Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 63°. The rain in the forecast for 3:00 am was close. I was awakened by a cool shower for the second time this week...had to close the nearby window around 2:15 am. Prior to that the cool breeze from the north was refreshing, at least when I went to bed. Temperature in bedroom was 75° when I went to bed, 70° when I closed the window. Only a quarter inch in the gauge this morning. Cool weather (for us) continues with no temperature above the upper 80's for the next ten days; or so says the usually unreliable NWS.
The weekly grocery trek went OK yesterday, store had everything that was on my list. An additional stop at Home Depot for a new 230v breaker and outlet was easy. I've probably got a used outlet somewhere, but a new one was only $7, so why take a chance. I've also probably got a cover plate but didn't get another one since that's not critical. Outlet box is already in place. Later in the afternoon, I was able to mow several more critical parts of the yard, the back yard around the pool and the SW portion above the septic leach field. The grass there always seems lush! With a little bit of breeze and some sunshine, I might be able to get the expansive east and south sides later this afternoon. The erratic weather this year has disrupted my usual mowing pattern.
About all that I got done out in the train shed yesterday, was to wire up the outlet and breaker for the new A/C. Wiring was already in place, so I didn't need to venture into the attic to run that. At least I planned that right. Outside I moved some stored pallets away from the window so we have easier access tomorrow. Since there is a 7' overhang for an eventual (I hope) front porch, the ground is dry.
Patrick - May is historically our wettest month, with 11 rainy days and 4.5" of rain. This year we're ahead on rainfall with 7.35", but with only 6 rainy days. I had over 15" in 1982.
Marlin - Your wife's experience with the knee replacements is pretty much the same as my wife's, except my wife was a couple of years older. But then the first knee developed an infection which required two additional surgeries to remove the replacement and add a temporary plastic spacer infused with antibiotics. Them 8 weeks later to put a new Titanium replacement in. So, 4 surgeries to get 2 knees. The infection was 3 years after the first surgery, but was probably there the whole time.
Tom O - Medicare sent a home therapist out to assist my wife twice a week for 8 weeks following all of her replacements. Not sure why your brother's treatment is handled differently unless knees and hips are treated differently. EDIT: I just read your morning post today.
That's a pretty good return on the Boeing stock. Sadly for you, Terry was right. It was well above $400/share in 2019 before those 737 MAX crashes. I believe that it is around $200/share right now.
Joe - You're turning on the heat while I am turning on the A/C. Such a contrast.
Everyone have a fabulous Friday.
