Chad - It's hard for me to pick a "best" Yes album. All of them from the late-60's through the early 80's are equally good. I especially like the ones when Rick Wakeman was with the group.
They’re all very good or great. But my top 3 are

1. The Yes Album. 1971 (early)
2. Close to the Edge. 1973
3. Fragile. 1971 though very end so it’s known as a 72.

I own more Yes albums than any other group when it comes to “rock.” I probably own more Chick Corea albums over all. Not sure.

My first two Yes albums were 90125 and then Drama (which is a great album btw). Then on the advice of German teacher I had at university I got the early live Yessongs from 72. That introduced me to the golden era.

I never saw them live in their heyday but did see ABWH twice and then have been multiple times in the later 90sthrough early 2000 and again in 2014. Before Squire passed.

Well howdy there internet people (again)

It's Troy (yet again)

Got the ears lowered, and made it to the grocery (again... it's only 3 miles away. We go often)

Went looking for post St. P day specials on Corned Beef. Nope. Beef is 'spensive!

But spiral cut piggy was only 99¢/lb. So one of those came home with me. Friday is supposed to be good day to fire up the smoker. Double Smoked BBQ ham with Sweet Taters and leftover cornbread!

Tonight will be the Midwest Mexican place. Tomorrow probably pizza with the King (it's an Indiana thing).

today in The Fort, gas is running $3.89/gal with Diesel at $4.99/gal.

Still nothing from Louis. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Update on the Chesterfield crash yesterday morning.

Using the times the news reports gave led me to believe it was a LJ35 that crashed as it was the only aircraft in the vicinity of the airport at that time. That approach still looked sketchy to me though, as he didn't even have a base leg to speak of and just turned it right into the runway. Must have been a former military pilot. ;)

After running the replay all the way back to midnight on the 17th, the aircraft finally popped up on ADS-B data with the correct AC50 Rockwell Aero Commander 500B.

I don't know if he had a problem with the aircraft or suffered a medical emergency right after take off, but this flight was doomed from take-off. The Aero Commander stalls at 59KIAS with full flaps and gear down. The Aero Commander is not configured for flaps at take-off and the stall speed is increased, probably very near the speed he was flying as he tried to climb the aircraft. Minimum Controllable Airspeed (MCA) is 65KIAS. Specs don't say if this is in a landing configuration, but it usually is in the manual that way. So with flaps up and gear down (if it was down), again, MCA increases as well. Note that his rate of descent is in excess of 5200 FPM.

I also saw footage from a doorbell cam from a home near the end of the runway. He came down at about 70°+/-. All you can see are his wingtip lights just before the fireball.

Don't know what happened except the time reported was two to three hours off depending on which news source you believe. Poor guy. 65 years old and that's all he was interested in was flying, according to one of his neighbors. The aircraft sat out there for almost three hours before anyone responded to a possible crash. The airport was deserted at that time. It was probably the LearJet crew that made the report after flying directly over the crash site on their approach to Sprit at around 0207. It's a nice airport. I've flown into it several times.

Howdy all, just chased over to the afternoon here. 55F and sunny, supposed to hit 70 today according to the Weatherliar.
Sadly the US team lost in the 9th last night to Venezuela, but a fantastic ball game. A pitcher's duel overall.
@troyphoto I love those orcs, they will look great painted up. Hmmm, 5E 1/2 Orc Ranger Drake Warden would look awesome with that sculpt. Anyway got some more paint on some Battletech minis.
Hope you all have a good day.

I was fortunate enough to see the classic lineup of Howe, Anderson, Squire, Wakeman and I think that the drummer was Alan White at the time. Fantastic show with excellent acoustics.
When I saw ABWH it was was Bruford on drums (he before Alan White Their original and 3rd drummer) and no Squire. When I saw them in 2014 it was Howe, Squire, White, Geoff Downes (who was on Drama but came back in the 2000s with them) and their "new" singer, Jon Davidson. The others late 90 and early 2000 were without Wakeman (he did play some live stuff in teh mid 90s I missed). I saw them with tOny Kaye (the pre-Wakeman keyboardist who came back in the 80s and early 90s) and then a Russian guy on keys. I wish I had been able to see them in the 70s in one of their stadium shows or something but I was a wee bit young and not interested at the time. (I was 10 in 76). They're my favorite band of all time (though my favorite song of all time is probably a Styx song -- Come Sail Away -- and of course I have the utmost respect and affection for Zep and the other classic bands back when people knew how to write music and play their own music.

Some great reports of aircraft accidents on YouTube................

Blancolirio...... Juan Brown, ex military pilot, now flies for Southwest and owns his own single engine plane.

Pilot debrief....Hoover, an ex Air Force pilot who flew the T-15E Strike Eagle.

Captain Steeve.....retired American Airlines pilot who after 35 years had perfect flying record. One million subscribers on YouTube.

There is one other person who flies his own DC3 but I can't remember his name. He mostly posts on small engine aircraft giving monthly statistics on crashes and other related subjects.

I'm sure you are aware of these guys but they came to mind after reading your post.

Take care....John

Having a supplemental plan vs an advantage plan makes a big difference. We were warned by my PCP and my wife's orthopedist & GI that when we went on Medicare to get the supplemental part G. They and a lot of other medical professionals would not accept any Advantage plans due to repayment policies. We've had zero issues with BC/BS.
Medicare part G is the best. However if you you don't sign up for part G when you start Medicare, it is near impossible to get it. I tried 2 years ago and got turned down.
Unfortunately no one ever mentioned part G to me until long after I signed up for Medicare. When I signed up, Medicare Advantage was the "preferred" way to go. Things change.

Rabbit Rabbit!
Well howdy there internet AI Bots and those who use them

It's Troy again, still afloat in the Atlantic somewhere

Heading toward the private island today. No, not THAT island.

While I enjoy cruising, this one has been about one day too long. I'm ready to head home, not spend another day on a beach I don't want to visit.

NCL has really dropped their entertainment since we began cruising in 2005. The quality of performers is fine, but they have dropped their song and dance troop. There's a vocal trio, and a Sax Musician headliner. The BIG show is Syd Norman's Brew Pub, which seats about 50... So they put the BIG show in the theatre last evening.

Theatre seats 784, and the early show about about 90+ filled. Single seats only, or those in the far left and far right. So only about 1/3rd of the boat got to see the pub band (very good musicians) do a live version of the Fleetwood Mac album. Between songs, they told what the band was going through in their personal lives, two couples breaking up, and Mick Fleetwood watching his dream band break up. The happiest breakup album ever. Each singer/song writer poured their emotions out on the score, and sang the lyrics AT their former partner.

There was only one problem with the show... They needed a good sound guy that understood the difference between Pub Pounding high octave sound, and Theatre sound.

That was a reading from the first minute of the show. My hearing aids have full dome cones on them, so I lose a db or two. Not real hearing protection for a 50 minute show. According the the NIOSH standards, that level of 100 db+ sustained puts them in the half-hour of exposure danger zone. We got an hour.

BUT wait, there's more.

The vocals were drowned out by the instruments, and the vocal channels had a warble. Both the wife and I noticed it.

I had my hearing aids turned almost off. One pip up from the bottom to get some of the mids and highs that I normally miss. Without that, the singers would have sounded like the Adults from a Charlie Brown cartoon.

If they'd asked me, I would have dropped the vocals by about 5 db, the instruments by 8 db to give the vocals a chance to be heard, and the drums by 10db. The drummer was good. No complaints, but even my wife had a tough time hearing the vocals with her soft ear plugs in. The drums stomped all over them.

If the soundies weren't anticipating hearing protection at that volume, they need to go back to sound school.

I actually went back to the cabin and listened to the album via my phone, just to hear what the show could have been. I want to give it a good listen at home with proper speakers and a comfortable sound level to hear what the artists intended.

Sorry NCL, and Syd Normans, this is a fail on getting a good show.
If you weren't in the Atlantic, I'd be worried it might be Gilligan's Island. Which would not necessarily be a bad thing for a bachelor. I hear they have girls...............................

Nikumaroro would be much worse.

While I and the wife had to sign up for Medicare Part A and now Part D, we have not yet needed to sign up for anything additional as long as I'm still working and have the creditable insurance from the city. I'm not hearing friendly things about any Advantage plans and even know personally some who had a Medicare covered procedure denied by his advantage provider. Nice thing is that the Part D plan has no premium payment and we still shop the drugs as my prescription plan (included with my health insurance) covers some drugs cheaper.

Gong day for me today. When you finished your 28 days of treatment you have to strike the Gong before you leave. Everyone one in the place claps when this happens. You can see I was all dressed and ready to go home. They told me we have to take your picture doing this before we discharge you. Ok I'll do it, just let me get out here so I can stay home for a while without having to drink 10 glasses of water every day before I get here. Swal

Supplement Part F is preferable to Supplement Part G in that there are NO deductibles. Hard to find for that reason. The only plans heavily marketed are Part C Medicare Dis Advantage Plans. That's because they are highly restrictive Managed care Plans.

Some great reports
I watch Blancolirio and have been waiting for his report on this one, I guess it won't happen as he is normally timely. Will have to go look at the others.

I do tend to skip his non-crash report videos as he does the spin the camera around his head thing. Can't stand that when they do that. I'd rather see what they are talking about rather than see their head all the time. I already know what they look like.

Edited to remove some of the harshness.

Does anybody else think "HO Adventure" is possibly an AI Bot? Reading it's continuous spam like posts, it's inability to post photos, date & time, and replies like this.....

Michael B. -
Need some paint.
Can you help me find some BotBeGone Blue?

HO Adventure -
