Morning all,

Miss a day, miss a lot.

52° and clear this morning, high maybe of 70° later as a front is coming through. 56° predicted for tomorrow.

Friday is Veteran's day, so wife said I need to go visit my mom on that day as I don't have anything better to do (Yeah...right!). So I'll be heading north for a few hours on Friday. It will be nice to see her.

Local election results went the way I had hoped. While I can't vote here, I did want a certain council member to not get the mayor's job. She's ok, but can be a bit of the "my way or the highway" type.

Good Morning All. Clear, sunny and 63°. Nothing new in the forecast, 86° today, rain and 60° tomorrow. I'll be bringing in dry firewood today.

Not a lot going on around here right now, since mowing is at a standstill again, I have just been trimming some of those trees that the neighbor left me.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I puttered around with figures on a Hydrocal model from Downtown Deco. I added four more to the scene.
Before:

Added a transient to one side.

A gentleman waiting to cross the road.

A bar patron.

And a passerby.

I didn't spend all of my time on figures, I picked up another structure that I was going to add them to and remembered that I stopped rehabbing it last summer for some reason. It is Garner's Market, a laser-cut wood structure that I got from Chet.

At the time, I repaired some damage that was incurred during the shipment down from Montana, mostly minor stuff like repairing the outside stairway and reattaching the signs and trim. What I didn't address at the time was the roof.
IMG_0919.JPG

A bit too concave for my liking. Mostly it is well glued in place and the trim kept me from removing it, but I was able to separate the building from the base to access it from inside. Imagine my surprise when I found a second floor on the interior.

I am not too sure that I can make good use of this feature, but I will be thinking about it.
Right now I just need to add bracing underneath.

Bill - Is that you or a relative in front of the Boyleston Station?
Joe - That bus driver falling asleep could have been a really serious issue had there been kids on the bus or if it was anywhere else. Too bad for the homeowner having to move out.

Stock Market seems to be doing well this month. So far I have erased my October losses. It's actually been a good year up until October.

Everybody have a great day today and every day.

Good morning. It’s 55 and clear.
Good afternoon all. There is a strong rumour here that all this rain we are getting is coming from across the pond. If it is you sending it, STOP IT.:confused:🤣

Middle grandson visiting today after school. Will he bring his Lego Transformers? He has then built whilst I try to decipher stage 1.

Back later
It’s the gift that keeps giving…

Good morning, all! Awoke to a cloudy 75 degree day. Forecasted to be cloudy and a high of 82. The outlook is for rain to start tomorrow evening and continue for the next 6 or so days. (I have not figured out how to send it to David). Friday is forecasted to be an all-day rain event, guess I'll have to be confined to the train room, oh the pain.
Started a switching operation, but only got 25% through. Real world (wife) had other demands for my time.
We are in the process of looking for a contractor to remove a bathtub and install a walk-in shower. We had a local guy come by Saturday. He is working his proposal now. Anyway, he saw the train table and was fascinated. He is a closet model railroader, his HO trains are in boxes in the closet. After seeing my layout he said he have to go home and pull some stuff out.

Must be a contractor thing. The electrician that came over the summer last year to wire in my outlet and timer for my pool pump was a closet Ho scaler. When he went to the basement to do the final hook-up, he saw my layout. He said he had been collecting for years in hopes of constructing a layout. Turns out he has quite an extensive collection of Athearn Genisis locomotives with DCC/sound.

Scary thought but very possible. The High school bus passes my house around 0640, so I imagine the drivers start before 6? If tired from the night before, with a bus load of tired high schoolers....Imagine the frightful possibilities. The contractor, has trouble keeping drivers to begin with, so they will hire just about anyone who possesses a valid license and passes the physical.

Good afternoon: 52° and sunny. Chilly compared to yesterday, which wasn't quite as mild as predicted. Tomorrow will be mild again, the roller coaster effect, with an on again, off again rain prediction.

Wife had to take her mother to outside Physical Therapy, for an evaluation. Because it was an early appointment, wife had an early start to her day, while I slept in until 0700. When she returned, we made a run to ShopRite for $60 worth of essentials.

Heading to the train room soon as I'm done here.

Public Works just made their first pass through the neighborhood. I still have a ton to put out. They will be back at least once more before December 7. They have become quite adept at making multiple passes , since this program first started.

Still cannot find the local election results...Not on the Township Web Site, nor the local news site...

And back from taking mom to not be stuck

Seems when we made the Dr Appointment, they set her labs up for April 1, AKA 4-1-24

She transcribed that date to her list, and somehow 4-1 became 11-8. I looked at the paper and her 4 does kinda look like an 11. But the 1 was not an 8.

If it weren't for having the sis-in-law take her mom out today, this mixed-up date could have caused some problems in our one-car household.

But I smiled, and took mom out for her pancakes, then drove the 1.5 hours home grumping up a storm about it. Fortunately, the dude on the radio couldn't hear me. I don't want to grump at her, but when my plans get messed up on a tight schedule week, I do need to vent. I'll just do it in the sanctity of my own car when no one else can hear me.

OK, back to the grind. I've got 4+ hours to make up on my work for the tournaments this weekend...
