Did I say that I received my Cotton Belt GP30?

Yeah, I know a bit dated but this is the first beer in a while :)

Boo!

Raised in the middle of small suburbia in Spokane Valley. Pretty much right between Sprague and Trent; each about a mile and a half away, then Park Road and Pines about that same distance with Argonne in the middle. I would hazard a guess of 100+ houses and kids galore. Most were on 1/2 acre plots so pretty close together. Places to the West of Argonne were 40's/50's homes, East were 50's/60's homes. Even when a tad older ( High School ) we could not hit them all. We would come home with *bags* of stuff. Our problem was not pedophiles, mostly sophomore high school girls looking for a little fun. Remember the song 'Kiss me and maybe'? Ya, heard it all over. Did not even want to trade candy for that fun. Parents would go around with the younger goblins and would usually be back home an hour or so after dark. Of course my folks got/had to check the candy out to make sure everything looked on the up and up. Ya, they took a lot of the good stuff!

In the 22 years we have been here, we have not seen anybody. We are kinda set back from the road since '08, but there still is not anybody on the streets. For the first couple of years, we bought candy JiC. Quit after that. High School has parties in unknown locations so have no idea of what goes on with them. Heck, I did that in HS, remember those Keggers? Cruise Riverside ( Downtown Spokane ) was the thing to do and spot. 100's of cars of which I wish I owned a few of them now...

Don't know what is on the agenda today and won't do anything until it gets above 40F. Am I bad or what?

I’m designing statures for my friends 1965 era Pacific Northwest Paper mill. Usually I draft these out by hand but giving Ai the size I want the building to be, describing it being built in the 1940/50’s, weathered as it might look in 1965 before the digesters are modernized. I got this from Ai

In 1965 Papermills were involved in modernizing. One of the 1st things they did was to re -clad the Paper Machine building then the digesters and their housing stuctues. This picture is a possible rendering of the old time batch pulping. Modernized pulp is done in a continous batching process.

Hay Tom you still have the Sat map of Inland Empire Paper in Spokane? Map Millwood Wa and it will show up if not. Also, Map Usk Wa then follow SR20 down a bit for another one. We picked up rolls of paper there; big rolls. That one is rail served too. Not as 'busy' as some of the others. You probably have enough ideas already, just a thought.

Here's some more photos of the mill by me. Hopefully these will help. The Blue Heron mill is just across the river from the Willamette mill.
Yes, those are locks running on the inside right of the mill, for boats to get above the falls.

David Boy what a place model. I am still gonna use Inland Empire Paper ( smaller ) but think I have a spot that needs this. Now to scrunch it down a bit. Just to be clear, the mill on the left in the 3rd pix is the Blue Heron Mill?

Yes, it's owned by the Confederate Tribes of Grand Rhonde. Unfortunately, there was a "fire" at the BH mill back in January that completely destroyed it.

Well, my previously approved vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend just got canceled by the new company. That is when mandatory onboarding and orientations will be taking place. I’ll need to contact my family and let them know I won’t be joining them this year.

Good Morning All. Happy Halloween. Clear and 41° here this morning, headed back into the 70's today with 80's around mid-week. The rain chance for tomorrow has increased to 20%, so we'll either get nothing or all hell will break loose.

Yesterday's grocery trek went OK, they seemed to have completed their store remodeling. Several things happened, some good and some bad. Good - they've widened the aisles and made more room in two key areas. Bad - They've filled those open areas with more floor displays to get in the way, and they have reduced the number of brands that they carry. I am used to the new locations of most of the stuff that I buy, and they didn't change up 3 of my most used departments, fresh produce, deli and meats. Wife is ecstatic though, that a Tom Thumb store is being built about 13 miles closer to us, which will be opening in December. I haven't been in a Tom Thumb since my teen years, 50 years ago. It will be interesting to see if they are better or worse than my Kroger. There's a lot of benefits there which I as a Kroger frequent shopper member use; fuel points, digital coupons, and paper coupons geared to my purchasing history. These things make up for the fact that they DO charge a little more than Walmart. Plus it is less crowded with eclectic people. I am assuming that Tom Thumb probably has a similar program but I haven't researched it yet.

Today is another follow-up visit with my PCP. I don't even remember what we're following up on! Maybe it's the newest BP medication that he prescribed two months ago, which is finally really working. All of the blood tests from the last visit were good. I will discuss getting back on the normal 90 day schedule to see him, as I am tired of these constant visits that don't yield any different results, except the medication change. I spend 45 minutes each way for a 20 minute visit!

Out in the train shed yesterday, I did some more painting on the GP9U. One of the reasons for taking so long is the fact that the handrails are made of slippery black plastic, which doesn't hold the paint well, thus requiring a second coat. I did finish the long hood rail on the engineer's side and got the first coat on the short hood and the front rail.

I also got the third wall attached on the Hydrocal structure. It required a little sanding to get the joint more smooth, but Hydrocal is easy to sand.

It's setting overnight before I slide the 4th wall in. Things will go a lot faster after that. I learned years ago, that these walls attached with Walther's Goo will shift with handling, if I don't allow adequate drying time.

Tom O -
Be careful you and I can easily turn this into something Terry will have to step in on or give me time off because I’m being polite right now
I think that he's already done so - several offending posts don't seem to be here any more.
Your workbench still looks more organized than mine!
Louis - Great news regarding Angela.
Mikey - Great job on rehabbing those Chinese figures. If you don't mind a suggestion though, you need some of those guys wearing blue jeans!

Everyone have a great Friday and a safe Halloween.

Well, howdy there internet ghosts ghouls and demons

It's Troll again...

Packing for Vegas has commenced. Or, rather, the laying out of the clothing and items not to forget has begun. Suitcases will come out tonight. Must have all the clothing counted and sorted. Undies and socks for each day, plus an extra set? Check! Meds? check! etc.

That also means that Laundry has commenced. Being the end of the month, it's mattress pad wash day. That's first, so I can put fresh sheets on the bed and use it as a staging area for the laundry folding..

Printing some ships on the 3D printer.
