Good morning. 77f degrees now and 95 later with heat indices over 105! A great day to be on a lake but after the very humid walk to the curb with the garbage bin I find the winds blowing at 15mph that it’s not bad on the back deck!

Troy! Here’s a tip for you. Since we moved here in 2014 and have curbside garbage pickup I have never forgotten to put it out. Part of the reason is it’s the only day I set my alarm. Haven’t needed it yet but you never know!

The grandson was being observed closely by one of the girls a couple houses down yesterday. Turns out he may not be as oblivious to the other sex as I thought. He walked over between cutting and talked to her. They do know each other, same grade different schools but they used to be on the same soccer team. He invited her back to his place to swim after texting his mom. The girls mom came over before he finished my lawn to confirm it was ok and that I was driving them over to his house. Unaware at that time but agreed as i was driving him home anyway!

Enjoy the day

79°F/77°F right now at 0730. I'm not used to it being this miserable this early in the morning. Looking at a high of 97°F today and a HX of 109°F.

Nothing going on outside today except Willow from time to time.

Running trains this afternoon after lunch. I need to do some light dusting in the train room too. Lots of passenger cars starting to get dusty.

Have a great Monday! Servus!

Good morning folks, gonna hit 97 today with a Heat Index of 110F. Eeek!
Anyways, Happy 250th America! Sad that we were not able to get to DC to see the Fair, but we are going to do some local things here, on the 1st, the local Reserve is having a flyover at Noon, can't wait to see that.
Gonna try to fit my TTrak modules together to day mark out the road that will run as a common point between them and then start fitting buildings. Been reading thee manual for my new DCC system and gonna fit the power outputs to it and get testing on my existing DCC locos. Wish me luck.
Lady C has to take her car in for a warranty fix and is going to get a loaner car and shop while they are working on it.
You guys have a good day.

Good morning all!

Going to be a scorcher today thru Friday. Already 81F with the high expected to top out at 93F. Humidity is the big story
its sitting at 88% as of now. Heat advisory goes into effect at 12pm and goes thru Thursday. Not sure why they didn't just
put it up for the whole week.

Usual household chores again this morning. No outdoor plans scheduled for today. A trip to the pool will be in order later this
afternoon.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 79° with a higher than normal humidity of 84%. That will drop rapidly as the day continues. Hot and no rain for a few more months with our first triple-digit day forecast to be Saturday the 4th. While the forecast called for 98° yesterday, it only reached 94°' maybe the same will happen today.

Forum was not working for me mid-day yesterday. When I finally got in later, I had forgotten what I was intending to post about! Otherwise nothing special about the day, church, two loads of laundry, picking Tomatoes and some light mowing on the NW corner of the yard behind the train shed.

Another doctor visit this morning with the PCP; actually I think that I get the NP again today, this time the regular one instead of the new one from the last visit. After that I think that we're meeting up with daughter #1 for lunch somewhere. Afternoon will be a nap, visit to the pool and the train shed.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I mainly did minor stuff in my current project area. Got the sidewalk installed on the corner where the Bakery is going. Got parts of the grade crossing installed and did some more road striping.

Troy -
Our system is binary. but not really.
The guy at the top may change, but incumbents in the other elected branch are re-elected more than 90% of the time; so nothing really changes. Congressional stagnation is what I call it.
Tom O - Another couple that we go out to dinner with occasionally are poor tippers in my opinion. We always split our meals and she always tips a flat 10%. I make it up and (secretly) up my tip every time to show my appreciation to the server.

Everybody have a great Monday. Stay cool and hydrated.

Axl is now a fat Boomer.

Good morning, all! Please don't feel slighted as I can't seem to "like" each posting. Some do instantly, others take 10 to 15 seconds and yet other go to the Oops warning. Currently, I'm stuck at page 65. If I click 66 I get a white page with Oops. The forum is not that enjoyable.

Troy - Birthday wishes to your wife.
Chet - I'm still not sure whether it's you trains or your automobile collection that I most enjoy.

Hope this posts

I was at the on-line AAFES store and jumped over to Sportsman's Guide looking for a new M-65 field jacket w/liner. AAFES didn't have an issue jacket since the military doesn't use them any longer. All they had was a Rothco overpriced repro at $125. Too much for a knock-off. I was hoping to find a Proper brand jacket but the Exchange doesn't carry them.

Sportsman's Guide had an unbranded M-65 on clearance for 53.99, regular $155. Comes with the liner too. I'll see who makes it when it gets here. I'm hoping it's Proper, but Mil-Spec would be OK too, and so would Condor.

Anyway, I get this notification at the bottom of the invoice after paying that I have to send a copy of my FOID card for this order. WTF??? For a jacket? For those not familiar with this Communist state, firearm owners are required to be singled out and identified with a separate identification card for firearm and ammunition purposes.

I comply and send them a copy of my FOID card with the question of 'Why?'. I received an almost immediate reply saying that it is a coding mistake in the ordering software and Illinois, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Connecticut are sent that notice for any order. They're working on fixing it.

I haven't had an M-65 since I left the Air Force, but I always liked that jacket.

Good afternoon. Weather here is light showers and 64 degrees. Lit it better than the heat also, but even being close to the rives, the humidity is usually low.

Texas Hobo - Appreciate thee comment. It took over 35 years to collect what I had. I tried to get the most accurate to scale vehicles I could. Not much of a choice back then except Alloy Forms but went uphill from there. I have managed to sell off a number of them but still have about 100 or so left.

If anyone has any leftover or surplus scenery materials or smaller building that you might want to trade for vehicles or freight cars, let me know.

I did get on the internet and ordered some scenery materials and a #4 left hand switch, and also some materials to make some trees. Didn't know that MB Klein and Model Trains and Stuff had merged.

DeaconKC - You can keep that heat down there. My old body doesn't like it.

Kusojiji - When I was in the Navy, I worked on the guided missile radars and computers and we had something we called the "Smoke Test". If we had worked on something and wanted to see if we got it right, we would put the power to it. No smoke, the chances are that we done good. Too bad you're so far away of I would send you the RDC2 i posted yesterday. I have no use for it.

Troy - Those hoagies sure look good, along with the Steak-n-Cheese. I'm gonna have to get going on dinner soon.

Willie - It sounds like you had a good visit with your daughter. As you know I am a car nut and there's nothing that anyone is selling new that I would consider buying. I watch a lit of auto blogs and there just too much technology in the newer cars and a majority of the issues with new cars are from the technology. So many features are controlled by the touchscreen and the shops are pulling their hair out because the problems are so hard to chase down. I'll keep my 1997 Buick Riciera. It does have a few sensors but nothing like these new vehicles. It has the GM 3800 V-6 which is pretty well bulletproof and the old fashion torque converter transmission.

I did stop by the hardware store today and picked up some material and paint for the roadway on my module. I want to make it look as close as possible to the real thing and in a small space like I have, it is important.

I tried to condense Tschache Oil to give more space for other structures. I
'll have to get a hold of Todd and see if there's any way I can get my Silver Star diner back. An eatery would be a good addition.
