Good morning all!

Another warm humid day. Currently is 73F and the high is supposed to be around 91F. A dip in the pool will be in order this
afternoon. I left the cover off again last night to try and let it cool off some.

Have a few things to do around the house this morning..

Nothing else planned tor the day that I know of.

Have a safe day everyone!

I just found out our IT department has blocked many websites and apps from our network, even the public version for our customers.
Disney, Apple TV, even Youtube are blocked.
From now on, when a manufacturer tells us to watch a Youtube video on how they want something done, we have to tell them we are not allowed to watch videos, and they are going to have to email printed instructions. I know how this is going to turn out…

Pinheads!

Ya gots to be kidding! Suspect in the grand scheme of things it will not effect customers - they have that magic box they carry around; usually in their face. On the other hand, how are you supposed to get anything done if you can't watch videos. Sounds to me like management is trying to get the doors closed. Sharpen up the Resume...

Good Morning All!
59F @ 61% overcast. Got to 98F in Spo yesterday, 84F here.

Trip went with out a hitch, well - Maria decided she wanted to go to Cheney and visit with a Pygmy breeder. Added about 2 hours to our round trip time. She was in heaven - Goats, Horses, Ducks, Geese and Dogs; all certified ( 'cept some of the birds ) and all over the place . The Pygmy's were well founded, all with bloodlines in a spreadsheet. Of course, Maria wanted this one, that one, oh - the one over there and the one she was holding. $1000 for a Doe now days. And you thought this hobby is expensive.

I did find out something I did not know - Kinsie ( breeder ) was driving on I90 and spotted a Canadian Goose baby on the side of the road. She stopped and looked around for mama, waited for 2 or 3 hours to see if mama would show - notta. So she grabbed the baby and took it to the farm. Canadian's are endangered and is a felony to have one. So she called wildlife and explained. Officer came to their farm wanting to take the now 3 month old bird and re-introduce to the grand wild. Bird kept hopping back into Kinsie's lap. They walked around the farm and it was decided that she could keep the thing. She is now certified for endangered species at zero cost. Was a pretty tidy farm, not spotless but still a farm.

Our Chinese place closed end of last month so Maria was b'tichn about wanting some. Took the long way home via 'Pearl Buffet' in North Spo of which we used to visit quite regular. It was crap and now off the list as is the Kalispell one. We are running out of Chinese options!

Left at about 0900 yesterday AM, and did not get back until 1930. Thank the powers that be for AC.

Lil is doing great. The two black spots to kill the horns makes her look '4 eyed'.

@bnsf971 probably has already taken care of - we have/had a new user named 'customer' ... hmmm.

I think Blackstone Models makes HOn3stuff. I don't know where they stand at this point on production. I do know they go for a premium price on the secondary market.

Bachmann may make something in that scale as well.

Hello from the smoke filled haven called Wisconsin. Minnesota I don’t get it, we love your state! It’s a smaller, emptier, cooler with less lakes than Wisconsin but it’s still a super great place. Just because we don’t call our puddles lakes shouldn’t make you mad enough to send your wild fire smoke our way. Ignore the letters coming from the wrong side of the aisle asking you to put the fires out. Mother Nature has her way but sometimes arsonists help and most of us understand. Canada please remember most Americans love you guys too but totally understand why you maybe upset. Just remember smoke might have tariffs applied. Can’t help you on that issue…

What should be a beautiful switch day may not be. The high today is to be 90 and low humidity plus there is a very nice steady 10mph breeze that unfortunately is pushing the wildfire smoke and particulates our way. Currently the wind is from the northwest bringing the Alberta and Minnesota gifts to us. The smell and the smoke haze remind me of August days when I caddied in the late 60’s in the Chicago area. Those were the hot summer days you could seemingly cut the air with a knife the air quality was so bad.

This afternoon is mine to do with as I please as Terry says she will unpack the kitchen with the daughter and granddaughter. No clue yet for me.

Enjoy your day

Good morning! 78°F/76°F here this morning. Supposed to rain later to add insult to injury. Dewpoint will probably go over 80°F shortly after the rain and the sun appears. It's like living in the Amazon rain forest here.

Did laundry yesterday, what little there was. Making a trip to the package store later this morning and before I have to swim there. I put out a new hummingbird feeder and the other one I had was destroyed by the UV from the Sun. The hummingbirds stopped coming after the feeder emptied, and now that the new feeder is full, I still haven't seen a hummingbird stop by. Maybe I should move it to a different spot in the yard. I think that they think it's still empty and won't come by to check anymore.

Have a safe Thursday. Servus!

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 73° with thunderstorms still in today's forecast. Two more cloudy, cool days left before the afternoon highs slip back above 90°, then the forecast calls for triple digits for a week beginning next Monday. Maybe we'll get there this time.

Another mostly boring day here on the SFW estate yesterday. Dishwasher started the day and I mowed the south side of the yard, about 1/2 acre, later on.

It's the weekly grocery trek today. Home Depot is on the list as is the UPS store to make an Amazon return. Amazon is not making money on clothing for my wife, as she returns at least 60% of what she receives!

Interesting how some of us are adding up the time of retirement, while others are counting down.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I mainly just continued to clean structures, mostly tiny cobwebs ans an occasional dead ladybug on a roof. Ran some trains randomly, from staging to staging.
I posted yesterday about the small TOFC yard on my layout. That was my first real exposure to railfanning besides my Dads Lionel layout. The Santa Fe Zacha Yard was about 2 miles from where we lived and I rode my bicycle over there quite frequently to watch operations. No fence at the time! During the time frame that I did this, they upgraded from directly pulling trailers off the flats to using an overhead crane. While I never saw a tractor topple, I did see several that had slipped when off-loading the trailers. Watching them get loaded was a real treat, showing how skillful some of the drivers were, backing trailers over several cars to position them. No containers at the time, although they did use the overhead crane for that later in the 70's. Yard is still in use, although it was sold to KCS sometime in the 90's, and is now shared with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail.

Mike - What's your current pool temperature? Mine just dipped below 90°; still refreshing despite being on the warm side. I wasn't able to put up the shade umbrellas due to the wind, until earlier this week.

Drummer Stewart Copeland of The Police is 74 today.

Everybody have a great Thursday.

I was at 87F as of this morning. Don't know how accurate the floater thermometer is. My problem is I'm in direct sunlight from 9am till after 7pm before it finally starts to shade. Its still feels pretty good in these humid afternoons.
