Well, howdy there human peeps (or so we hope)
I recently cleared all my cookies to make my computer run faster.
Wife told me that was supposed to be the 1s and 0s on the computer, not the cookies in the jar.
I figured that was why I wasn't getting the human-touch box.
A question for those of you who watch Boomer Diorama... any idea how wide his River Road layout is? Looks like it's an around the wall layout. I'd guess 2 ft front to back. One corner in it, but I'm not sure if he has expansion plans beyond that.
His scenery and roads are almost all angled differently than his track is run. And that trick makes guessing the size of his benchwork difficult.
I ask, because I sat on the low mechanics stool and looked under my benchwork. Wouldn't you know it? My stuff is mostly 2 ft wide, except for the center peninsula. It's got a lot of "bolt on" additions to make it wide for the continuous loops. I just have to take the foam off the top so I can access the screws and bolts and I'll get to the Boomer scale I've been leaning towards.
I overdid yesterday and today, so the back is grumpy today. I think it's muscles, but not sure. Taking easy with ice then heat. And a nap.
Here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking for the modular layout. I want to utilize what I've already got built, and make it fun. Boomer's car float got me to thinking about reimagining the zombie apocalypse. I decided that since I picked up a couple of Canadian Locos (One CP and one CN) I should look in the lower Ontario area for inspiration.
Seems the area of Port Burwell on the shores of Lake Eerie had a dock (no car ferry) but a cool lighthouse, and tracks right down to the pier. One of my fictional mystery towns is supposedly about an hour north of there. In the late 70s both CN and CP had lines running NE through that area. So my 1980s time frame can be a fictitious branch line, picking up the abandoned line from Port Burwell up.
