Well howdy there internet peeps and those wondering what "Nanners WIN!" was all about.

I have no idea if that's a semi pro league, or if they built an exhibition league just for the clown princes. I heard about it from a podcast light night and had to go look.

I think doing that to golf would greatly improve the game. Gotta wear stilts and use the long clubs on every hole divisible by 3. Two Football defensive linemen get to tackle the golfer anytime he's off the tee or off the green. Make those par 3 or 4 holes. Give the golfers carts. One hole has a surprise Skeet shooter trying to take balls out mid flight... That I would watch!

In other news, my arm is sore from the tetanus booster. No idea what today will bring.

Off course there are smaller ships with class and style.

Good morning from Wisconsin. This morning the WeatherChannel app was not responding but I’ve made it till now without it! Wow, I’m good. Nope I did not look elsewhere. I checked right before coming here and the app is working again. It’s 60f degrees heading to 85

Tools: I borrowed one tool from a friend because it was a 1 time thing. Returned it the day after I used it. Some of the tools my daughter borrowed over the years usually became Xmas presents. Not my tools but I’d buy her new ones. She now has a pretty good supply of power tools and hand tools. Table saw, 12” sliding chop saw, drills and various sanders. One summer after she borrowed an extension table for the chop saw and after 3 or 4 Xmas gifts of tools she borrowed, she says, do not buy me this for Xmas. Too late, she used it for like a month and I ordered it while she had mine. One of the things when she moved to college was a full tool box for her. Hand tools, wire cutters and soldering iron. She said they were well used around the dorm. She fixed lots of lamps

Volleyball on campus last night was fun. There just is a different feel when it’s a conference game. The Badgers beat Rutgers in 3 sets. I was there at the game but watching on my IPhone the defending NCAA champion Badger Women hockey team open their season in Bemidji, Minnesota 9-2. Seems I pissed off a lady sitting behind me because I was watching hockey at a VB match. I did tell her if she keeps hassling me I’d text security. Her hubby finally got her to realize I was serious. I didn’t need her condescending remarks and came close…

Today Terry celebrates her birthday. She is 1 year and 2 days older than me. She’s feeling good with her health turning back to the good side. She is starting to drop the weight she gained from all the medicines and steroids she was on. She’s happy and so am I

Hockey on TV at 3pm and then we go see Portlandia (comedy) at the Overture Center tonight at 8. I wanted to see Taylor Tomlinson the comedian on 10/10 as they added a show for her. We dropped our theater subscription for this season and lessened the donation so we are no longer preferred subscribers. The seats were full, boo…

Have a great day

Evening all,

Had grandparents day with the youngest granddaughter that required us to leave early this morning. Then some errands on the way home and then my annual physical. BP 110/60, blood sugar normal range. No A1C taken. My Hdl cholesterol is and has been low the past 3 years, but my good/bad ratio is in the middle of the "normal" range. Ordering a sleep study and a full blown colonoscopy. No issues being experienced, but a low hemoglobin, which should be to normal 10 weeks after the knee replacement.

Had the grandkids mow this evening. Been working on my door decorations for the Halloween season at work. Wife making me participate this year.
So is your costume..grouch?

Good Morning All. Clear and 62°. A beautiful day in store with the high around 90°. That's pretty much the forecast for the next 10 days, except for cloudy on Monday. A gentle breeze is predicted for the whole time. Let's hope that the NWS is right on this one. This is our version of fall.

The rain last Sunday has really spurred the grass growth, so I spent another hour or so mowing yesterday, finishing up the south and west sides of the yard. Today I tackle the north side between the pool and train shed and all of the rest of the north up to my still dry pond. I won't have to hit the east side again until Monday or Tuesday. I don't miss the days when I worked and had to spend 4 hours in a single day every weekend mowing. Indeed, the last five years before retirement, I let about 1/2 acre get away from me and it took 2 years to get it cleared out again. Otherwise I spent some more time cutting and splitting firewood, my version of a visit to the gym. Probably will do more of that today.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I once again ran trains. Did a little change of pace with a local. Left the yard with 14 cars, both loads and empties. Dropped a few off at each one of the three towns that it passed through, then turned around and switched them and picked up others on the way back to the yard.
I also got the townspeople ready for the newest additions. I got notifications from both ScaleTrains and UPS that my package was on the way. Six new SD40-2's are on the way. Tariff cost was just $5/loco, so $30 more than expected. But a lot less than all of the naysayers were predicting. That's just a bit above 2%...less than the current inflation rate actually! Guess what I'll be doing on Monday!

Almost 100 posts in the Coffee Shop yesterday to review this morning. I already spent 90 minutes catching up on other threads.
Jaz - I love the various VW pictures that you post, both the bugs and vans. I owned a '61 model for 6 years back in the early 70's. Your pictures bring back a lot of memories. But mine was never upside down!;)
You're correct that I am not too far off the map where I live. The original landowner had this unfenced 70 acre field that back in the 40's and 50's was a wheat field. In 1980, he divided it into 7 smaller properties ranging from 5 acres to 20 acres. Mine is the 2nd largest at 15 acres. One is still vacant to this day, although it was sold and has had the same owner the whole time. It's like a small community here; only one of the lots has changed hands in the 45 years that I have lived here. The property on the north side of me now has three families there, all related but all of the others are basically the same folks so we know each other real well and everyone gets along with one another except for the one bad neighbor. They live in the place that has changed hands. Other than the couple that decided to develop their "country estate" 1/4 mile south , there are no other homes in a 1.5 mile radius of us. Of note, the next road to the east is 2.5 miles (4 km) away and a trip around the block is 8.5 miles (13.6 km) long.
Sorry that I don't have any advice regarding the pictures except this. I just copy the thumbnails from my computer folder and paste in the reply box, and have no issues. I don't use the download icon at the top of the reply box.
Todd - I also have a "Blue Eyed Blond Girl" who thinks that everything is easy, as long as she isn't doing them. That's why I end up doing all of those tasks!
Chad - Since you're not a beer drinker, let me give you my opinion. If it wasn't for the alcohol (not much at that), Bud light wouldn't have any taste at all. I agree with Michael that it should be called "swill" instead of beer. Sadly that is the case with most domestic light beers.
Louis - How's Angela doing?

The late Michael Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf was born on this day in 1947.
Everyone have a great Saturday. Be safe around those grills.

It is terrible.
They erased everything that made Rantoul iconic.
The rockets, gone.
Planes on Rt 45, not a one.
They built a huge school complex on the other side of the tracks from the West Gate. BIG. To bad all that money dumped into it won't do a damned thing about the crime...
White hall is in shambles the last I heard.

They tore down White Hall years ago.

Moin! Still a little bit of morning left. I got tied up on the radio once again early this morning. France, Hungary, England, all banging my meter at least to a S-5 reading.

Now 76°F/56°F at 1120. The dewpoint really fell since yesterday and today should be very pleasant despite the 83°F we are expecting. 87°F tomorrow and Monday, but still very dry. We are in severe drought conditions now. That sprinkle we had earlier in the week didn't put a scratch in the drought.

Have a good day all!

I am back. Had to light off the computer for the first time in over a month.

Talked with Willie this morning. Have a throttle and some other items that he wants but wanted to let him know that the cost of shipping is rediculous.

Todd stopped by to pick up what buildings I have left from the old layout. Was sorry to see them go, but I am glad that they are going to someone that can use them.

I had put my vehicle collection up for sale and got a $1,100 deal set up until I found out about shipping. Had 4 box cars for instance that I shiped out in a box just big enough for the 4 cars and some bubble wrap packaging and the Post Office charged $21.

Haven't used eBay for years but I think it will be the best way, selling oin small lots, 4 or 5 at a time. If anyone has any interest in a few vehicles at a time, PM me. I'll post a few photos showing what I have.

In going through the boxes, I came across a box with the rock molds that Eric White had borrowed. Used to talk with him a lot and it was so sad to lose him.

I do miss model railroading quite a lot. I am close to the BNSF line which is a little over a half mile away from e and can hear the trains go by at night.

Here are a few pictures from the archives. Gotta get out of here and get some work done and take the dogs for a walk.
