A good All Saints Day to everyone. Temp is 45°F with light showers and drizzle moving through. Probably be over by 1000.

Parts for the locomotive are on the Fed-Ex truck and out for delivery. Probably won't see them until after 1600. Whenever he rolls by here with nothing for me it's about 1300. Whenever I have something it's not until 1600 or later. Probabaly won't work on this until tomorrow because it will be here right about the time I start supper.

And supper tonight is pork sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and applesauce. Mmmmm-mmm.

Servus!

Mikey - Great job on rehabbing those Chinese figures. If you don't mind a suggestion though, you need some of those guys wearing blue jeans!
Willie- Funny you should mention blue jeans and denim blue. That is a great suggestion!
Here are a few figures "in the process" of being painted. I seem to have a mixture of sizes - from Z scale to S scale, but no N scale in this picture.

For the owner/mods - do we really need to see this sort of crap?

Yet another rainy day, no white yet. Don't know where Ima gonna start today. Expedition needs front pads, and there is a s-l-o-w leak in the left rear tire. Planning on rotating front to back so will check the back pads while I am at it. Right front Tractor tire also has slow leak. So it might have to wait until Monday so I can get them to the tire guys. Started on the insulation for the Chick/Goat house yesterday. Had 9 rolls of R13 for 2 x 4 16" center we picked up on the cheap that Maria has been installing. Need 7 more rolls and something for the roof joists. Need to help her with that also. After that is installed, OSB on the inside, paint then on to the electrical stuff she wants/needs.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and now 53°. Weather radar from two different sources show that it's raining here, but my weather rock says no. I doubt that it will get as warm as the NWS says, due to the cloud cover; maybe upper 60's at best. Low 80's later in the week.

Had a rather lazy day yesterday after the late morning doctor visit. No changes in health or medications. He did prescribe a cream for a rash that's developing on the side of my right knee, I hadn't even noticed it but my wife spotted it on Wednesday. She likes my body to be perfect! Despite the early morning outside temperatures in the low-40's the past few days, I still haven't brought out the blue jeans since it's been pleasantly sunny with no wind. I did do some push mowing later in the garden to begin the fall cleanup.
As usual, no trick or treaters last night. Not sure what I would give them if they did come. Everyone at my doc's office was decked out in their Halloween costumes except the doctor himself. Then again at the pharmacy. I didn't recognize the owners mother who always manages the checkout.
Not sure what might be on the agenda today; depends on whether it really rains or not. There are lots of choices of tasks, mowing, cutting already downed trees, splitting firewood or brush removal. I did note yesterday that there were a couple of small fallen branches from the intense wind earlier in the week, under some trees bordering the hayfield.
Granddog has not been her usual self on this visit. I don't think that there is anything wrong, just not an ordinary visit. In the past she generally came into our bedroom and slept on the floor there at night. She has been spending the nights in the living room on her doggie bed this time. It's not the same one that my daughter usually brings with her, so maybe it's her favorite one. It does look new. The dog is spoiled. At home she has 4 beds. One in the living room in front of the floor to ceiling window, so she can watch the neighborhood dog walkers, walkers, squirrels, cars and joggers go by. A second one in the den, a third one in the master bedroom and another one in the game room. She used to also have one outside on the covered patio, but they decided that it was not necessary.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I made progress on the two projects that I am working on, I got the fourth wall glued into the Hydrocal structure, but I needed to clamp it into place overnight, since something is slightly warped. There is a gap of approximately 1/64" at the top on one side. I believe that the Walther's Goo will hold it in place. If not, some Testor's Putty will have to be used. I am looking forward to the next step of painting the walls. That's where a real difference can be made to set it above a plastic structure.
I also finished painting the handrails on the GP9U. Looks good from 3', or when moving. I still need to paint the horns, but beer drinking took over by that time. Thanks Tom O for the suggestion regarding the alcohol pre-paint. Unfortunately by the time that I read it, only the fireman's side short hood rail was left to do. My results while better, still needed a second coat, but it might be because of the craft paint that I am using. I'll be trying it again on the horns.
I didn't take any pictures of either one yesterday, so I'll show the progress later.

Mac - Great picture of BNSF 4062. It's really clean there also. Did you take it? Pretty far east for such a clean machine. It does resemble the quality of the photos that you take.
Chad - I guess that my doc missed your call, because he saw me less than 5 minutes after the appointment time. And that's because he had to wait on the nurse to do the weigh-in, BP check and other stuff. It's one of the long list of reasons that I like him, always on time. Especially since his office stopped seeing walk-in patients when the great Covid scare started up. He also ignored the mask mandate well before our governor issued an executive order ending it in Texas.

Besides being All Saints Day, singer Anthony Kiedis of The Red Hot Chili Peppers is 63 today.
Everyone have a super Saturday.

Good morning gang!

We survived the wedding and trick or treating. Had about 100 kids show up last night, still have some assorted candy left over. Son #4 is home from college this weekend so I'm sure most of it will go back with him Monday.

Wedding at the courthouse was small but nice. Afterward lunch at a local Mexican restaurant 18 folks. Then home for a nap before dinner and the arrival of the goblins and ghouls. After that a little work on lift bridge #1.

Speaking of sauerkraut, I bought Vlasic Old Fashioned sauerkraut. I was disappointed to read on the label it has vinegar in it. I didn't want quick sauerkraut; I wanted naturally fermented. This will work for the brats, but no way am I using this for my thanksgiving sauerkraut.

Almost to the day I was released from the hospital after my 4x bypass in 2010 I developed eczema behind my right knee. It itched so badly I'd sometimes make it bleed. I used Cortizone-10 for years just to keep it in check. Every day, sometimes two or three times a day I'd rub this stuff on.

And then one day it was gone in late 2024. 14 years I put up with this and no doctor could do anything to get rid of it. They told me it was due to an overactive immune system, which they also explained is why I don't usually get sick other than a mild runny nose and sneezing occasionally. I haven't had the flu since 2004, and not much of a cold to speak of in 30 years.

It's been great not itching and scratching for the last year. I hope it stays gone. I hope this isn't what you have either, because there's no telling how long it will last. The doctor said some people have it all of their lives, and others it might bother them for a week.

The best food we had in Germany was the simplest. House made sauerkraut and local bratwurst, in Speyer. 🤗
My wife hated sauerkraut until she tried this version. My wife doesn't drink so I enjoyed a local Pilsner that had a name I could never pronounce even if I remembered it.

And of course the obligatory dog at the groomer photo, on Halloween. 😁

Unfortunately, do not want to use AdBlock as *sometimes* I do check out those ad's. Bob should be happy with that
That’s why you keep getting “them”. If you’d not check them or go to “those” sites you’d not get ads for it.

The ads I see are mostly eBay though I’ve only stopped by there like once recently and then I checked something on swimoutlet.com and now every add is from there.
