I received 5-free packets of StarKist Tuna a few years ago in a class action suit!
Now that's a score!

Most of the random ones I get are like $4.76 or $2.34 or something. Once in a while it's actually something I can take the wife to In-n-Out with like $22.

The two large ones I got were very specific ones with small classes and big screws against the defendants head.

Mac: You are right, those phones are for creatures from Venus. Same problem with Mac's ( or Apple ) PC's too. Think that most of ( my ) the problem is I am technical and those OS's are not. Supposed to be intuitive - ya right, don't need intuitive, need logical steps with logical results. YMMV

Yes Sir, it's called the KISS principle, something today's pseudo engineers don't understand.

Let's see if this works. While at the railroad museum in Foley AL yesterday, I did take a couple of pictures with my phone along with the ones trapped on the camera. The circus scene with an army train out front:

Closer after the train has passed with a SP passenger train coming into the scene:

Note the drive-in movie showing to the upper right of the Ferris Wheel
Looks like this worked.

So the weather here is doing what I hoped it would not, which is go from too hot, to too wet, to too cold. No nice stuck in there at all. No chance to work on the car since I don't have a garage, only a car port.

It rained pretty much all day for the past two days. Solar had no chance to recover and I hope we get some sun sometime soon. My beard is growing its own beard...

I got $7 and change for the Fakebook class action suit. I was only a member for around a year so it wasn't much. Amazon is going to be sending out checks too pretty soon. I read the average check will be $51.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with settlements.

I missed out on the Anthropic AI settlement to authors whose works were used to train their Claude AI model on fiction writing. Each book used is getting the author/publisher $3,000US

My books were in the pirated database that Anthropic scraped from the pirate sites - but were not in the training dataset. Evidently I'm not important enough. ;) Just me doing my thing, writing murder mysteries with pixies and orcs.

But, I did get $24ish recently from a facebook settlement

And, I got the dreaded yellow postcard today.

Fill out the online questionnaire to see if you're going to be in the jury pool. I'm not a barge pilot, nor over 75, so I'm pretty much stuck. Made sure to put in my planned vacations, so I (hopefully) don't get tagged during those weeks.

Just met with the new Cat-sitter. She seems really nice, but... she won't be around for our Feb Cruise. So we'll have to get a backup sitter.

I recently put a Gronk on order. Nope, not the Rob type, but a Class 08. When I first saw this, I didn't care for it as it is just a toaster. But as I watched more stuff about it, it grew on me. It's a very simple design and doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles (at least the brand that I was interested in), and could not get past the cost. Must've been due to popularity, I guess. No lights, cab not detailed, I think it is DCC ready with an 8 pin socket.

So, while I was innocently minding my own business and checking my emails, Rails snuck in a treble hook and started jinking. I normally see this thing at ~165GBP but saw the sale at 119.50GBP. Yeah, hook was set. When I popped it into my cart, VAT was removed and the cost went down to 99.58 plus 13 for shipping to Japan for a total of 112.58 = $151.70.

I really should take myself off the mailing list...

The last time I was selected I sent in the form with a letter attached that I would be unavailable for the week selected, because of our wedding. Needless to say that Monday I got a phone call from the Court wanting to know why I wasn't at the Courthouse. After I said I was on my way to my wedding 3/4 of the way across the country and I asked if the received the letter. Yes they had received the letter. "Did you read it" I asked? Yes they had and they wanted to know when I could come in. I almost screamed!!!! Never!! was my reply, and I haven't been called since!

I had to look it up, as I thought he was joking and forgot to add the laughing emoji 🤣

Looking at the specs on it, I bet it was fun to drive!
Not for me, I hated it as I did most of sports cars she has owned over the years. Besides the obscene expense I don’t enjoy the engine noise or the discomfort of just being in the car. I’ve driven a few of her cars at Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin and she used to belong to the Autoban CC outside of Joilet, Il. many years ago along with my brother and brother in law. They loved the road courses and my brother still does. I know she had her Urus over 150mpg on the straights at Elkhart Lake. The niece, son and daughter have been through the driving courses at the track in Las Vegas as have I. The cars and the high speeds just are not for me.

I used to date in high school a Bettenhauser and her uncles raced at Indy. She had me in a custom sedan on their track in Tinley Park, Il. going over 100 mph in 1969, we were juniors and 17 years old in high school. Scared the bejuses out of me but excited her beyond belief! That is most likely where I picked up my dislike of sports cars. She had been driving their track from like 10 years old and could handle a car
