Good Morning All!
31F @ 87% overcast. To be around the same temps in the morning for a week-ish. Daytime in lower 40's.

Site is having some problems - getting a ton of 'database errors' that come and go.

Getting more done on the Switch Controller. Having problems with the FET's for connecting RailA/B to the point/frog rail. Oh, well, I will get it right sooner or later.

I did 'do my duty' yesterday and made Blueberry pies. Had a piece after dinner and it was yummy!

Those cracks happened when I put the foil around the outside to keep the edges from burning.... My bad!

My father's mother used to make those for us. Holiday tradition. Trader Joe's has both the traditional and chocolate ones for the holidays. They are the imported ones.

I also miss the REAL (imported) Pfeffernüsse that came in the big tub.

Good memories.

We won’t be riding a lot of trains but there is a freight yard near where I have to go to go to the model train shop in Kobe iirc. You usually get some interesting stuff going by or parked at a station. We’ll see.

Aldi's and Lidl usually stocks these seasonally too.

What amazes me about our local Aldi is they carry no German beer. I find that strangely odd for a German grocery store.
 


Yesterday I posted a thread about my uncle's track my golf friend carpenter was going to bring to the dump. Today he brought me the second load and I way under calculated exactly how much there was. It turns out there are 12 (3ft tracks per bundle or box) and 18 bundles which figures out to be 648 feet of straight track. Then there's 8 boxes of curved track with 12 tracks per box that comes out to 360 feet which grand totals to 1,008 feet. I did count them all, but it looks like there's 20 switches. Some never taken out of the box they came in. Electronic brand new still in the boxes. Crossing gate signals etc. On eBay this track sells for around $2.00 a ft. I have $3,000.00 worth of track and electronic sitting in a spare bedroom. Swal

Maybe hold on to some of it in case you ever decided to switch scales. ;)

You might need a bigger house. If my calculations are correct, thats about 62 scale miles of track in O scale and 123 miles in HO. And that is just for the straight track.

Michael 2 years ago at the Stormville, NY Airport Yard Sale I brough 8 pieces of Lionel track and the guy said do you have anymore? Train stuff sales fast at this Yard Sale. I'll bring it all over there next June. Swal

I’ve taken more breaks than I’ve worked, but I still feel like I’ve been productive today. Although productivity is a relative term.

For the record, not a single thing on my to-do list was put there by my wife. I doubt my wife asks me to do a half dozen things in a month or two! Usually, it is to reach something too high or too heavy for her. She is vertically challenged and below the feather-weight class. But she has a lightweight step ladder and won't hesitate to use it. My little Angel can work like a horse and puts me to shame.

I wish I could do more, but I’m not here to whine. I want to rock it like a legend, but I’m just happy I’m still in the game, kicking and grinning!
