Whose EuroSprinter is that? (who owns or operates the ES 64 F4 in the photo above?)

I have a few of that or similar models (N) but nothing in that color. Always interesting to see who is running what.

Thank you, I love Christmas even more than my trains. Another wonderful thing about Christmas, trains!

I miss seeing Garry's Lionel Christmas trains already. I hope somebody will use them.

Delivering for Amazon I get to see many Christmas and other holiday decorations. I even saw a few Christmas decorations and lights before Halloween! I enjoy seeing decorations.

Halloween lights and decorations have increased exponentially. Many are still up.

Curt, I keep forgetting to mention how impressed I am with your two-mile walks!
Louis- we have a few people in Marshfield who don't really "take down" their Christmas lights, they just swap out one color strand for another. Red & white for Valentines, RWB for the summer, etc.

Good brisk morning from So. Central Wisconsin where it is clear skies at 23f degrees but since there is no wind it feels like 23. The high for the day should hit a balmy feeling 34. I wore a Winter coat yesterday for the first time this season on the grocery run.

I sat with the wife and watched the Packers win over the hated Cowboys and their somewhat beloved coach in GB in the late afternoon game. Thank you to the football gods for letting the Pack win one. It’s always a joyful time when they win in our house, joy all around.

The grandson’s hockey team swam and ate In a 3:15 hour span and left just before Packer kickoff. I will clean the grills today. A nice time and the kids had fun. Of the 4 tournament games they won 2 out of 4 losing to the same team twice. But you couldn’t tell they lost seeing them playing in the pool and then eating. Only one incident, since we allow NO GLASS in the pool area the one dad who will not drink beer out of a can or plastic cup tried to bring his own glass bottle beer in. The coaching staff handled it but I did tell the team manager if he does it again, the whole team will be asked to leave. Second time he has tried, second time he left but this time his wife was here, she stayed. Nice lady married to an idiot.

Alcomotive’s (James) sister has her heart surgery in Great Britain today. Never a fun time waiting on word about medical issues from far away. James, Terry and I hope for nothing but the best for her, you and your mom and dad. It will be a good outcome plus your Packers played a thrilling game and WON

enjoy the day

Mornin all.
Thought it was only 37 degrees outside this morning till I updated my smart phone. Reads 32 degrees now. I think I'll wait a while before I go for my morning walk. Might be my early afternoon walk.
Yellowstone premiered last night. Not all what I was expecting. They have been advertising, "All will be revealed", I might have missed what they revealed.
My daughter talked me into buying some club room tickets to the Washington Commanders/Cowboys game on 8 Jan. Not sure how to get there though. Parking is a nightmare on a pogo stick there. I can park in a Metro parking lot and take the subway to the stadium but still have a 2.2K walk to the gate or pay $35 dollars for private parking that's 1/2 a click closer. Parking in the lot at the stadium is pretty much all reserved for the season ticket holders, or I could taxi from Metro for about $50.

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 39°, rain still in today's forecast. Another nice day yesterday with the high in the mid-50's. Today, not so nice as the temperature will not get much higher than it is right now due to the clouds.

Picked up Saturday's mail yesterday from the mailbox 1.25 miles away and found my newest property tax statement there. What a surprise, my property taxes actually went down by $60 from last year. Still rather low by most standards.
IMG_2464 (3).JPG

On the left is the statement for 14 acres of agricultural land with the train shed on it. On the right is 1 acre with the 4 bedroom 1450 sq ft home on it. I have the homestead exemption for the house, and an agricultural exemption for the 14 acres, but no exemption for the train shed. The house taxes were also frozen seven years ago with the "over 65" freeze available to Texas home owners. $737.47 ain't bad considering one of my brothers pays that much every month in Dallas. The train shed actually adds about $200 to the overall bill. There is no longer a discount for paying early, but there is a penalty for paying late.

Busy day all about on yesterday. However I rewarded myself with a meal at our favorite Italian place instead of cooking at home.
Today is a trip to town to pick up the new beer fridge at Target. While there we'll stock up on paper goods and some assorted groceries that were not available last week at Kroger. I have a package at the Post Office to pick up and we have to stop by the bank to drop off the copy of the police report connected with our stolen check to complete their fraud report. The rain will start about the time we get home.

Haven't quite finished with the garden cleanup yet, but I have two and a half months before I plant onions for next season.

Thanks to all who reacted to or commented on yesterday's post/pictures.

I did get a small start on painting some of the newfound detail parts yesterday out in the train shed. So much for using them for a fill-in!

I may be too busy to continue on them today, beer fridge installation is top priority.

Snowman - It has now been confirmed that indeed six people perished in that plane accident in Dallas on Saturday. Very sad. Neither plane had any of the two "black boxes", so the accident investigation is going to be hampered.
Smudge - I have also been lucky with Covid. Is it because I followed the masking and distancing procedures or am I just lucky??? I'll never know.
Terry - Thanks for the explanation regarding the extra cars.
Dave (PV) - Actually $228 isn't such a bad price for nine freight cars, depending on condition and extras like metal wheels and Kadee couplers.
Louis - Many here don't ever take down the Christmas lights. We've been seeing some since Halloween. One fellow actually displays them all year long.

Everybody have a wonderful day.

Morning all,

38° and cloudy, waiting for the winter weather that's predicted. Expecting totals up to 1.5" or less in the local area, mostly on grassy or elevated surfaces. Not expecting to get above 40° for the remainder of the week.

Normal full week this week, then 3 shortened days next week, followed by a week off...Back to it as there's 3 days worth of stuff to catch up on instead of the normal 2.

They say 200.000 a month are moving out. How many are headed to FL I don't know? My neighbor moved there 3 months ago. My general practice and eye doctor moved there a few months ago. My other neighbor wants to move there. My sister moved there a few years ago. My brother moved out last year.
Swal
In a few years time Orlando or Miami will be the capital of USA?

Good morning all,

20° and light snow this morning, slippery roads! Only a shallow coating of snow but roads are slick in east central Minnesota this morning!

Luckily, no deer out and light traffic!

James - those cats are HUGE! our cats topped out at 12# and they would usually sleep on me. At least one or two of them. They have all passed but still enjoy thinking about them.

I worked on the Crex warehouses all weekend, got them planted "permanently" also did some ground work around them:

Here they are on the workbench, added some steps, decals, dirtied up a little

final resting place

The roofing is showing some wear from all the moves, makes them look a lot more realistic to me.

These buildings were used to store Crex grass hay which was made into grass rugs. Went out of business about 1930, however was an economic force beginning about 1900. The first building is close to the original size, the second one was actually 350' long hay storage building.

back later, Dave LASM

First photo: what kind of car is that? Early ford truck? Do you have any details on the measurements?

A few years ago, before the pandemic I had an idea. I drew up a schematic for outdoor LED lights that could change colors with a wireless controller. Hang them once, same lights for any holiday or occasion.

A few weeks later I was talking to an amazon customer. I complimented him on his holiday lights. He told me they were mounted permanently and could be changed to several assorted colors, including white with a remote control. Oh well, at least I did not waste time building a prototype.

Morning again,

The wet glue pictures are on my layout build. I didn't get back downstairs to look again last night.

I don't go down there when it's dark...there be monsters....

Ok, only when the grandkids are down there, but... I always tell them to watch for monsters when they go downstairs. They tell me that they are the only monsters down there. That's scary enough...😆
