Willie Thank you for your kind prayers and wishes for our grandson. They are much appreciated.
Although he has to go back to the hospital for a check up, we believe he is over the worst and on the road to recovery.
Property tax bill just arrived. Too many people, that probably don't pay property taxes, voted for more feel good levies. From 2003 to 2025 our property taxes have doubled to just over $400/month. Thankfully we are still considered unincorporated county or they would be considerably higher.
Greetings all, I have returned from an electron free summer!
Well okay… I made a few phone calls and used the margarita machine a few times but that’s it.
I can see I have lots of catching up to do with all the postings!
I don’t get let in here very often, the sign says “no shoes no shirts” Flo, there’s absolutely no mention of pants.
I firmly believe that if you’re tax bill after all deductions and credits (not including withholding etc obviously) isn’t at least some nominal amount you owe then you shouldn’t get to vote on anything related to money.

With track, i figured go for what you want to have. Wide curves are always better for running stuff and trains look a lot better on wider curve than on "trolley" sharp stuff.
About ten years ago, I got a credit card for a big box home improvement store. About three years after that, I closed the account and canceled the credit card, since I never used it. A couple of months ago, I opened a new account with that same big box home improvement company and credit card. Unfortunately, I can't make any purchases with the card, since the big box company has my old address embedded in my account, and can't change it. Surprise, surprise, every purchase I attempt to make gets declined because the addresses don't match. My calls are routed to a call center offshore.
It is 4:20 pm west Texas time. I am downloading the new Zorin 18 Pro operating system to my old laptop. The download keeps flip flopping between 2 hours and 3 hours remaining.......now just says 2 hours.
I purchased a new HP laptop about 10 months ago with Windows 11 Pro. After having multiple issues with Win 11, I have decided to go with the Zorin 18 Pro on that laptop as well. I have a one year extension on Windows 10 for my desktop computer in the house so that suits me fine. Next October 0f 2026, however, I will go to Zorin on that computer. Zorin 18 Pro will go on my desktop computer in my drafting office in a day or two.
It seems to me a computer operating system should serve me, NOT me serving it.......so long to MS Windows.
I picked up another drafting project last Thursday and hope to have it ready to go to the engineer and architect for approval later this evening.
This project is very timely as I hope to go to the Oklahoma Train Show next month, so now I can have a little "walking around" money.
I hope to get back on my layout work next week. I seem to have a problem picking a project and seeing it through to the end. I need to finish getting all turnouts working on my upper level trackwork so it will be finished there. But I tend to drift over and want put a building kit together or install a decoder or build a piece of rolling stock. I gotta stay focused but some days I just don't feel like doing wiring or anything else for that matter. Am I the only guy that does that?
I need to get busy pushing a pencil so I'm signing off.

I get up at 6am and work around here until 6pm every day. That's the way I do it otherwise nothing would ever get done and I'll be 80 next year. I have to admit I do take 2 days off a week to play golf.
Swal
Good evening all, 55 here been "blustery" all day. After Church we went and saw a friend who broke her hip last night, they're doing a replacement tomorrow. Her husband is worn out. Just relaxing a bit tonight, then working tomorrow. Think I'll make some coffee...
Me too! I've got another article in the work for RMC. Parts are all here, it is mostly built, and the actual article is 1/2 written. Life got in the way and I'm having trouble getting back to it. Hopefully Otto will forgive my tardiness.
