Wake up call at 0500 by the Ford turbo-Diesel this morning accompanied by his big mouth yelling at two yapping dogs. I guess it's better than 0230.

Good morning folks. 63°F out there and dewpoint is climbing in anticipation of spotty showers later this morning. Cloudy now with ceiling at 120. Hopefully going to see at least a little sun later. I knew this was coming though. That's why I had to get the grass cut yesterday. The rest of the week is looking iffy for rain too.

Eye Dr. appointment at 0900 for a spot check on my eyes. I don't know whether she's going to give me the whole nine yards, or just a quick pressure check and send me on my way. Stopping by the package store on the way home for Bitburger and either Paulaner or Hofbräu. I can never decide between those last two because they're both so good. But different.

I have a new guitar arriving via Fed-Up sometime between 1000-1400, so hope to be finished at the Dr. before then. That will require an inspection and set-up after the neck settles in after getting it out of the case. I hope they got it in the ballpark neck relief-wise. I don't really expect it to arrive until well after noon as I never see his truck through here until at least 1300 at the earliest.

I'm signed up with id.me too. I had to have it when I set up my on-line AAFES account so I could shop on line at the BX. PITA to first set it up, but once done, it's done forever. I also needed it to authenticate myself to Illinois for my concealed carry IIRC. Plus, the SSA of course when I retired so I could get some of my money back every month.

Have a dry day wherever you are and be safe. Servus!

Good morning gang!

Cloudy and 64°, heading to a high of 76°, no rain until the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

Question for the Geeks, My Canon laser printer now refuses to print after the last Windoze update. My guess is Microsuck boogered up my drivers. Should I just delete all my printer software and do a full re-install?

BBL

I remember reading something about that. I’m not sure if uninstalling/reinstalling will help. Windoze is getting worse by the day.

Good morning all!

A nice day in store today weather wise. Currently its a calm 60F with sunny skies. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Looks like we
have a stretch of 80s that will last all the way thru the week. Looks like we are getting ready to hop off the spring weather roller
coaster and head into summer like temps.

Usual household stuff today. Have some laundry, dishwasher empty, and vacuuming to do. I started cleaning my car up yesterday
and have to finish today. I got it all wiped down and the windows done. Today will be a quick vacuum and run it thru the car wash.

Not much else going on at the moment.

Have a safe day everyone!

See if there's an update for the driver. If it comes back as none, then try reinstalling the driver. Hopefully that works. If not, then uninstall and reinstall. Do the least amount as possible at first.

I'm not a geek, but I can't think of a reason that it wouldn't help. It certainly can't hurt.

The same thing happened with my Canon MG2922 printer after upgrading my computers to Windows 11. The wi-fi drivers do not work and there no known update from Canon or Windows that will fix it. I have to use the USB cable now to print to this printer. It works very well so I'm not replacing it for something as minor as this.

The only disadvantage is I can't print from any computer without either dragging the laptop to the printer or the printer to the laptop. It sits on a separate cabinet to the left of my secretary and gets plugged in as needed. If I need something from another computer printed, I just email the file to myself and print from the Lenovo T16.

Nothing will fix this problem and there are no updated drivers for Windows 11 for printers this old. This unfixed problem helps Canon sell more printers to people who don't really need them.

Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 65°. Thunderstorms have been added to today's forecast. I do think that the folks over at the NWS are still drunk from yesterday.

Yesterday, I did end up doing dome mowing, but with the electric push mower around the pool instead of the tractor as originally planned. Picked more Green Beans from the garden, and did laundry and a few other household tasks. Today starts with the dishwasher again. Then who knows what?

A bit of a follow-up on the crop-duster from yesterday. That plane is an Air Tractor AT-301A; built in 1981 and still in use today 46 years later. Same plane that his father used when we first moved here. Interesting side note (to me at least) for John regarding Olney Texas, where Air Tractors are built. For over 40 years, while I was working at the window company, I dealt with Tower Extrusions based in Olney. They bought and recycled all of our scrap aluminum and I also bought aluminum extrusions from them. They had back-up adapter tooling for all of our dies in case of an equipment malfunction at our plant.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I took the day off and just ran trains. Had some thoughts regarding the latest project area that I am still mulling over.

John - You're correct that it is a radial engine in that crop-dusting plane. See above. Not sure how many blades the prop has, but I think that is 2. It's always turning when I see it!
Troy - HD sells wire by the foot, if the savings are worth the drive to get it.

Singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks is 78 today.

Everybody have a great Tuesday.

Good morning Crew and computer brainiacs! I just turn my IPadPro on in the morning and off at night. Best thing I’ve done was getting rid of all but 1 Windows thingy in the household. Terry though refuses let go of her laptop. Every now and then she will lose the printer connection and it takes awhile to fix but so far so good. No I do not know what version of windows she has without walking into her office to check.

68 now going to 89f degrees later with no rain in the forecast.

I need a need new set of cushions for my front porch love seat. Terry says we will buy a new SET of patio furniture. A f…ing SET not just new cushions! There seems to be a disconnect here! Sorry I even brought it up yesterday. I obviously don’t want or need new furniture. Kalshi is accepting predictive bets on this…

I need to take the old refrigerator that no one wants to the curb after taking the doors off. $67 for the recyclers to pick it up. Wednesday they do pick up in our neighborhood

The grandson has a soccer game at 6 this evening. Down the street on the stadium turf pitch at the local complex. This is an away game but we can walk over as it’s 5 minutes. The local complex consists of 32 grass pitches and 2 turf stadium ones plus a local college’s pitch which is grass! It’s in Madison on the border between the City and Towns of Verona. His home complex, still in Verona is 8 miles away.

The plan is to visit the bench this morning and prep for spray painting some structures this afternoon. All weathering of freight cars is complete. Next up for weathering is another 12 hi railer MoW pick up trucks

Enjoy your day

Question for the brainiacs!

I managed to get a gap or two as I reused sections of foam I salvaged from the 2ft wide benchwork in this peninsula.

Best method for filling the cracks?

I’m thinking expanding foam sealant??

View attachment 266423
I’ve done the gap filling a couple ways.

Easiest and quickest was dry wall mud the edges. I did NOT fill the gap with drywall mud. Add the dry wall tape and mud over. Sand as needed.

I also have done the expandable foam crap! Fill in the gap, let sit 6-24 hours and then i took a hack saw blade, taped over where the hand would grip it and sawed of the over fill on the expandable foam. It was easy and very little sanding was needed after the cut was performed.

Don’t over think it. Both ways are easy and work

Good morning all! 75 in the Brew Citty, going to 81 today. Gotta cut the grass again. I hope you all had a pleasant Memorial Day weekend. We did. The son and the grandkids visited for a couple of days. Lots of fun, but exhausting! I wish I had even 5% of their energy! Did a bunch of kitchen time. They love their Grandpa's pancakes and bacon for breakfast. The grill got a big workout too, chicken wings, burgers, sausage and hot dogs. We'll be set for lunches and dinners for days! Now I need a few days to recover from my "holiday"!
