Most "popular" games need Windoze to run. There are several reasons for that, but that can be a topic for another day.
What games are you wanting to play? Some are more graphically-intensive, and you'd need a laptop with a higher-end graphics card. Some are more processor-intensive, so you'd need one with a good processor. If you're buying new, try to get one with 32GB of ram, and at least a terabyte of storage.
Without boring everybody with the details, all the data centers being built are gobbling up all the memory manufacturing capacity for both ram and storage, and prices are insane for them.
As for brand or type, I'm partial to Lenovo products, just be aware they make many different submodels that may or may not be what you want. The one I have is a Legion 5 Pro, with the latest Ryzen 9 and RTX 5070 with a 240hz refresh rate QHD+ screen.
I have not had much luck with Gaming Laptops. I have 7 of them not functioning properly. I just need to format the disks and recycle. They last about 2 years. I have Alienware, AUS, and MSI laptops siting in my recycle pile. I gave up on laptops, and built my own desktop, that I can easily repair with off the shelf parts. The above advice is good if you really want a laptop.

Ferrari Luce

I cannot imagine paying more for a car than more than twice the "taxable" value of my 4 bedroom house, my train shed and 15 acres of land!

Luce reaction
Definitely agreed. This...pathetic (my opinion) new car is overpriced by a factor of ten. And it's not just my opinion either (I'm always late to the gravytrain anyway).

Acceleration from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds? So what. Almost any (or even all and any) electric motors give FULL torque right from the beginning. Thus the 0-60 limitation depends on tire traction, not input torque.

And thus (further) this is a sales gimmick at best. Even a Chinese EV...a BYD...could probably equal it. And they can be had for one tenth the price.

Ferrari, schmerarri in this case. I'd rather have your house, train shed and land too.

Desktop guy myself too. Although they aren't as easily portable, they can be repaired even by a numbskull like me.

Good specs on that Lenovo. I could see buying that if I weren't a desktop guy.

It wont be anything to massively detailed im more about gameplay then graphics
Probably something like this, then:

Lenovo - LOQ-E 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS 16GB DDR5 512GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 - Luna Gray

Bear in mind, that is a "no frills" laptop that gets the job done, and does it well, but that's it. If you want one that's a lot better, this one has a lot going for it, even if it isn't from my favorite brand:

Good morning Coffee Shop! It's Friday, 61°F (16°C) and mostly clear.

Weather:
Sunny then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 80s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Have a great day!;)

Good morning. It's mostly clear and 74.

Nearly 6 weeks ago, I had a relatively minor workplace accident, and broke a couple of fingers. I returned to the doc yesterday for what we all though would be my final visit and release to go back to work with no restrictions. The x-ray showed that, while the soft tissue has healed nearly completely, the bones haven't. So, we're working on an appointment with an orthopedic doctor now. The only reason I haven't been to one before is the only one that would accept workers comp and had any open appointments was about 20 miles away, and the appointment would have been for, well, about now anyway.

Which place???. There's two of them about a block apart on Highway 82, Smokehouse and Dieter Brothers. Both places are great and they use German smoked sausage for their BBQ Sausage sandwiches. Lindsay is about 22 miles away and it's where we go to church at St Peter's Catholic church. We regularly go for lunch with another couple from church to one or the other.
We go to the place on the north side of 82. It looks like it was once a drive in of some sort with covered parking out front and then added on to the main building. It has a large dining area inside, very nice. My son said 5 sliced BBQ sandwiches ran around $46 all total.........worth every penny.
I was not aware of another BBQ place nearby but my son told me about this one as he passes it coming my way and going home. I'm pretty sure it is Smokehouse BBQ.

Good morning all!

Happy Friday!

Another warm summer like day in the Midwest. Currently its a cool 52F, but the temps will soar to 89F. Looks like we have finally broken
in to our summer like pattern. If the forecast holds it looks like mid to upper 80s for the next 10 days with little to no rain.

I opened up the pool this week and have it all ready. I do need to order a new solar cover since mine started falling apart late last
year .I need to get one ordered since we are going into a warm sunny stretch it shouldn't take to long to get the water to a comfortable
temp to be able to use fairly soon. Better get that done today!

Nothing much else going on as of yet. Probably just the usual stuff around the house today.

Have a safe day everyone!

While they're both on the north side of 82, Smokehouse is the place. It has a curbside service drive-in in the front (like a Sonic) and an oversized dining room in the back. Dieter has a more varied menu with steaks as well as BBQ.

Good morning gang!

Sunny and 53°, heading to a high of 75°. Lawn was cut last evening, so I don't have anything scheduled for the weekend!

Speaking of company or team logos, have you ever noticed that the emblem on a Dodge Viper, when inverted, looks like Daffy Duck?? :D

As Johnny Carson would have said: "I did not know that."

In my case, "I did not notice that." o_O

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 68°, warming back into the 90's today for a few days before the next wind shift on Tuesday.

Yesterday's grocery trek went as planned, mostly. After making a big deal out of it, I left the pool water at home.:( I did pick up another load of chlorine and noted that the cost is now more than twice what it was in 2020. The industry has not recovered from the massive plant fire/destruction in August 2020 of the biggest plant in the country, due to damage from a hurricane back then. That despite rebuilding and being back on line since 2023.
On another note, the see-saw gas prices have again dipped below $4/gal, with $3.89 being the average about town. There was evidence everywhere that it rained a bit while we were gone to town...put a damper on outdoor chores in the early afternoon. Eventually it dried enough for me to hit the garden for more Green Bean picking and tucking more Tomato branches into their cages. Today I must return to mowing.

I once again just had a very short visit to the train shed yesterday. It's just been that kind of week. I'm looking forward to resuming the latest project. All that I did in that respect was to mix up another batch of glue/water mixture for scenery work. I did do some general cleanup in the room, so all was not lost.

David (Marlin) - Does the concierge doctor also get Medicare payments as well? My wife and I have discussed using that type of service, but the discussions haven't gotten too serious yet.
Mike - Cigarette lighters and ashtrays in cars are two items that I don't miss. I do miss those little crank-out vent windows and bench seats though.
My pool temperature is already 80°, now to just get the water cleaned after the pool cover mishap.

Everyone have a fabulous Friday.

Ok awesome i would have considered desktop but i dont have a dedicated space for it and i want the portability as i sometimes do travel

Currently sitting at the breakfast nook table watching the gate by the garage.

Posted pics of our cheap treadmill to FB Marketplace this morning.

Within 5 minutes I had a message. Jose wants to stop by and pick it up.

I only asked $45, so it will probably hit a garage sale, or resale shop. I just want it out of my basement.

I can go nowhere without a machine.
