The owner of the landscaping company inspected the work (and picked up the balance due) yesterday afternoon. I was at the gym this morning and my cameras were pinging me. I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I got home. I guess he didn't like how the top step looked and wanted to fill/secure the red pavers, at the top, with paver sand. Serious professionalism. Under promised and over delivered.

That’s a guy you can recommend!

Thank you!

She has taken off from London and will arrive just west of DC later than I like but any time is a good time to pick up my pretty little Angel.
If she went through Heathrow, she has my sympathies. The only misery we experienced on our European trip last year was having to go through Heathrow, at the start and finish of the trip.

I definitely understand being able to sleep soundly once everyone is safe at home.

Well, howdy there human peeps (or so we hope)

I recently cleared all my cookies to make my computer run faster.

Wife told me that was supposed to be the 1s and 0s on the computer, not the cookies in the jar.

I figured that was why I wasn't getting the human-touch box. ;)

A question for those of you who watch Boomer Diorama... any idea how wide his River Road layout is? Looks like it's an around the wall layout. I'd guess 2 ft front to back. One corner in it, but I'm not sure if he has expansion plans beyond that.

His scenery and roads are almost all angled differently than his track is run. And that trick makes guessing the size of his benchwork difficult.

I ask, because I sat on the low mechanics stool and looked under my benchwork. Wouldn't you know it? My stuff is mostly 2 ft wide, except for the center peninsula. It's got a lot of "bolt on" additions to make it wide for the continuous loops. I just have to take the foam off the top so I can access the screws and bolts and I'll get to the Boomer scale I've been leaning towards.

I overdid yesterday and today, so the back is grumpy today. I think it's muscles, but not sure. Taking easy with ice then heat. And a nap.

Here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking for the modular layout. I want to utilize what I've already got built, and make it fun. Boomer's car float got me to thinking about reimagining the zombie apocalypse. I decided that since I picked up a couple of Canadian Locos (One CP and one CN) I should look in the lower Ontario area for inspiration.

Seems the area of Port Burwell on the shores of Lake Eerie had a dock (no car ferry) but a cool lighthouse, and tracks right down to the pier. One of my fictional mystery towns is supposedly about an hour north of there. In the late 70s both CN and CP had lines running NE through that area. So my 1980s time frame can be a fictitious branch line, picking up the abandoned line from Port Burwell up.

take 5 - 20 mg of melatonin every night to sleep. Otherwise, my mind goes to hyperdrive and even though my body is toast, I can't get to sleep.
THat's really high. Do you have weird dreams? High doses of melatonin are known to lead to nightmares and intense, weird dreams. I experienced this myself a while back. I use 1-3mg when I am trying to change my sleep schedule. But not as a normal da\ily thing. A week worth when switching from 1am to 11pm bedtime etc.

You definitely have more over all space than Boomer has. I believe he’s at 20” at the ferry landing but I will check tonight. He has a video about why everything is angled and rarely square to the front edge. But that might have been his 1st layout Glover Road video

All my shelf layouts have never been deeper than 24” some sections as narrow as 8”. He works on sections of his layout to completion before he shows the next section. He talked about it eventually being a “U” but never a continuous running square

I wouldn’t rebuild your sections depth wise if ur are at 24”. I believe his rail height is 54 or 56” from the floor

Sometimes, but not very often. But when I do, it's almost real and I can remember it for a few minutes after I wake, but then it fades quickly. A lot tends to revolve around me being back in uniform and trying to find my way around somewhere that I should know how to get around in. I see a few of my buddys there as well. I don't remember if I was young or old in those scenes.

It seems my mind doesn't want to go to sleep. My body might be toast, eyes starting to close, but then my mind fights it. If 5 mg doesn't do it, then I take the 12 mg. That usually knocks me into lala land.

Good Evening. Looks like the Gulf Hurricane landed between Panama City and Pensacola. According to forecasts, the remnant will dump 1" to 2" on us between Sunday and Monday morning. Fast moving storm.

Our buyers have their mortgage commitment, so the sale is finally moving on. One more issue to resolve. (Nothing is ever easy).
Meanwhile, our new residence is taking shape.
