I went to my not-so-LHS yesterday morning, exchanged my defective and not-decoders. I got a refund for the not-decoder, and the replacement decoder is now controlling my MILW FP45.
I also picked up an 8-car set of Kato UP passenger cars while I was there. When I got home, I got a pleasant surprise--al 8 cars were LED-lit. Including the baggage car. So, I removed the LED from the baggage car, and put it in the business car, replacing the bulb. The Ebay seller refunded half my purchase price, so it was a win on both accounts.

Yeesh, whoever came up with the boneheaded idea that an AC unit should be mounted in the attic should be castrated to save the Gene Pool. We just spent 2 hours fighting with a clogged drain line, thankfully my Nephew and His Son came over to rescue us because at our ages we are not good going up and down the folding ladder to the attic anymore. At least it is working now and the line blown clean.

This is why we have a service contract on the HVAC system. My knees can’t take crawling across bare plywood, plus the temperature extremes up there! The system gets a check up twice a year, and whenever we call them, they come out quickly.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump Day!

Clear and 56F this morning High today is supposed to hit 76F

Usual stuff around the house this morning. Laundry, dishwasher, some minor straightening up, and . a quick mid-weeek vacuum.

Another volleyball game tonight. Its away but only the next town over so its almost as good as a home game.

Have a safe day everyone!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with unclogged drains, whether they run slow or not.

It's Troy again.

Speaking of Attic AC units, that is the preferred method for cooling our 2nd floors here. But I'm looking at $10K to add a unit and ductwork.

Terry, is your small layout big enough to handle passenger cars? I'm trying to stick to 40 &50 ft boxcars just to keep my curves semi-realistic.

In other news: Lord Fuzzbutt is mostly himself now. Slept on my feet all last night. Been eating the kibbles. I'm trying to keep up with changing his water more often to offset the pink slime that the cat fountains attract. Despite my efforts he keeps sticking his head under the stream to see the bubbles and splats of the cascade up close.

Then he has to come wipe his wet head on my leg.

Today is PT day. I'm not doing well at home exercises. I set of each is good? The three sets the PT wants trigger my squirrel brain to go in search of nuts/cookies somewhere. So I've taken to trying to work one or two sets of about a third of the 9 different exercises at a time. Then come back later to do the next third, and so on.

And I started deconstruction of the layout. Mostly just taking screws out of the backdrop on the center peninsula and removing the boxes of foam scrap from under the layout (saving the larger pieces.) Foam went to the community dumpster.

I may save the tempered hardboard pieces to cut down for fascial, in case I need longer or taller pieces that what I already have cut.

Yes, I'm being careful with my back. I'm working top down, and only what I can reach without twisting.

OK, time to shower and start the day. Don't want to be a stinky pretzel in PT today.

Good morning. 55f degrees now and 72 or 79 later. The WeatherChannel app says 72. The weather guy on the local media outlet says 79. I’ll bet on the 72.

I’m off at 8 heading north to put down some ground goop. I’ll take my own materials just in case

The son in law who tells me he is an evaluator for hockey tryouts this week says the grandson is doing great. He isn’t evaluating the grandson’s group but is able to stay in the building to watch from the restaurant/bar perched above the ice and stands. 2 more nights of evals and he’ll know Saturday where he’s placed. He’s resigned to going where they place him but he knows his friends may not be on the same team. The buddette who is a goalie already knows she is the “A” team goalie and not the “AA” team. The goalies were evaluated during the Summer/Fall league games they played. From my eyes she is better than the “AA” guy. The other 2 are probably bubble A/B players. This maybe an interesting thing this season. They have a “AA”, A, B and 2 C teams in the 13-14 year level. 12-14 players per team

Enjoy your day

The nurse from the USNH internal medicine group called me today and said that the labs that I did almost a month ago didn't look good. The doc wants me to do them again, so I'll be donating blood tomorrow. She didn't say and I didn't ask what was wrong. They thought I may have been dehydrated, but I drink around 3-4 liters a day and am not sweating it out during the day, so no comprende, but I won't argue.

At least I don't have to fast for this one, so I'll go in around 10-ish. And again, I forgot to ask her to order up the prostate blood test.

Does your hospital or medical network have a program like My Chart or My Care Corner where they can upload all labs, visits, CT interpretations, immunization records, etc., etc?

I love this feature with my health network. I usually see lab results withing a couple of hours for blood work and urinalysis, and about a day or less for CT interpretation from the doctor. CT imaging though can be transferred to DVD before you even leave from the visit.

I needed to look up some of the lab results and how some results are inter-related, but I usually had a pretty good idea of what was going on before the doctor or nurse did.

We have had access to MyChart for a while now and I was against putting the app on my phone. I finally downloaded it last week before my yearly blood draw. I left the hospital and ran some errands and by the time I got home results were already coming in, and a day later I got a not from my Physicians assistant that stated Dr. reviewed and all looked normal, see you next year.

I guess I should of done this sooner!

Maybe something like these for passenger cars on a smaller layout?

Anyway it 68 here, supposed to get to 85 today. My Missus has a Nurse coming for a Home Health Check today, nothing wrong, the Insurance pays for it. I have no plans except to sort a box of miniatures for TT games. Hoping for Battletech minis. Gonna grab another cup of coffee, you guys have a great day.

The layout is a size that would be about 16x8 in HO, so it’s a reasonable size for a passenger train. I try to keep them to around 4 cars and a single engine, so I now have a pair of 4 car trains.

If it was 3-4 liters of alcohol, he’d have trouble forming complete sentences, much less being able to find the lab in the first place…

I'm still waiting to have my first beer in a month. I completely missed Oktoberfest this year. I've had a case of Hofbräu Festbier in the refrigerator since before the middle of last month.

Maybe Friday. Last day of antibiotics is Thursday.

They offered that to me like I was a damned invalid. I said I don't have strangers in my home for any reason and I'm quite capable of taking care of myself. Thanks anyway.
