Well howdy there internet peeps, and those who believe that Fat-bottomed girls make the rockin' world go round.

It's Troy again.

I want to ride my bicycle... ;)

For those missing Louis, I've reached out to him via FB messenger and have not heard back yet. Still waiting and hoping he's doing well.

I have an appointment to get my ears lowered again today. Happens every 5 weeks.

I joked with the wife that I could swing by the grocery and see if they have any more corned beef left. If so, I could make it for her dinner.

She said sure  I remember her making a face the last time I tried to smoke it on the grill. Way to salty. Pastrami was more her speed.

So, OK, guess I'll see if they have an left in the meat case. If so my plan is to crock it, along with onions, carrots, and some diced sweet taters. Neither of us is keen on cabbage, so we'll skip that part.

Yesterday, all I got done was napping and painting some toy soldiers. I had a semi-sleepless night on Monday/Tues, to where I was awake from the 2am piddle run on. That meant taking a snooze before lunch, and it threw my entire day off.

Can't remember if I posted these, but I 3D printed up some dragons with orcs o them for my developing army.

Need to put some primer on them, and then begin the painting once I finish the squad of trolls on my painting table.

Gong day for me today. When you finished your 28 days of treatment you have to strike the Gong before you leave. Everyone one in the place claps when this happens. You can see I was all dressed and ready to go home. They told me we have to take your picture doing this before we discharge you. Ok I'll do it, just let me get out here so I can stay home for a while without having to drink 10 glasses of water every day before I get here. Swal

Morning all,

46° and clear this morning, high later of 80°. What a swing from 75° Saturday to 14° Monday morning to 80° today. Supposed to be 91° on Friday, the first day of Spring. All the in full bloom Bradford pears are now brown. Those stinky trees are verboten from being added to anyone's landscape anymore. In the subdivision behind me, they're scrambling as to what to do as they have it in their HOA rules that any trees planted in the front yard must be these pear trees. And you want to know why I don't live in an HOA subdivision.

And I'll know for sure in a week or so, it appears that there may still some viable blossom buds on the peach tree, not many but some. It is starting to leaf, and those didn't appear to be frost burned.

Good morning Crew. The plows were out zipping by the house this morning before 6. That means it’s a manageable snowfall and nothing too serious. I’ve not looked at the WeatherChannel app but they were saying 2-4” yesterday. That was down from what was being said on Monday. I image it’s less than that based on how quickly the plows were moving this morning. Too dark out this morning to accurately tell and it’s supposed to be in the 30’s today

This morning I will be at the bench from 8 to 11. After lunch I’ll be weathering some freight cars. No plans today to work on the friend’s paper mill. I added a few pictures last night of yesterday’s non progress

The son and crews were on a job yesterday and actually the last few weeks. The hiring manager asked him to come to her office and asked how many crew did he have on the job and were any illegal. He said he had 2 lead people and 6 laborers all full time staff and no illegals to the best of his knowledge. He said wait outside for 15 minutes. A little worried he told me but it’s a big job and it was going smoothly. Went back in and she had 10 checks written out no names on 8 of them. She the owner of the complex has been talking to your crews without telling them who she was. Absolute gentlemen, all the checks were the same amount, $1000. each and was told these are bonuses. The extra 2 with names are for you and your office manager. He said he was so f…ing proud. With his he said he will spend on the crew and their families coming out to the ranch on Sunday for a party. I thought that was worth mentioning.

Bill’s donut picture has me thinking of heading to KwikTrip to buy a few donuts. But, I don’t need my glucose readings at noon to trigger any alarms. Damn they looked good except the pink one…

Be safe

Good morning. 38°F here, looking for 63°F today and into the upper 70°F the rest of the week. Maybe I can give my furnace the rest of the week off. It deserves a vacation and a new filter.

Grocery shopping finished and waiting for delivery now. Made the measurements I needed for a new structure on the layout, and while it will fit in the allotted space, it's not going to look natural in that spot. If I compress the building, then I won't be satisfied. More thought needed on this new structure.

Have a great day everyone. Servus!

24F this morning and not expecting to go past freezing today. With the melting that happened the last few days I can finally see some of my lawn, unfortunately that means yard work is coming again soon.

I used to live in Methuen, MA and drove past their shop 3 or 4 times a week.

Oh boy what a morning!

Got to the shop at 7 a.m. At 7:05 wife called in a panic, her car won't start. It just makes a staccato clicking sound. Grabbed a jump box and headed home. Jump started her car and followed her to the shop. Got back to the shop at 8:00, battery had a dead cell. Swapped out the battery and got her on her way by 8:45.

It's mornings like this that make me stronger, right?

Damn, the coffee I poured before I ran home is ic cold.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 48° to start our day. Did reach 64° despite windy conditions, Mother Nature sent those north winds back from the south after warming them up over the Gulf for a while. Forecast is still for low-90's beginning Friday, then back into the 80's when clouds return Monday.

Doctor visit yesterday went well, I guess. He made one minor adjustment in one prescription and took blood as usual. The local clinical pathology place has an office within his office, so it's easy. I am scheduled for a neck ultrasound next week to look at the Carotid arteries; been about ten years since the last one. Made stops at the post office, pharmacy and the local fried chicken place on the way home. That should overdo the carb count for yesterday. I don't know what to think about the pharmacy, as everyone there knows my name now! Do I go too often???
The visit from the granddog is going well. He spent all afternoon Sunday sniffing everything outside and all day yesterday napping. He's not as adventurous as our other granddog. The only reason that she's not here, is because she had surgery a couple of weeks ago, and daughter decided that it was too soon to allow her to romp in the country. She is being boarded this Spring break. She can easily scamper by my wife when the door gets opened.
No plans for today, we'll see what the day brings. It will be a nice day with winds staying in the low-teens. I will most likely get the planting bed ready for the Green Beans and Squash out in the garden. The SW corner of the yard still hasn't been mowed yet, it has stopped actively growing but is shaggy right now. Across the road to the east, I see that the rancher has opened up his wheat field to his cows for grazing. He never combines it for the wheat, but uses it as pasture only; unlike the fellow to the south who is a farmer and gets an actual wheat crop from his. Both fields look good right now.

Very little time out in the train shed yesterday and I spent it all running trains in and out of staging at both ends of the lower level. Partly to check out the operation of the two ground throws and the operation of those switches that I added them to Monday, partly to look for yellow freight cars that might be missing that part that I found a few days ago. That will bother me until I find the right car. The paint doesn't quite match any ScaleTrains engines, nor do I recognize it as an engine part. But I should check one of every model that I have to verify that; SD40-2's, GP30U's and SD45's. All of my Dash9-44CW's are in the red/silver Warbonnet scheme.

Tom O - You posted about being in "a strict recycling County", I wish that we had more of that here. I do my share with all vegetable waste going into the compost, all aluminum and scrap metal going to the recyclers and all my paper/cardboard waste gets burned. I donate my meat scraps to the local varmints, specifically the feral cats that now live in my tornado-collapsed barn. Any wood scraps eventually heat the house. But most others do not recycle unless they're in certain suburbs of big cities. And enforcement there is sparse. These landfills won't last forever! My waste removal company used to send everything that they collected down a big conveyor that automatically sorted certain materials out, but they have since abandoned that. Their comment was that those ultralight water bottles gummed up the works too much! Mainly they used blowers to remove paper and the bottles threw that part off. The machinery was designed for the heavier water bottles from 35 years ago. I saw a video of it in operation many years ago and it was really interesting.
Michael -
A LearJet 35 crashed around 0200 at Chesterfield Spirit of St. Louis Airport after a crappy approach. Not sure what this guy was thinking or doing. His vertical speed was over 800FPM just before impact and he killed himself. News reports show the aircraft was engulfed in a fire, but mostly stayed together. It was a total loss
What a crappy way to go.
John -
Other electrician in town is reasonable, but he carries a different brand of generator and if he gets caught hooking up a Generac ( or any other brand other than the one he carries ) the supplier of his units pull their brand and support from him.
Maybe a little cash on a Sunday afternoon would do the trick.
Surprisingly, my property taxes for 2025, went down! They do mow the road easement once a year though.
Regarding the wellness visits. My PCP does a real good job of making sure that everything that he does is billed right, so I owe nothing when it is all done. I have a supplement with Blue Cross, but I wouldn't use their advantage plan.
Chad - It's hard for me to pick a "best" Yes album. All of them from the late-60's through the early 80's are equally good. I especially like the ones when Rick Wakeman was with the group.

Everyone have a great Wednesday. Good luck with the snow removal if that's on the agenda for you today.

Having a supplemental plan vs an advantage plan makes a big difference. We were warned by my PCP and my wife's orthopedist & GI that when we went on Medicare to get the supplemental part G. They and a lot of other medical professionals would not accept any Advantage plans due to repayment policies. We've had zero issues with BC/BS.

good morning all!

Happy Hump day!

Warm-up starts today from winters latest round dealt to us earlier in the week. We never did receive the 1-2" of predicted snow last
night. It was maybe a dusting and already has begun to melt off the streets and driveway. Upper 50s tomorrow and a couple of days
in the 70s towards the weekend. Currently a sunny 34F with an expected high of 42F.

Been busy this morning with some laundry and other household duties. Pretty much have most of it done with the last load of clothes
in the dryer. Daughter has an early out from school so i have to run and get her around 11:30. Other than that the rest of the day should
be free.

Have a safe day everyone!
