A lot gets done when it’s warm outside. Unfortunately that ends today. Back to the cold. At least I got the cars on the track.

I translated the dessicant stuff that I've been buying and it looks like it cannot be reused. It says that it is lime based and breaks down into a powder. It also inflates the little bag that it is in, so I always give it a little growing space in my filament holder. I need to go look for silica beads or gel.

back to the silica stuff, i found that the majority of the stuff is sold in little packs. the packs are made of PET, which starts changing around 70C while the silica gel needs much more than that to dry out. So it'll have to be raw beads and make a container for it.

I had one of those green bambu labs boxes. Going to have to make something now.

Before applying the CA, did you make absolutely certain that spot on the glass and the mirror button was sterile? There cannot be any contaminant of any kind whatsoever on either part or the bond will fail.
I cleaned both the glass and the button, but may not have done a good enough job.
With the 5 minute epoxy today, I cleaned both again and the button is still attached to the windshield.
This time, I will wait over 24 hours before I attach the mirror.

Well, howdy there again internet peeps...

Trying to get myself back on a Keto plan with more movement. I almost wrote "exercise" but that's a negative vibe. So I'm working on "movement" which sounds easier and more fun. Exercise is just gym class, and I hated gym class.

Anyway, I'm getting pretty low on smoked meats in the freezer. Since we're about to St. Patrick's day, I'm seeing corned beef on special in the grocery. Been looking up recipes (neither wife nor I are fans of cabbage).... and I'm playing with the idea of Smoking it to get more of a pastrami instead of regular corned beef.
Has anyone tried that? I'm reading that one should soak the meat overnight in a water bath to let some of the salt leach out. then add the pepper and spices rub, and smoke like a brisket.

Hmmm....

or, I could just toss the corned beef into the crock pot and slow cook it all day. Add some sweet taters and carrots... Hmmm
Deli here cant even get corned beef (*or just wont). Sigh.

When you get it all maintained and put back together do you guys to take a few test laps? You know, to make sure it all works as it should. ;)
That's actually an interesting question with regards to joining or building modules such as the ones I contemplate: Free-moN. There should be a self-test protocol or sequence you can go through to verify your new modules (particularly if you are a noob like I will be) are working properly. Most of the shows and setups are pre-planned, and I would hate to be the guy whose modules were planned in or set in, but then wouldn't work with the rest.

Yes, a standard should allow for that, and as far as I know Free-moN does...
...but you still don't want to be "that guy."

Absolutely! We usually ride all the coasters, even this little one. First runs are nerve racking. With new wheels, bearings and fresh grease, the chances of the train going slow and getting “stuck” increase. Water dummies replace real people for the break in period. Once we are satisfied with the performance of the train and all safety features function properly as designed, we get to ride for several runs.

Good morning to all including those who’d replace Bob’s”water dummies” to get a free coaster ride. I’ve never been a coaster person since back as a kid we got stuck on a coaster called the Bob’s at the old Riverview Amusement Park in Chicago. Mom loved them even after we got struck and even into her late 70’s riding them at 6 Flags Gurnee, Il.

The weather is ok. 28f degrees now heading to 46. The winds will be strong gusting into the 30’s but after midnight they have a wind advisory up as they will be steady in the 40’s and gusting into the high 50’s. That should make things interesting!

The estranged sister who is almost back in the fold well her husband had his Carotid Artery surgery last Thursday and it was good. They had done cognitive testing before the surgery and decided he had early onset dementia. They will test him again today. His artery was 90% blocked impairing blood flow to the brain. They still think he had a stroke but they will test for that now that the medical bills are being handled. He’s 61. Terry and her younger brother received a very nice text message from him thanking them for helping out. Terry has heard nothing from her sister though…

Enjoy the day

31°F out there today. Winter is going to hang on a little longer here, but 55°F later today. Nothing going on around here today. There is an Iranian numbers station I've been trying to track down since Saturday, so I will probably spend some time on the radio later this afternoon.

Have a great day! Servus!
