I learned to drive with a 3 on the tree as well, Dad's '59 Chevy Biscayne with bench seats and no seat belts. Before I was old enough to drive, we would ride with me, Dad and Mom in the front and the other five kids in the back seat!. We couldn't afford an Impala or Bel Air! It also didn't have factory air, so we ended up getting one of those aftermarket ones that would regularly freeze over. And just to make it more fun, it was a 2 door! It meant that Dad or Mom could swat mis-behaviors on the a$$ as we got in.

Good morning, Everybody!

My glucose is good. I was worried because I had white rice (I can't eat brown rice, eww!) with hot sausage, onions, yellow and red bell peppers for dinner. One of the few meals I can cook and I like to cook!

@santafewillie thank you for enlightening me about bell peppers. "The brighter the color the sweeter the pepper" I had always used green peppers with sausage and onions. Since I switched to the bright colors my wife enjoys my sausage and peppers too!

My blood pressure was only fair this morning. Not in the unsafe range, but too close to risk going to work.

I'll be working on taxes today. :( Unless I can find a good excuse to do something else. I still have a few days before the tax deadline.

I hope and pray all is well for Everyone!

First vehicle I drove in Japan was a Toyota p/u with 3 on the tree and steering wheel on the other side. Glad I tested in it as I could now drive a stick or auto. If you test in an auto, then your d/l would be limited to auto. At least back then it was.

question is , is this a direct result of the gubberment shut down?
The USPS is not impacted by a government shutdown.

The USPS is an independent entity that funds its operations through the sale of postage, products, and services. Not through annual congressional appropriations. While many federal agencies pause or furlough workers during a shutdown, USPS keeps running because it doesn’t rely on tax dollars for its day‑to‑day operations.

They just suck in many cases. Mostly due to being understaffed. My wife stood in line (third in line) for over a half hour Saturday. There was only one clerk working and a bat-shit crazy customer arguing over $0.46! My wife offered the lady two quarters, but no "it was the principle" The point was the customer was wrong! Move on lady, time is money!

If anyone needs a job the USPS is hiring, I saw several "help wanted" signs inside and outside of the post office. I had to go in to check on my wife.

On the other hand, I had a book delivered yesterday by the USPS which only took three days to go from Phoenix to Baltimore and one of the days was a Sunday!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those about to open their own Hobby shops.

Marco just needs to get a retail license and start selling locomotives and rolling stock!

Its Troy again. And this one goes out to Louis

In other news, I managed to cancel the service with Waste Management (aka: Big Green) four our twice a month recycling service. We've got a big rolling bin that I'll need to put out for them to take away AFTER the next pick up cycle. The bill had jumped from $85/year to almost $140/year. Time to let it go.

What that means is I will still collect steel and aluminium cans. Habitat for Humanity collects them at several drop box location at various churches in the area. We don't do a lot of plastics. Just yogurt cups, and the occasional plastic bin my cookies are packaged in. It's more cardboard that I need to worry about. And, frankly, I'm not convince that cardboard is getting redirected to landfills by the recycling facility.

Need to get on Rover.com and find a pet sitter for Lord Fuzzbutt while we're in Vegas next month.

Other than that, I'm not sure what today holds.

Good morning all!

A little crispy out there this morning. Currently 44F with a high of 66F. Defiantly feels like fall with the slight breeze. A;/C went off yesterday
and were back to having the windows open during the day.

Other than laundry, not sure what else is going on today.

Happy Hump day to the working folks!

Volleyball was a win last night, We ended up eating at DQ on the way home. Wasn't bad, but would of preferred Culvers but
there wasn't one close where were at. No games till next week. The schedule is starting to slow down now that were getting
near the end of the season.

Train time tonight!

Have a safe day everyone!
