Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 65°. Thunderstorms have been added to today's forecast. I do think that the folks over at the NWS are still drunk from yesterday.
Yesterday, I did end up doing dome mowing, but with the electric push mower around the pool instead of the tractor as originally planned. Picked more Green Beans from the garden, and did laundry and a few other household tasks. Today starts with the dishwasher again. Then who knows what?
A bit of a follow-up on the crop-duster from yesterday. That plane is an
Air Tractor AT-301A; built in 1981 and still in use today 46 years later. Same plane that his father used when we first moved here. Interesting side note (to me at least) for
John regarding Olney Texas, where Air Tractors are built. For over 40 years, while I was working at the window company, I dealt with Tower Extrusions based in Olney. They bought and recycled all of our scrap aluminum and I also bought aluminum extrusions from them. They had back-up adapter tooling for all of our dies in case of an equipment malfunction at our plant.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I took the day off and just ran trains. Had some thoughts regarding the latest project area that I am still mulling over.
John - You're correct that it is a radial engine in that crop-dusting plane. See above. Not sure how many blades the prop has, but I think that is 2. It's always turning when I see it!
Troy - HD sells wire by the foot, if the savings are worth the drive to get it.
