As a matter of point, a couple of people nudged me about returning,
A lot of people were kind enough to be really nice when I returned
Are they now thinking …did she always post this much…and have so much to say! About nothing much important…and I wonder if she plans another break…any time soon.
….be careful what you wish for…my mum always said. Grins. off to go let someone get a word in edgeways….can’t promise I won’t be back….sashays off……chuckling….
Post post and post away. We all have our own personal need for space, for friendships and for sharing. We missed you while you were gone and I say we because it was a collective group that missed you

So, out of all the plants we stuck in the box, it looks like only a fraction of them survived. And they managed to space themselves out accordingly. We had two big dudes sticking out of the ground, so they came out. The rest will remain in place for a week or so to dry out.

They type she planted is called beniazuma. Found this on the interweb:

"The tasty Beniazuma sweet potato originated in the mid-80’s from Ibaraki in Kantō, Japan. Kantō has remained its stronghold. Overall, it’s the most popular table variety in Japan. It has even been the target of potato thieves! Beniazuma logically commands the lead in terms of production area. One of its parent cultivars is the famed Koganesengan. It’s productive, high in starch, and has deep red/purple skin and a yellow core.

Harvest typically ranges from early September to mid-November. They become sweeter with a month or two of age, and are therefore eaten during early-mid winter."

So we have the first ones we pulled in a box by the door to age. these will be joining them.

We are able to buy the Murasaki and Okinawan (Beni-Imo I think) varieties here. OR is potato country, but we're not known for sweet potato or yam production.

I did find out that the Okinawan don't normally mature until 120-140 days, so mine having yellow vines at 105 means I have a soil issue. keeping my fingers crossed on the plot over at my mom's house.

Good evening. Working a Jaeger Lumber-Pak Load for an old Roundhouse 60' Bulkhead flat car. The process involves wrapping 40 little sections of wood with a wrap to resemble a wrapped lumber load. Man this is tedious work. I have 40 to wrap, so far my patience has allowed me to wrap 11. Must have bought the car and load back in the 80s or 90s.

Wife has a confirmed case of shingles, with all the discomfort attributed to it. Yes, she did have the two injection 4 months apart Shingrex Vaccine, but...latest study indicates the vaccine is not effective in 15% of those who thought they were immunized. Another little known fact. Shingles is contagious if exposed to someone with the blister broken and oozing. Direct contact, not necessary. She's taking a gigantic 1 gram pill every 8 hours until further notice. Hope it works quickly..

Otherwise, another beautiful day at the Jersey Shore....

So, proud dad here.
Congratulations dad!
She does not suffer fools lightly.
I would defiantly like her!

one side as a Halloween spooky fall side and the other a Xmas side with snow and all that.
I love that idea!
my question was when the ball bounces and rolls across the foul line is it still a foul because I saw a vintage clip of that happening and the guys where on the ground blowing at the ball to make it go across
If the ball hasn't gone past first or third base or hit the base and no one has touched it before rolling across the foul line completely into foul territory, then yes, it is a foul ball.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.

The original True Grit is one of my favorite movies. For a long time, I avoided watching the remake. When I finally did watch the remake, I enjoyed that as well.

John Wayne is still the best Rooster Cogburn! "Bold talk for a one-eyed fat man" - "Fill your hands you son of bitch" Best dialog ever written!

Some remakes are better than others. The remake of 3:10 to Yuma comes to mind as one of those few I enjoyed even more than the original. There have been others, but that one popped into my head.

I must wonder about any man that didn't like Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke. Siskel and Ebert maybe, but... I'll leave it at that.

Oh man those are painful. I watched a good friend at work almost drive himself insane from the pain. Finally one of the Pain Management doctors took pity on him and put him in an experimental program. His pain and most discomfort was gone in days! Our daughter while pregnant had shingles and she was a mess as she couldn’t take any of the meds at the time.

Best to the wife

I grew up with my dad watching westerns, John Wayne. Loved his swagger. loads of great non westerns also, the name escapes me but the oil rig, one was a favourite, and the fact he did not like horses but only liked to ride one specific horse when filming. I liked his dry comic delivery not much comic fall down and yet he portrayed it just right. Was sad about his cancer and the fact that nuclear testing may have been the cause, you would think we would turn our backs on nuclear considering the harm it has done, and the big boys we have nowadays are SO much stronger with long reaching after shocks :( throughout history man has often accidentally done more harm to humans than nature by mistake. Arsenic in green paint. (Napoleon) Whiting ones face in the Middle Ages to hide scar tissue, (as an aside having a small pool in your coiffured hair or between your breasts to capture lice was a true gags moment, I always wonder about cyanide in our salt, (‘why do they never mention when cyanide could be freed from the iron!)

anyway back toJohn Wayne, the hitching of his trousers like he means business before he walks towards you……

OK, been searching this forum and the interweb about getting paint off a mantua plastic tender. Can't find what kind of plastic it is as IPA is not good for certain types of plastic. Soaking it in this or that or whatever. I don't want to melt this thing into slag or cause it to become brittle. If I can get all the paint off, I won't have to repaint since I need a black tender.

what up coffee friends from all over!

busy time overhere thats why iam not around all day but hey some storys to tell. last weekend i played my season ending tournament in our discgolf swisstour, and what could i say, i placed 4th in MP40 category woop woop! I won some Cash :P around 120$ sounds like much, but the tournament fee also was 70$ so all good hehe. but it feels great to beat some of the better players in our community, and speacialy be the best player from our club gnihihihi.

modelrailroad wise also something was happening. i was always interestedd in doing stuff my way. trying out things or find out things how they work or how they where done. iam lucky to have Marcel Ackle as a friend. he can teach me stuff about creating that i did not know where possible. so i will try to build my own grasmatts (like Martin Welberg) if i can achive maybe 70% of his quality iam happy. we will see.

then i was googling for some ABT502 Oil colors and found a shop in switzerland (not far from my place) that was selling for a prize that was just awesome. i saw that they have everything on sale. so i was wondering. well what can i say. i will go and pay a visit this sathurday, and maybe i will buy EVERYTHING they have left, and resell the stuff. it could work i think. i have some ideas.

as i told you busy time overhere, but its fun!

i will now grab another coffee and start working.

cheers
marco

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those who know there is no Genghis Kahn unless he's played by John Wayne!

"I would greet you as you deserve, but I am bereft of spit!"

What a movie... 🤣
For those who have never...

Looks like a donut run this morning. Gotta go celebrate the daughter's achievement. At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

I did start mapping out the mainline on my upper deck yesterday with the posterboard templates. Got it about half done. Stopped when I went to the Peco website to print out the templates for their turnouts.

Also did some painting on the miniature undead.

Not sure what will happen beyond the donut run. I'll update as thing progress.
