Boris Thank you for your kind comments.
Clarice is a pleasure canal boat. People hire canal boats for a week or so and travel the canal system.
Ada is a canal barge and its type would have been seen around the canal network. Ada's home is at Clarence Dock.
Kingfisher is a passenger boat. Its type is seen taking passengers up and down the canals or rivers. Kingfisher is based at Clarence Dock.

As an aside. Clarence Dock was a real place and many coal barges were seen there. Later in its life its name was changed to Leeds Dock. Passenger boats are seen there taking passengers up & down Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Well, howdy there internet goofs

It's Troy again. And for those still wondering. Here's the wikipedia entry:

Goofy is a cartoon character created by The Walt Disney Company. He is a tall, anthropomorphic dog[3] who typically wears a turtle neck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and is Max Goof's father. He is normally characterized as hopelessly clumsy and dim-witted, yet this interpretation is not always definitive; occasionally, Goofy is shown as intuitive and clever, albeit in his own unique, eccentric way.

Goofy debuted in animated cartoons, starting in 1932 with Mickey's Revue as Dippy Dawg, who is older than Goofy would come to be. Later the same year, he was re-imagined as a younger character, now called Goofy, in the short The Whoopee Party. During the 1930s, he was used extensively as part of a comedy trio with Mickey and Donald. Starting in 1939, Goofy was given his own series of shorts that were popular in the 1940s and early 1950s. Two Goofy shorts were nominated for an Oscar: How to Play Football (1944) and Aquamania (1961). He also co-starred in a short series with Donald, including Polar Trappers (1938), where they first appeared without Mickey Mouse. Three more Goofy shorts were produced in the 1960s after which Goofy was only seen in television and Disney comics. He returned to theatrical animation in 1983 with Mickey's Christmas Carol. His most recent theatrical appearance was How to Hook Up Your Home Theater in 2007. Goofy has also been featured in television, most extensively in Goof Troop (1992), House of Mouse (2001–2003), Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006–2016), Mickey Mouse (2013–2019), Mickey and the Roadster Racers / Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures (2017–2021), and Mickey Mouse Funhouse (2021–present)

Originally known as Dippy Dawg, the character is more commonly known simply as "Goofy", a name used in his short film series. In his 1950s cartoons, he usually played a character called George G. Geef. Sources from the Goof Troop continuity give the character's full name as G. G. "Goofy" Goof,[4][5] likely in reference to the 1950s name. In many other sources, both animated and comics, the surname Goof continues to be used. In other 2000s-era comics, the character's full name has occasionally been given as Goofus D. Dawg.
There is quite a bit more at the link, looking between televised/movie animation and the comic books. Goof actually did have a wife in one of those incarnations, but I'll leave it to those who care to read the full piece.

Good evening!

Good evening. Happy Election Day. Hope y'all are happy with the results. If not, wait 'till next time.

Interesting occurrence this morning a 22 year old, male, driver of a contract school bus crashed his empty bus into a house.

As you can see from the video...the house was no where near the road. He also took out a power pole and a mail box.

There were quite a few people at the beach and board walk today, walkers, joggers, beach combers and surfers, who had to be disappointed by the near calm wind and waves. One cannot see the ocean from the board walk, due to the dunes. They are there to protect the multi million dollar homes of the Masters of the Universe.

I did well walking, both on hard surface and the beach without the cane. The exercises I've been doing before bed do work.

My favorite Goofy shorts were the Sport Goofy series, especially the Goofy plays hockey one. Every position and goalie, from both teams looked like Goofy. (So did the Ref and Linesmen). The baseball one was good also. he also appeared in WW2 Army Training Films, which lasted through the Viet Nam Era. Goofy showed what NOT to do.

Taking the "dropping kids off at home" to a whole new level.

well, howdy there internet peeps, and those up early (or late on the other side of the pond)

It's Troy again...

A bit of the vent about to begin...

As you might remember, wife and I have one car. Sold the second off when we moved to California, and don't need the expense of a second, now that we've moved back to Indiana. We both work from home, so scheduling use of vehicle is fairly easy.

We both have our elderly mothers we cart around to various Dr. appts. We have a shared calendar on Google that we add the various doct appts to.

When I last took Mom to the doc, she had to schedule labs for her upcoming Liver Transplant Clinic at the Transplant ward. The date they gave her (today) is the same day as the wife's mother's eye doc appointment.

To get from mom's labs to MIL's eye doctor is almost a three-hour drive. We live in the middle-ish of that. Mom is 1.5 hour drive from me.

Mom had said she'd take the shuttle bus from her Senior apartment, so I didn't put her labs on my appointment.

I called her yesterday. "You're coming up for the labs, then to take me to breakfast, right?"

"No, mom, you were going to take the shuttle..."

"Well, I need to give them 24-hour notice, it's too late now...."

So we scrambled and got wife's sis to take MIL the 45-minute drive from here to the eye doc.

We're dealing with memory issues with my mom. So, I should have called last week to remind her, but it wasn't on the calendar, so I didn't realize she hadn't done it. Note to self, put the appts in - even if it's just as a reminder to have her call and schedule the shuttle.

This is the time of their lives when parents get back at their kids, right?

OK. Going to drink my coffee and try to get some of my gaming tourney work done for this weekend. Good thing I get up early.

Good afternoon all. There is a strong rumour here that all this rain we are getting is coming from across the pond. If it is you sending it, STOP IT.:confused:🤣

Middle grandson visiting today after school. Will he bring his Lego Transformers? He has then built whilst I try to decipher stage 1.

Back later
