Great Mike, glad my note helped. I looked and even though I have my list of “need“ things it is mostly supplies this time around.

I did sent it to 2 weathering clients I have been doing containers for. They both informed me the containers are great deals
Yea! The containers were an exceptional deal as well. I didn't get any. ScaleTrains is getting the bulk of the rest of the year's hobby budget with AC4400s, and BNSF reefers coming out this year.

I figured I better not push it any farther with the finance Dept!

Speaking of nuts... I've been on a toasted walnut kick for a few months. A discount grocer here called "Marc's" has 1-pund bags of walnuts for $3.99 a bag. I bought a dozen bags and still have 1 or 2 left in the freezer.

Toss in some melted butter, sprinkle on some finely ground salt, and put in the oven at $325 for 9 minutes. Really good! And they are one of the best heart healthy snacks there is!

Walnuts are really healthy.

Unfortunately they are one of my least favorite nuts. I do eat them but don't choose them. I'd rather have almonds or cashews or other nuts. I'll hav eto try your roasting method!

Yes, walnuts can have a pretty heavy flavor, but toasting them mellows it out quite a bit. for a full pound of walnuts, I melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a bowl big enough to contain the nuts and toss them in it as well. While tossing in the bowl, sprinkle with finely ground salt (I use a mortar and Pestle, but you can buy "popcorn" salt that is already finely ground. I probably sprinkle on a teaspoon of ground salt as I'm tossing it.

I always hated walnuts until I tried some of these toasted ones.

Chili or garlic powder or similar or something would be interesting as well... I have a chili lime seasoning I got at Costco as well as the Sriracha seasoning I mentioned earlier.

TLOC posted......I got an email this morning that a favorite online hobby shop for me, TRAINLIFE.COM is shutting down and the website is posting 40% off everything. It is the brick and mortar storefront for Exactrail but none of that brand is showing on the website. I will miss it but life moves on.

I received the same e-mail and purchased some Tru-color paints and Kadee trucks. 40% off worked for me.
I got online within 30 minutes of receiving the e-mail and most locos had already sold. They still had a few U. P. 4-8-4 Northerns in the Gray livery colors left as of yesterday.
I hate to see another train store shut their doors but regular prices at TRAINLIFE.com weren't cheap and I rarely bought anything there.

I also received an e-mail yesterday saying Tower Hobbies has merged with Horizon Hobbies.

I haven't been paying much attention to Tower/Horizon but I think the Tower ownership has been the same as Horizon for a long time. I used to do a lot with Tower like 25-30 years ago with RC planes and a little with cars and Horizon was the JR radio distributor and a littlwe while ago I was looking for some JR info and saw that Tower had been bought out by Horizon.

So this change now must just be a public facing formality. (??)

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 61F and currently it's a balmy 82F. After breakfast I did chores, talked with the tree service and got a haircut. The CFO (MOH) says we're going with this guy, so in 3-4 weeks the tree will be gone. Tomorrow is my annual primary care appointment at the VA. My labs that I take medicine for all moved in the right direction so I'm happy.

Louis- Neat photos

Hughie- Neat map.

Swal- Great photo, and another great RR story.

James- That is very true. When I showed it to MOH she just shook her head. :D

Christian- Cool locomotive.

Willie- Nice looking garden.

Karl- Great looking 1:1 steamer.

Troy- Kind of sounds like kids I know.

I hope everyone has a good night.
