -
Do you know this shop? A neighbor had some business in WI, including Green Bay and Madison, last week. He said this place had the real deal German products.

I've been buying from that shop for years. The Weisswurst is particularly good as are the Nürnberger brats.

Morning all. 80°F/67°F here this morning. A rather late start getting here. Had a few pots on the stove this morning. Supposed to cool off Thursday for a high of 86°F and then go down a bit from there. I don't see those 70°s they were talking about for the end of the week, and now they are back in the 80°s range.

Picked up the new Walther and was able to break it down, clean it, and have a really good look at it.

From what I can tell, it was never holstered and has no marks anywhere on the slide that would indicate use. It has been fired, and was not cleaned afterward, but I don't think it was more than both magazines that were ran through it. It was not really dirty and had only a minimal amount of carbon under the mag feed lips, the chamber, breech block, and under the extractor. The barrel looked good too and cleaned up well.

The datecode on this Walther is BA or 2010, about the end of the run for this model before it was discontinued in 2011. The PPQ was introduced to take its place the following year, and the triggers are very similar and has no DA mode, same as the QA variant. This trigger has a long take-up and breaks cleanly at about 8 pounds. It is not a light trigger. I don't mind though with this type of trigger. The reset is about 10mm. A bit long, but useable. This trigger is nothing like the normal P99 DA/SA trigger.

This frame has the molding included that was used on the P99 TA models sent to Baden-Württemberg for their T&E by the Staats Polizei. It is barely discernable in the photos, but can be seen under the slide on both sides of the frame starting at the trigger/trigger bar pivot pin. This elongated depression was used for the ambidextrious slide release lever introduced on the PPQ which also uses this frame.

The more I learn about this variety of P99, the more I am convinced that this was a transitional pistol on its way to becoming the PPQ.

You all have a great day. I've got to get some laundry going and think about lunch.

Good afternoon all. A sunny day!
A (late) Afternoon Tea please, Flo.
Dawn has the carpets cleaned once a year. Today is the day. Also a day of clearing out things that have not been worn for some time plus anything old and worn out. (I nearly threw myself out.)

The granddaughters' are going away this weekend. Older granddaughter to a Art Class Weekend, younger granddaughter to Camp Valour.

Posting on another thread where purists had bullied people with a wider acceptance of modelling, once again highlights how good this forum is I don’t see bullying here, and know of several who would highlight just how unacceptable it is.
When can people just learn to accept to live and let live and not try to impose their will on others when their aspect does no harm
I do not know who coined the frame, “scroll on down.” in my opinion they needed a peace prize.

I often see stuff I personally would not do (sometimes just because I don’t have the skill set) but to pause and try to diminish their work is just sad.
my mum used to say if you cannot say something nice, say nothing.

I do love this forum :D

That said if I see a punch up and I think someone is just being hateful I may need waders. Although in todays climate I might just say do not escalate, if I can’t say something nice I too should scroll past. Or do the sensible thing and tell a mod.
My dad always said:

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Also:

Mind your own business. ( usually when tattling)

When being disciplined:

IS THAT CLEAR

Mint is not mint, shakes head
I grow spearmint the UK basic, for mint sauce on your roast lamb,
peppermint more rounded leaf, good for lemonade and drinks
and cat mint I bought what was labelled Thai mint and spreads like anything then the cats were like YEAH!!!! Had to get it out of the polytunnel fast! It is reasonably hardy and if it finds a cosy spot spreads nearby. Had I realised I would have avoided it like the plague.
Spearmint and pepper mint (nice for tea) are far superior.
Plus as much as I wish it did it does not deter rats to any noticeable degree.Or not enough to make it worthwhile giving them growing space, but are nice to brush up against and grab a leaf and nibble.

Growers will claim any other number of flavoured mint, banana, pineapple, chocolate other weird and some small types

Edit fyi
Look look no new post :p

We have a lot of stinging nettle. I repeatedly pull it out in some spots nut give it leeway in others, it makes a good barrier fence, mostly people do not know there’s a time when it is safe to pick or walk through (although to be fair all the plants overlap so do this cautiously !) Plus ig there is a sxxx hits the fan, the stuff is everywhere, and you can boil it and use it as a vegetable, with enough other things meat, potatoes onions most people would not know. I did once or twice shove it in stews to see if anyone noticed. no complaints, so eith my food is abominable and they did not notice or it is fine and perfectly edible.
I have heard the romans bought it to the Uk as a food plant.Apparantly it helps with the common cold. Some cultures use it for medicinal purposes. or that at least is what the Romans told the Britons when they bought it LMAO.
So anyway your in the woods with no food surrounded by stinging nettle, and carefully boiling water so it is safe to drink…throw in the bxxxxxy nettles!

Good evening all. A Pusser's Rum please, Flo.

Oldest grandson has been at the hospital this afternoon. It was to check his progress after being in hospital earlier. All is going to plan. He has to have another operation, but not urgently. He is lower down in the queue.

Time to make dinner. Cottage Pie with an Italian Twist.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with nettles, spearmint, or kittie mint.

It's Troy again.

If you recall, I mentioned we've got a dog walking in our complex who would power walk or worse the mid to large pup, and make it poo on the run. On the paved walking path.

You might recall that I said I was going to get a can of fluorescent marking paint (the type they mark utility lines in your yard or street with).

I did that a week ago, and started spraying the flung poo with it. A turd here, a turd there... and discovered the maintenance guys in the golf carts drive right over them, since they take the walking paths as the most direct route (carts are wider than the paths). Invariably, the lone turds are squished by the tires and become harder to see, and wider to increase the chance of stepping on one.

well, a few people noticed the red spots on the path. One of them.... and old Marine helicopter pilot asked the older couple that are retired from the board of directors for the HOA about it. They said they'd told me about someone who used to spray the poop years ago... and either her ghost returned, or I got a can of paint.

So Jimmy the retired Marine said "I've got a can of green paint. I'll help!"

He sprayed over mine, but left them two-tone.

I'm happy to report that since we've been tag teaming the poo, the droppings have almost ceased. I only found one fresh one, but reapplied the pigment to a few that were still hanging around despite some rain and lots of golf-cart driving.

Oh your layout looks gorgeous in this picture, and so does your granddaughter

So the other half says I really fancy some chicken fried rice
We no longer buy takeaways
Long grain rice in packet, not cooked dried,
Peas in tin, yeah you heard me tinned peas
No spring onion, white onion and garlic,
Hunted everywhere,stole sons sesame oil
Frozen chicken slammed in microwave
Light soy sauce no normal in cupboards
An egg ah 2 made half and half to check it worked and emergency back up which I did not need….phew
Hot pan heaps of oil, onion and garlic followed by chicken once chicken looked ok scrambled egg hit the pan, scrapped the egg around tossed in the freshly cooked rice not one day old as recommended
Did it go down well, let’s just say a good thing I made generous portions.
Need to buy son a bottle of sesame oil!
Looks not such a good score, taste? Devine:D
And no I am not making another batch…I put a rice pudding on!

Edit okay it is reasonable to point out I ate some of the chicken then thought to take a photo..smacks lips

I
Thank you, Jaz.

She is a little older now.
I asked her what she wanted to do when older. Her reply was to be an artist. At present she attends a private art school. This weekend the students are going away on a 'Field Trip'.
always thought your layout was a touch small….just realised it’s 0 or even G!
that’s cheating, so much easier to get the detailed weathering lol. love the steam, the coal, the soot, oooh cotton wool wire inside poking out the loco pull the cotton looser on the tail wooooohoooooow!

My life continues to be a running "good news, bad news" joke.
Good news: Home is closed on, and I started moving my stuff in.
Bad news: The company I work for has been purchased by a competitor, and we have a mandatory meeting tomorrow before the place opens to tell us how long we have.
Sigh...

Cotton wool, add some dirty water for smoke, check the to- of the ‘tank’
