And finally.....I went into the shop to preload the first SBR and saw a new pile of LE trade-ins. 100+ S&W M&P15's. As they sell they will just replenish the rack.....$450 each. Heck, the sling alone costs $75 new. They've seen more use taken in and out of the patrol vehicle than at the range.

What Slings are those? They look like they're based on the BFG "Vickers" sling.

Interesting all the Magpul gear on them.

Hello from Wisconsin. We saw the movie Odyssey this afternoon. Interesting to say the least. Matt Damon was excellent, AnnHathaway was phenomenal and John Leguizamo put in the best performance of his career. Definitely a movie to see at the theater. We saw it in the full 70mm IMAX theater and that was worth the extra $$$ IMAX costs over the other type of screens.

Oscar worthy? As Movie of the Year and millions of production and technical things absolutely. If any actor wins awards it will be the from the 3 I listed above plus Tom Holland. Charlize Theron was stunningly gorgeous and Zendaya, OMG she just takes my breath away she is so beautiful. Oh yeah, the movie is a definite recommend to see from me

We had a good dinner not at the Italian place because we couldn’t make our reservation time. So we ate near the hockey rink the grandson played at tonight. 8-6 his team won and he had 3 goals and 2 assists in the best game he has had this summer season. He’s grown 3” since Winter hockey ended in April and he looked comfortable out there. He’s no longer timid along the boards as he has started realizing he can handle the hitting which i s allowed starting at the Bantam level which is what he is this year. He signed up last minute for just a skating clinic spread out for 6 sessions over 2 weeks. 30 hours of drill and skate time has IMOO gotten him skating like his old self which had been missing the last few months. I truly believe the growth spurt hurt his skating

So you mean there is still hope for my Cubbies! :D
If the playoffs started today the Cubs would be the National League's #1 Wild Card team. With their explosive offense, if the veteran starters bring their A-game in the playoffs, they could make a strong run deep into October.

@DeaconKC Both of our Birds got shelled last night! Lose by 1 or 8 it is still only one loss. There is still plenty of time to win two out of three and make the playoffs.

listening to the Cards v Cubs right now is rather painful! 2nd Inning and 7-0 Cubs....yeesh.
I'm watching the replay of yesterday's Orioles @ the Tigers game, bottom of the 6th, Tigers 9 - Orioles 0 the Tigers are opening up a can of whoop ass on my Birds on the way to a 14-0 blowout! But that won't stop me from watching every pitch right to the end.

If my Birds can win today, we take two out of three and leave Detroit with a series win. Our Ace Trevor Rogers takes the hill today; I like our chances!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those wishing MARCO a happy birthday!

It's Troy again.

I mentioned some time last year that Destin at the Smarter Every Day youtube channel had set out on a quest to make a "Smarter Scrubber" grill brush that was 100% made in America. Interesting video, but long as he covered the woes of trying to produce something 100% made in America.

he's almost there right now. One item (the chainmail) is split between Canada with US steel supply, and some of it made in the US - but limited because that company fills in around it's one super-sized monopsony customer. The US can't keep up with the demand from the Smarter Scrubber, so they had to partner cross border, eh.

So he made a second video, talking about what happened after they said "Close enough" with a couple of screws, and the chainmail not quite US made...

If you've got 55min, it's worth the watch just to learn about the manufacturing process. The (probably) AI Generated title is misleading. He does cover some basics of Economics (hence the capitalism) but it is NOT a political hit piece. It's manufacturing/Econ 101 level stuff.

It's an interesting vid and I learned stuff while listening to his story of overcoming manufacturing challenges to make a smarter grill scrubber.

The Cubs are intimidated by the Brewers and will get stopped there in any playoffs

How do you clean the railhead Marco? Ammo dries hard in my experience.

Belated birthday wishes

Good morning. The granddog is out running his assigned property. But he has moved! Monday night he went to his stall in the stables where he sleeps when his family goes out of town without him. He sat there and refused to go up to the house even though they are home. Last night same thing so the son in law brought down his sleep crate. I let him out at 6. He has it made. When the horses are out in the corral he joins them. He sticks near the daughter when she is in the office or her workshop during the day. They said he will come back to the house in the next T-storm and stay again. .

Its chilly at 56f degrees but heading maybe to 90.

I will complete 4 each of the birches and maple trees today of various sizes. Then work on 4 Aspen. I want to take them to the Friday work session

My labs results came back mixed yesterday. The Lyme disease type fatigue has returned and even though they cannot find evidence i got bit the symptoms are back. So back to the power meds for a few weeks. I’ll feel better for awhile. Lymes Is a lingering thing.

Enjoy the day

Those two gave us a fun National League Division Series in 2025 the first time the I94 rivalry was on display in the playoffs. The Brewers took the
series three games to two. Homefield advantage proved to be the difference with the Brewers winning all three in Milwaukee.

As much as I follow baseball, I never bet a dime on it. Simple reason: in baseball, you just never know.

@traiNscale Happy Birthday!
