FedEx managed to finally find his way to my house.

This is the newer Epiphone 'Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop' Les Paul Custom. Just about the only thing that makes this an Epiphone is that is was built in China. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. I've had several Gibson Les Paul guitars over the years and the only way I would be able to tell this one apart from the Gibsons is the name on the headstock, and how much money I still have in my wallet.

I don't gig anymore and it was not practical to spend $6K+ on an actual Gibson LP Custom. Epiphone produced this guitar with help from the Gibson Custom Shop. This has all Gibson electronics and most of the mechanical parts (except the bridge and tailpiece). In addition, this is the first Epiphone LP to have real Mother of Pearl inlays for the ebony fretboard and headstock diamond and logo instead of Mother of Toilet Seat.

I spent about 30 minutes inspecting it and the only thing I found was whatever conditioner they used on the fretboard had some residue that cleaned up. The binding is perfect and all seams and corners, no sharp frets or fret sprout, no high frets, though the intonation is slightly sharp on the G and B strings, but I haven't done the setup yet. The action is also a little higher than I like it.

I'll get to the setup tomorrow. I noodled around on it for about 20 minutes after tuning it, and it is every bit a Gibson in disguise. If you handed me this guitar with a blindfold on I'd swear it was a Gibson. I haven't put it on the scale yet, but I'd bet it's every bit of 9 pounds. Nice tone unplugged too.

Basically, Microsoft is forcing you to store everything in the cloud in One Drive, whether you want to or not.
Without going into another rant, it’s still possible to just upload to your computer, but it’s been deliberately configured to make the process complicated enough the average user will just give up, and do it Microsoft’s way.

Good afternoon to all..........

I placed a paint order with Hobby Lobby a couple of days ago. I love it when they say "Your order has been shipped" then check the shipping status to get this :

I did receive a new Broadway Limited, N & W unlettered auxiliary tender. $60 at Harris Hobbies listed on the pre-owned page. Jack Harris was selling this for another person getting out of the hobby. I've seen these listed for $129 to $249 on e-bay. Shipped UPS yesterday, arrived at my place before 4 pm today.

Feeling tired today as I didn't sleep well last night. Woke up at 12 noon today and took a nap from 2 pm to 4 pm. Need to get moving and not waste away another day.

I have a couple of models to finish, just waiting on some LEDs from Evan Design. Thought about SFW working on his RR crossings as I am also doing the same using the Blair Line laser cut wood pieces. I got them stained and have one installed and hope to get the other two done this evening.

Thats about it here at the Gulf Coast & Western RR headquarters in west Texas.

Take care....John

Absolutely. Microsoft's filing system defaults to "one drive" I have to be very careful when saving to my hard drive or backup drive to prevent the file going to "one drive", and even then I'm not sure I succeeded.

Meanwhile, Google mail has become almost unusable with Gemini trying to take over messaging and g mail. Guess there is no solution other than curtailing use. Who knew.

We have a fog rolling by the house. Went outside to see what visibility is like and it smells bad out there. Not sure what it is, almost like a chemical scent. Well, if I start growing another arm in the middle of my back, that would actually be good...

Greg has been working with Evan Designs and together they will produce the LED equipped EOT. Evan’s is doing the lighting and Greg (MacRail) has designed the EOT.
i did pre-order a red one (according to my research CN is using red ones).
but i will also have a look at the MacRail ones when they will be released.
They are not that expensive (Rapido) so i can afford to buy one set of trucks with the EOT :)
