For something different I’d recommend this video I just found (music). Cover by a prog/metal band of the famous song by A-Ha — “Take on Me”. The original had that cool video with the comic book and the girl getting pulled into it.

Song itself on Apple Music:

Good evening folks, hit only 73 here today and it felt great! Worked today, it was really busy until 330 because the Arkansas v Arkansas State game started at 4, then we could have bowled in the store. Got my lesson ready for Sunday School tomorrow and now relaxing. Y'all be good.
NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! usually went told to be good the opposite happens and I usually end up in a mental ward so no!

Just for an example we swimming in the pool till the 23rd of September last year, this year it ended the week before labor day weekend due to the drop in temps.
Same here, I closed mine up last weekend.
I was able to use mine up until yesterday, it was still 84°, but last night's low temperature and the shorter cloudy days ended it today.

Good morning, Everybody!

Welcome back @Jaz avalley ! 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Orioles 4 - Dodgers 3 I expected it would be a great game to watch. More on that later. After I finish watching the replay.

I went to bed just after 1pm yesterday and I slept until just after midnight. A great "night's" sleep indeed! For me that is.

I did wake up at least once for a bathroom break, I seldom remember. (CRS) I remembered this one because I saw rain on the bathroom window. Which made me worry about the minor roof leak I have yet to address. I went into the attic to check, but everything including the container under the leak was as dry as an old bone. Apparently, it only leaks when the rain is extremely heavy. Which is good as I have yet to find a competent roofing mechanic to do the job.

As I milled around in the attic I found a surprise. Something I bought in August of 2020 and never opened! To be honest, I forgot I bought it. I know the date because I looked it up in the Lionel store. With only 12 weeks until the first Sunday of Advent (November 30) and tomorrow being the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The find is right on time!

I'm not sure how I will use it yet, possibly to pull my Thanksgiving train. I don't know yet, but it will be running somewhere this holiday!

That is all for me, I'm out of time.

Have a Blessed Sunday Everybody!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those wondering if Jaz will grace the coffee shop with her presence any time soon?

You all need to make sure you put on clean shirts, and stop scratching the nether regions if we have a lady show up here again. No more burpin' without covering your pie holes... and save the noise from the other end for when you walk outside!

[looks around] gotta get this place respectable again!

Positive Vibes heading out to Terry! Good luck with whatever it is.

Not much to report from here. Weather wise, we're cool today, but will warm up for Fake Summer.

The pool directly outside out unit's front door will stay open through the 15th. Since our condo complex has 4 pools, they'll close ours, and one other in a week. The other two will stay open until end of the month, or until it's obvious that it's not going to get warm enough. One of the pools has only seen sunbathers, or the die-hard gotta-exercise lap swimmer.

We've been here five years and my wife has gone to the pool less than once a year. I only go to chat with the maintenance guys when they're working on it, or testing the chemistry.

Heading off to the game store later this morning. Will report back later.

If anyone is so inclined, please send positive vibes my way. There was some sudden drama that happened here over the last couple of days, and no clear way forward.
Thanks!
Whatever the challenge is, my friend, remain positive. You may be knocked sideways, but never backwards. The dust will settle and the path will be clear.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you to lead you forward.

Spent an hour or so this morning lamenting on the lack of 10mm scale figures of zombies and other humans that I want to include on my Conrail Apocalypse N-scale layout....

Went to so far as to start looking up what swapping over to HO scale (18mm figures from gaming world roughly) would cost me. I can convert larger 3D human figures down to 18mm and still get good prints. Downsizing to 10mm is tricky at best. Body parts get toooooo spindly and don't print well, if at all at 10mm.

Hmmmm.... I really don't want the hassle of selling off the Nscale stuff I do have...

then I stared at my double deck layout....

What if.... Nscale on top deck. Use what I've got. Print figures slightly larger in the 13mm scale. Still tricky, but keep the trains in the foreground, and figures behind. Might look weird around structures. Keep the figures away from them somehow... Mix and match with 3D printed structures that I can slightly upres for people scenes...

And if I really want to go HO after that, well, I've got the lower deck of the layout I can go bigger on...

Good morning... Coffee Flo on the outside patio.
Garden winding down, a tough season with no rain. Many plants couldn't take the hot dry weather even though I did my best to keep things wartered, nothing like Mother Nature's rain for the plants. I made the mistake of walking into the garden barefoot in July to pick some zucchini and the dirt was so hot it was burning my feet, I can imagine what the plants were going through and how all the watering just got soaked up and evaporated right away and had little chance to feed the roots.

You try scaling down the figures that you have? I did that to some dwarves that I found on thingiverse and they came out ok. Your resin will probably do a better job.

Down to 10mm?

It's a challenge. Picture zombies (walking dead style) with outstretched emaciated arms.... The supports will be thicker than the arms. It's .... challenging to say the least.

Here's the fantasy/medieval 10mm version of the zombies/ghouls. the small size is the reason it's multiple figures on one strip. Easier to print. Notice how everything looks "chonkier" than normal...

I can play with individual STLs, but it'll be a lot of vat cleaning after failed prints to get it semi correct.
