CA will not work on rear view mirror pucks.Open mouth, insert foot, shake it all around!
After i bragged about my gluing skills to re-attach my rearview mirror in my pickup, I hit the mirror with an umbrella handle this morning. Any guesses as to what popped loose?
I guess that Chinese ACC was not so great after all or maybe I need more gluing practice.. I mumbled some words about a hydroelectric structure a few times and gathered up the mirror. Sanding the ACC off the metal mounting button is so much fun.
I am headed out today to find some 5 minute epoxy and will see if that will work better than ACC.
Next chapter of this saga will be next week.
They do make adhesive kits specifically for windshields, just sayin,,,Open mouth, insert foot, shake it all around!

I watch the South Main Auto channel and he's really been ranting about the cheap cr@p from the parts stores and even the OEM lately. He explains how repair shops have to eat costs when the "new" parts get delivered. Time stamp 43:30 is when it all comes apart.I blame it on cheap manufacturing
Some yes. There are vids on YouTube about recharging them. Even the clay ones can be dried and reused with cauthion. That's cool! Are all dessicants like that? I didn't know you could revitalize them. That would save me some time and money.
Yes, they can mostly be revitalized. Silica Gel for example, needs just 45 seconds in the microwave. That's cool! Are all dessicants like that? I didn't know you could revitalize them. That would save me some time and money.
