Good Morning All. Clear, calm and 40°. The wind will return today, this time coming from the south, but only at 20 mph. That's not enough for an advisory like many of the days in the past two weeks. Highs in the upper-70's and low-80's for the next ten days, with a chance of rain beginning Thursday. That's bound to happen after a week of moist air being blown up from the Gulf.
This is a picture of the pool cover billowing in the wind Wednesday...surprised that it didn't come off.
Only thing holding it somewhat down, was the rainwater on top which was forced to one side.
Nothing special about yesterday's grocery trek, store wasn't as crowded as usual. Egg prices are now $3.99/doz but gasoline has risen to $2.89/gal again. Afterwards I did some mowing in the back part of the yard and around the pool. I also started mulching another pathway in the garden, this one is between the Green Peas and the eventual location of the Tomato plants.
Only spent a short time out in the train shed yesterday, and just did some painting. But that's where I left the camera, so no pictures this morning. I spent most of that time painting two lawn chairs from MiniPrints. They're the web variety and painting the aluminum framework between the webs was challenging. They came out satisfactory in the end. Pics tomorrow!
David - Although you're probably already at the hospital and can't read this, I hope that everything goes well with your procedure today.
Tom O - That English Muffin and fried Bologna for yesterday's breakfast looked real tasty. That's real great regarding the admission and response to the ScaleTrains poorly operating trucks. Too bad that all businesses (and governing bodies) don't respond in the same manner.
Len - That's good news from your doctor.
Mike - The couplers on ScaleTrains have been a disappointment for me since I received the first engines from them a few years ago.
Karl - Amusing story about someone being stupid. My tale of stupid people and cars is a little different. Many, many years ago, two coworkers went out to a bar for a few too many beers. The place closed and worker #1 was really inebriated, so worker #2 was going to follow him home. They decided to stay off the main roads. After a few minutes, #1 pulled over while on a side street in a neighborhood and parked because he couldn't stay awake either now. So #2 took him home. The next day, they went to look for the car but neither remembered where it was parked. They drove around for 3-4 hours and never found that car. They reported it missing to the police but they never were made aware of an abandoned car. They never found it and #1 had to buy another one.
Everyone have a fantastic Friday.
