Good Morning All. Clear, still and 52° on the SFW estate. Back to shorts and tee shirt weather yesterday, at least until Thursday when rain is back in the forecast. Last week's cold spell was quite unusual for us.
Not a whole lot going on right now, ground is too wet to work in the garden and it's too spongy to mow without leaving tractor tire ruts. I did spend some time trimming off some of the trees that the neighboring farmer cut down and piled for me to use as firewood next season. I should be shredding brush as that pile is getting bigger. Maybe in another day or so. None of it is really pressing. Right now the local birds are having a feast on the hackberries in the tree pile. Indoors it was laundry day again since there was too much for Thursday's load.
It's still lazy times out in the train shed. Although I did run some more trains, mainly to return some to the staging yard that I emptied Thursday. Two of them did get run to other locations and I prepared another for an "out and back" switching run for the next time that I run them, probably today.
Finished painting a couple more figures and sent 28 of them to the paint shop for dull coating.
Those two seated engineers come from Kato engines if I recall correctly. This morning, I will flip them all over and spray the other sides.
I also started painting two more bicycles.
Thursday I still had one set of handlebars on that sprue, it disappeared so now I will have to fabricate two sets. I haven't given up on finding the lost one on the floor yet, but I think that it is a lost cause; especially given the small leaves and grass clippings that I have tracked in that settled under the workbench. The other set disappeared years ago.
Terry - After my grandmother gave me my first Tom Swift book,
Tom Swift and His Jetmarine, I immediately discovered a whole shelf in the local library with those books. I checked them out and read many. But I liked the Hardy Boys better.
Tom O - My IPod is beginning to show some signs of aging, hesitates and skips songs. Bit of a bummer.
Everyone have a great day. I'll be in an hour later tomorrow, be sure to det your clocks back and while you're at it, check those smoke detector batteries.
