Good afternoon folks, 56 here right now and sunny after dropping to 35 last night [and no, it wasn't sunny then!]. Great day at church today, the start of our Fall Revival, we had several visitors, good preaching and 'dinner on the ground" between services. Revival will run through Wednesday. It was old fashioned day at church and we dressed up.

Well, howdy there internet people, and those still in another timey-whiney, wibbley-wobbley dimension.

It's Troll again.

Out in vegas. We didn't have controller delays getting here but we did have a plane in the hangar for repairs. Ended up about an hour late after everything. Still, got picked up by our friends and headed out to dinner of prime rib.

Yes, I like my meat less pink. Make sure it's not going to moo.

We helped them celebrate their 45th anniversary with the dinner.

In other news, I'll be author conferencing tomorrow. Going to start by working the trade show booth for one of the networking organizations. Two hours of glad handing and chatting with authors.
The daughter, son and niece and their hubbies or in the case of the son his girlfriend ate at Carmines at Caesar’s last night. The son says it’s crazy busy everywhere on the strip

Good Evening All. Clear and 61°, beautiful day today, high of 70°, humidity of 47% and a mild southerly breeze averaging 3 mph.

Regarding the end of DST, I can easily get used to the sunrise around 6:00 am since that's what it is most of the year anyway, earlier between March and September, but this getting dark at 5:30 pm kinda sucks. It will take me at least a week to get used to it.:(

I'm trying something a little different tonight for supper. I'm going to grill Lamb Chops on the cast iron stove-top griddle instead of in the oven. I've used the charcoal grill before, but that's a little tricky. Accompaniments will be steamed Broccoli w/cheese sauce and Blackberries. No potatoes since we had them last night with pot roast and carrots.

Gotta go now, and find the instant-read meat thermometer to ensure that I don't overcook the Lamb Chops.

Louis,
Plant these and you will be able to make as much kraut as you desire.
Holy mutant vegetable Batman!

I would certainly have more than enough cabbage!

But that would take away my excuse, that the prices are too high. The real problem is my hands would be useless for some time after chopping the cabbage. My wife said I could use the food processor, but I still need to chop it into pieces small enough to fit. The hardest part is the initial cuts. I would need a chainsaw to cut the stem off those cabbages!

Thank you, all the same, for thinking of me, David. I assure you; I do appreciate it. 😁

Good morning, Everybody!

I have once again fallen behind in the coffee shop. Fatigue has taken its toll on me. My glucose is great, and my blood pressure is fair, thank God. Rest has been the priority and will continue to be today. Except for having a doctor's appointment at 11am.

I have been in and out, mostly out. I skimmed through the pages I have missed. If I missed replying to anyone, forgive me. "Play it again Sam" I'll be more than happy to respond.

Only minutes ago, I finished watching the World Series. That could tell you how fatigued I have been. I would not have picked these two teams, but I can't imagine a more fun Series to watch! But not even all this drama, tension and excitement could keep me awake.

Sadly the 2025 MLB season is over. It is time to shift my focus to the NFL. The upside to watching the NFL is that my wife enjoys watching the games with me, not so much for baseball. The last few innings of the World Series were so full of drama that even my wife was glued to the TV this morning.

The Dodgers began the year with a payroll of $394 million. But it took a homerun from a journeyman utility player, Miguel Rojas to send the game into extra innings. Rojas had hit 1 homerun in every 70+ plate appearance over his 12-year MLB career. In a total of 56 plate appearances in the postseason he had only one homerun before last night's dramatic game tying homerun.

Miguel Rojas is a most unlikely hero, but a hero, nonetheless. It reminds me of Bucky Dent's seventh inning 3-run homerun in the 1978 American League East tie-breaker game. But Rojas' game tying solo homerun came in the ninth inning of game seven of the World Series! As Mel Allen would say "How about that!"

We have yet to watch the entire Ravens-Dolphins game. After watching the first half, the Dolphins beat themselves. The best thing about the NFL on Amazon Prime is they have all the games available to watch the replays.

To a European, baseball is truly foreign. In twenty+ years my wife has become a knowledgeable NFL fan. But baseball has too many mysteries as she calls them. I tell her baseball proves Americans are good with all the subtle details, and other countries too. Like the best baseball players. To become a knowledgeable baseball fan, one must have a passion for the game and start early in childhood. This year's Japanese players once again proved Japan knows baseball too!

World Series MVP, Yoshinobu Yamamoto proved his mastery of the game. Pitching on zero rest he gave the Dodgers two and 2/3rd pressure filled scoreless innings. He didn't have his best stuff, fatigue was showing. But he used his knowledge and plethora of pitches to get the job done. Christy "the Christian Gentlemen" Mathewson would have been proud!

Have an enjoyable day Everybody!
